Yeah, I'd definitely be looking at the facelift model. Also want the M sport too. That doesn't sound good with regards to access for maintenance

I'm the same mate, 5 miles each way to work, but it doesn't mean to say I won't be doing linger runs in it for day trips and cutting about the motorway on my days off. Thanks for the tips on DPF stuff I'd like to look into a delete and remap and swirl flap delete, but not looked into who's good at doing it up here yet. I'm sure there will be a few as it's a popular car. Are the 530d's ok to work on for things like glow plugs, air and oil filters etc? The engine looks to be set quite far back.

What was it like in the winter? Did it not struggle on snow rds?

When you think about it, maybe it was prices 8 years ago that were mental; as in cheap.

I can see why people loose interest a bit when it's been something you've desired later in life (and around the 2000's), but for some of us the supra was our dream car growing up, seeing it on Lexus stands at car shows on launch and promising yourself that you would one day own one. To me it's all about enjoying it for myself, it's the ultimate selfish possession to someone with a young family, but like has been said earlier sometimes you need a bit of fun in your life. I'm driving mine less and less due to family life, but it makes the times when I do take it out all the more enjoyable; getting to know it again is like getting a new toy all over again. I'll never loose the love for them.

Look at the reviews that talk about track use. They were saying the V'3's springs were a bit too soft for track use. If irc there was talk of swapping to stiffer springs as a solution but it was certainly a popular view that they were more for street use P.s i have them fitted and they are great other than the hydraulic oil squeaks going over speed bumps.

Don't be shy on asking the builder for some references of recent work that compares to what you want done. Looking at a previous job and asking the person who had the work done should give you an honest insight to their work. It would be ideal to find a brickie that could project manage the build for you. You find that people like working with who they know and trust, so often they will call in who they usually work with to price things up (joiner, spark) then give you an overall price for the job. It may also be a good idea to purchace the materials yourself if you get a list. That way you can keep tabs on what's being spent where. If you don't have any recommendations, I know that lots of firemen started out with a trade first and keep it up between shifts. Perhaps ringing your local station and asking if they know of anyone at the station or in the area who is a brickie they would recommend who might want to discuss a job with you might get you somewhere. What's the UK radiator like? How many miles has it done?

Switched to kw V3' s this year and they are great. You can set them soft and they still handle well. The rebound tuning helps also. They are night and day from the usual unrefined £600 range coilover suspension. In saying that, I've heard good things about CW's setups.

FYI there is a perfect fit gasket for this that looks the same as the one you have only bigger. I was lucky enough to have a fellow member gift it to me though so I can't advise where it came from. Just letting you know there is a proper one available.

It's a normal annoying function of the UK alarm. I get around it by locking it and unlocking it. It then won't go off when you go to get back in. I used to know what the side switch did but I've forgotten.

Apologies for not making this. Ross, as I explained to you, I was moved watches in work and my shifts for the full year changed. All that expressed firm interest on the thread were informed. It may be useful in future to put your name down on this thread if attending future meets, and that way nobody will be out the loop. Thankfully though this event was designed so that even if and when there is a low turn out, there is still plenty to see, as can be demonstrated by this picture from Sunday's event

I'd say £300 possibly more to adjust for Toyota price hike- if they are in good working order
