Agreed value will play a huge part on Insurer competitiveness for these car going forward, as there seems to be a huge disparity in their perceived value to the tune of 5 figures in some cases. I sent a pretty lengthy email for mine and it worked, citing as much of the nerdy facts I knew about current stocks in the UK plus recent adverts. Just like everything else insurance related, you will have to fight for what you feel is fair, insurance companies will never voluntarily increase their risk unless they are compelled to. -
Probably but not at that price, based on the 201k one, I think it is more likely to sell at that price but nothing surprises me at the moment with some of the hyper inflation going on.

My worry would be what they are like inside, given that they have been sat somewhere for at least 20 years. Guess you are having to replace all the rubbers and seals in your boxes as a matter of course?

It’s all in the preparation and that’s where the bulk of the money goes if you pay someone to do it. If you don’t get rid of it, sealing over it will accelerate and compound the problem making the rust worse and having completely the opposite effect that you are trying to achieve. Completely clean and remove all the rust and any contaminants, before putting any kind of coat on the underside.

When we moved to the new site, lots of old dormant accounts were pruned in the migration to reduce the size and for GDPR. This meant the membership system was effectively reset and hence your membership number is different to the one you had before. If anyone has any issues with insurance companies then drop me a PM and I can see what I can do to help.

I bought a small amount when it first floated as a punt. Now it’s levelled out a bit I’ve made 15 times what I put in, if by some manner of fate it gets to about where DOGE coin is I’ll be a millionaire not holding my breath

Hi, if you don’t have the original email account anymore there is not a lot I can do unfortunately for security reasons. I’ve looked and there is no alternative account security enabled that we can use as a workaround either. If you manage to get access to the email account then I can send a password reset email.

Expect a premium increase if they do agree to a higher value, as long as you put a good case forward with examples you should get at least 50k -

Unless you have video evidence or know serial numbers, there is literally zero chance of getting it back. I'd take it on the chin and just enjoy the car, not worth the time and effort chasing what will inevitably be a dead end in my opinion, the boat has sailed unfortunately as you have taken receipt of the car and haven't raised the issue at the time. Welcome to the club though, don't think there are that many fresh imports coming to the UK due to prices now.

There are only 4 1a1 UK cars, 1 manual and 3 autos but the manual is now red and owned by a member on here. Any others didn’t come like that from the factory. @Mike2JZ is it actually 1a1? Or is it red?

Second hand purchases are always a gamble. If you are not comfortable with them potentially needing a full rebuild or them being scrap, I'd buy from someone you can trust or someone who can give you a warranty. But you will always pay more for peace of mind.
