  1. I am yet to determine exactly where but would hazard a guess at the sump or just in front of it. I took a couple of pictures a few days ago when I noticed the oil on the floor but did not see any oil dripping. I then started it up, left it running for 5-10 mins, looked underneath and saw it dripping then. The pictures are not brilliant, but it was a spur of moment thing. I'll try and do a better job this weekend.
  2. This one relates to my V8 Soarer, but I wanted to get a general idea before going into specifics. It only seems to leak when the engine is running. I'll get a picture up of the reading from the dipstick when I get home this evening, if it will help at all. Thanks for the tip; I'll be doing the brakes on my IS200 this weekend so I'll get the Soarer out of the garage and give it a go. Unfortunately not , but thanks for the tip anyway .
  3. Good evening everyone, I have a quick question - if too much oil is in an engine (i.e. the level is way above the full mark on the dipstick) can it cause a leak?
  4. Congratulations David! That sounded awesome; I'm glad it has all finally fallen into place !
  5. All the best David! I've read through from the beginning and all I can say is WOW:notworthy! I think 'Iron Willed' would be an understatement. I really hope this works
  6. I forgot to say "thank you" to you too Mobius; I wouldn't have gotten the ace instructions otherwise
  7. Thanks Swampy, your tip helped me to follow another tip that sorted out the problem with my gearbox . The pin that the red button should retract had seized in position. I don't know if you can put up links to a thread in another forum, but there's a thread that I started on the Soarer World forum that has all of the details there
  8. Cool, I'll give that a bash when I'm next out on the car and let you all know how it goes
  9. Now why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the tip, I'll head over there now
  10. Hi I mentioned this issue in a previous post (here) that my Soarer would not start and I could not get it out of park. It is now starting (yes !!); I fitted a LS400 fuel pump yesterday and it fired up first time. I didn't leave it running for long, as I haven't checked out the fluid levels properly, but even with the engine running I still could not get it out of park. As previously stated, I have tried the red button numerous times and it still refuses to budge. I'm aware that there is a fuse in the driver's kick panel and I am looking to examine that fuse this week, but can anyone think of anything else that could be stopping it from moving ? My brake lights work fine when the pedal is pushed, so I can rule out the brake-light switch. Thanks!
  11. I did try the red button, but it didn't do anything. I'm going to whip the battery off, give it a full charge and have another go this week. Also, I don't want to run foul of the mods by hijacking my own thread, so I'll start another one in another section if I am not able to make any head-way.
  12. Thanks and will do. I'm aiming to have another look at it next weekend, as this weekend's weather shot down my plans. I'll let you know what I try out and how I get on
  13. I'd forgotten all about Megasquirt, I may have to look into this - after I sort out some newly-discovered problems. My Soarer will no longer start and is stuck in 'Park' . So until I get these sorted, my conversion plans are on hold!
  14. Skittles for me Thanks Nodalmighty and Noz - it looks like I'll leave that idea on the back burner for the time being. I want to get the engine tidied and rebuild and I figured it might me something I could do whilst I had the engine on the stand, but, as I feared, it is going to require more knowledge and funding than I currently posses
  15. Hi I have read that it is possible to replace the distributor/HT lead setup on the 1UZ for a coil-on-plug setup. I have browsed numerous forums but I cannot seem to find a definitive answer or straightforward guidance (and I don't really want to sign up to even more forums - I've lost track of how many I have signed up to over the years), so I figured I would ask those who have done it on here . My questions are - how difficult is it to make this conversion work? Which coil packs would you recommend? Do you have to use an aftermarket ECU or can you make it work with the standard one? Thanks in advance!
  16. Ryan Would it be possible to "customise" the kit? I wouldn't mind getting the like the turbo kit at some point, but I wouldn't have any need for the adaptor plates or the sump as I'm planning on nabbing bits from my Soarer and keeping the auto box. This is just food for thought on my behalf so I can justify the budget to my wife, when the time comes...
  17. Just read the entire thread - utterly awesome! Inspired me to do something similar... when I get the funds
  18. Looks like the sale fell through, as it is back up on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-WHITE-AUTO-NON-TURBO-STUNNING-CAR-/120866749469?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1c24383c1d
  19. That's fair enough, I don't want to go jumping the queue or stepping on anyone's shoes, so I'll retract my interest. If nothing happens, please keep me posted, but if not, my search continues...
  20. Excellent, what would be the from postcode, if you don't mind me asking?
  21. I would be interested in the shell, my problem is getting it down to Peterborough... . Unless anyone has a transporter!
  22. Hi, If anyone is selling one of the above or if a new run is in consideration, I'd be very grateful if you could drop me a line. Thanks!
  23. Just received it, thanks man!
  24. Yep, I know, thanx. Day after tomorrow, then I'll square up. This has been a rather slow week, actually.
