  1. Was just watching an episode of drive, showing how Porsche have a classic parts department that continue to make parts for cars that are older than 10 years old. Also I recently heard Nissan are planning on supporting the GTR with classic parts and really hope toyota follow suit! Perhaps we need to let them hear us? 2. This all seems positive to me. Gazoo racing is just a name, we will get used to it, it’s what it stands for is what’s important; the bringing together of toyotas brightest and best to build a new supra. The fact the person in charge of Gazoo owns a 600bhp Mkiv and recognises that the straight 6 is important and that making sure that “The new car has to appeal to the existing owners first,” shows that Toyota are putting the right people where they need to be on this project. Likewise, it’s positive to hear Mr Toyoda test driving it (reported a while back) and not being happy with it. It shows how much the want to get this right. I’m not precious about it not being badged as a Toyota. It’s the way of things now. They were very nearly going to launch the JZA80 under the Lexus brand, as I’ve said before as it was sold through Lexus dealerships in the UK and on stands at launch it had Lexus branding over it, together with Toyota. They will perhaps have wished they went through with it as one of the reasons it stopped selling was because of badge snobbery, so they won’t want to make the same mistake again where they can avoid it. It’s worth meantioning that communities like ours have had a part to play in them taking it as seriously as they have. I’ve read before that they scour the forums to gauge feelings, and they are very aware of who a significant chunk of their loyal customers are. I’m pretty excited to see what comes of it actually.
  3. You can see from the last picture just how much energy was in the impact from how deformed the roof is and how bent the car is, and how far the tree encroached into the car. Hope the passenger pulls through. He looks like he had first class help on scene anyway, with what looks like an air Dr there.
  4. Very cool, nice spot Those stock 17” centre caps are hard to get
  5. “GR supra” instead of Toyota Supra? And “TRD Supra” in America? If this latest report is to be believed. It says Mr Toyoda tested the car and said it needed more work. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/10/new-supra-might-not-be-a-toyota-after-all.html
  6. I've read that there will be a hybrid version planned to be released halfway through the life cycle.
  7. There are roumours (prob covered to death on here) that there will be a 3.5 V6 turbocharged 400+hours engine jointly developed by BMW & Toyota as well though so we will just have to wait and see. Point of the thread was really that they seem to be gearing up to make an announcement with the creation of a sub brand.
  8. After googling that engine, apparently the S55 is the performance version of the N55, with 425hp. Sounds promising. Let's see where it goes. Toyota always seem to have an identity crisis when it comes to making anything other than an eco box or 4x4. The supra was sold only in Lexus dealerships in the U.K., and the LFA (spiritual mkv supra) was released under the Lexus brand. Seems they are nervous about the last supra suffering from the perceived problem of people not wanting to pay £40k for a car with a Toyota badge. Not sure Honda or Nissan have had that problem??
  9. 3. Litre inline 6 TT is NOT what I was expecting
  10. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/08/toyota-launch-new-sports-car-sub-brand-september.html?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SupraForums.com_sold&utm_source=SupraForums.com20170914 All eyes on Toyota next month
  11. Tried the EF1 A2's a number of years ago and been buying them ever since. There is an asymmetric 3 out now which is meant to be even better.
  12. Cracking price. Best part of £1k for a new one.
  13. Check the ones off the Lexus GS300 from mid 90's. They look close. Might get lucky on eBay etc.
  14. Eliminates front end floating at speed. That video was fantastic! Really good view of how the supras aerodynamics work
  15. It'll be interesting to watch won't it; Mcgregor is great at hyping himself up (and backs it up in the UFC), but I think in this case he's stepping into Mayweathers discipline. Even a small technical difference like fighting and striking with mma gloves compaired to 16oz boxing gloves on your hands will have an effect. Mayweather will beat him easy, but they should have a rematch under mma rules! That Ireland comment, ooft. Dig dig dig.
  16. Looking great! Just needs a tv, toilet and a lock and you're all set!
  17. Nice exhaust that's not too loud, used to have one before my nur spec R
  18. Your CW SMIC cost me circa £900 mark new, plus you have to wait for enough interest for a new batch to be made, with yours you've got no wait time for manufacturing and its brand new, I wouldn't be giving it away if I were you
  19. In what way?, can you remember? Just out of interest.
  20. If that was the case why would it have the dial on it under the sticker to set it? There must be a degree of tuning on it with regards to raising the limit. Perhaps people who have issues have it on the wrong setting? Not saying it's the best out there But there's been no issues with mine.
  21. I have a scramble setting on my SARD trigger ebc and once pressed you get a preset time where it'll run that boost, eg it'll show a countdown from 30 sec where it's available if requested, then it'll default back to last selected boost. If I press the accelerator and let off it'll restart the timer. I have it set to 1.4 bar and a bit more aggressive gain, but I don't really use it much, I just leave it on middle boost setting unless it's wet, where I set it to low, or even off. (WARNING, JSPEC MAX SAFE BOOST 1.2 BAR)

    Supra fire

In the dozens of car fires I've dealt with it's been water used every time; yes we have a fire engine at our disposal with foam and dry powder but water does the job fine. With a fire, expecially a car fire, it IS extremely hazardous, not only with risks of battery exploding throwing acid and fuel/ oil spitting at you. Actually the biggest hazard I would say in inhaling the toxic fumes that come off cars. So if knowing about the hazards involved you don't feel confident of dealing with it quickly and decisively at a safe distance I would always advise calling 999 (even if you deal with it yourself as it could reignite). Official safest advice is don't go anywhere near it and leave it to the firefighters, but I know if it was my car what I'd do.

    Supra fire

As I said on Facebook, sorry to see this man. Car was lovely. With regards to fire extinguishers, I carry a small dry powder extinguisher, but you would need a degree of luck to put out a car fire with one, as you only get about 6 short bursts. You're basically trying to coat the area that's on fire with a blanket of powder to starve it of oxygen. Trouble is if something is burning underneath then it could be difficult to coat. There is also the timing where depending on how developed it is fire extinguishers would just laugh at you. In that situation copious amounts of water is your friend.
