  1. I have a Uk TT I could try and post a pic of the switch you are talking about if it helps. Although it's really more of a dial. Ill try putting it up tomorrow if I remember
  2. Thanks nic, your some man. Is there a way to tell if they are needing replaced? would it be the the one near the turbos that is likely to cause a problem as it's the one that I presume senses air comming in? Might be expensive to replace if it's doing it's job and I can't tell I thought about what you said a few weeks ago regarding bigger wheels. I scrubbed the brake dust off the stock 17's and they look pretty good. More to the point, I like te performace they give at the moment. As you pointed out, bigger wheels may only be an upgrade in looks. Besides, a friend of mine wrecked an alloy off his dads jag as there are so many pot holes on the roads after the bad winter. I'll hold off untill the urge returns and the roads are better.
  3. Hi, was having a discussion in gereral chat that has moved on to be a bit technical. I've got a Uk TT and I'm getting only 230 miles from a full tank. Others had said they are able to regularly get over 320. It has been suggested that the o2 sensor could be done and the engine is runing rich by default. Sound familliar? I read on an old thread that said you can test to see if it's working properly with a volt meter. I've not had a look to see if I can find where it even is as I didn't even think there was a problem until today. I'm I right in thinking there is a front and rear sensor? Anyone know what I'm on about, and if so any chance of some help/suggestions. A walkthrough would be really good cheers
  4. Cheers guys, now I know what to expect I'll start a thread in technical in regards to the o2 sensor
  5. Cool, glad I meantioned it then! I'm going to have a search for how you assess them. Someone talked about using a simple volt meter, anyone done this?
  6. How's it going Johnny, I'm running a Uk TT auto with a back cat exhaust and k&n washable air filter that is made to replace origional air filter. Not running a boost controler as when I bought it the guy stripped out a few upgrades such as HKS blow off and some other bits and bobs. He claimed it was close to 400 bhp. The removal of gear was to lower the price as he wasn't getting any intrest. There is still a HKS fuel cut defender installed as he told me it wouldn't do any harm. I'm a noob when it comes to tuning as I wanted a stock supra and this one was as close as I could get to it, don't get me wrong I love it! I'm even starting to forget mk mk3 and am selling it! so to answer your question I should be on stock boost 0.8 bar? Just a guess. And I do drive using upto 3000-3500 rpm at times. And occasionally but not often up to 5000
  7. Ok bpu euro spec. It's a fair cop, u live and learn. I thought European supras were refered to as Uk spec. Were they made by toyota in the Uk and places like Germany in Europe or where the Uk/ euro spec manufactured in japan and sent over. Small hole in supra history knowledge.
  8. This is an old thread but think it's better to revive it than starting a new one on the same subject. I've been testing how many miles I get in my Uk TT auto. I filled the car up last week from empty and got in 80 litres (owners manual confirms the size is 80 litres) at the time it was asda petrol £1.23 p/l (2 months ago V-Power was £1.19!) I've been driving how I drive, backroads to work, 20 min journey, drives into town now and again 30 min drive. I don't seem to need to use the motorway too often and I'm aware short traffic light journeys hurt mpg compaired to motorway driving. So, the empty light came on at 230 miles last night. Stopped for a small fill at 235miles this is a Uk supra so the trip meter is in MILES not KILOMETERS as it would on a J-spec? Some people above have claimed 320ish on a Uk tank (although above says an 80 litre tank origionally thought it was 70- I also must have had around 10 litres in the tank when the light came on as I put in 70 and it filled it) so for these figures that are higher than me by more than 100 mpg than what I got. Is it that people are posting mpg from j-spec cars and it's actually in km? Or do I just have too heavy a right foot!? I wasn't being too careful, just normal, enjoying the car. Wanted to see what driving it like that would achieve. Fill up at £1.23 cost £87 for 70 litres btw I think I want to check the o2 sensor as suggested. I also think I'd like to do the same test on v-power as it needs to burn less to get the same bang. Let me know your thoughts. Old thread I know but it's almost £1.30 at some pumps so it's getting redonkulous! Cheers
  9. There is a video on YouTube of the german top gear of a black Uk spec supra racing a red m3. The supra wins by about half a lenth to the quarter mile. Might give you an idea? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN1AWWE6YJc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  10. Congratulations. Take it easy untill u get used to the power. U won't have driven anything like it. Enjoy and respect
  11. no luck- I've only ever dealt with admiral/elephant. Might be your insurance company or sometimes it's ure luck who on the phone. I was given a quote before I bought my UK TT last year with D2 coilover suspension and when I went to insure it on the day I was picking it up I was told that they don't cover cars with racing components.
  12. Tip for insurance. I added my gf as a named driver. Saved £100. Try adding a female driver, the thinking is it's less time a maniac like us is behind the wheel so less chance of accident lol. I was tipped about it and it worked for me
  13. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Josh- I like te stock wheels too mate. It took me ages to find a stock Uk supra I wanted. But think I'd like a nice new set of wheels. Nix- interesting point. I don't have a body kit so 19" might look too big. It had bigger alloys on it when it was advertised but I didn't like them so had the stock ones put on. I think they were 18" but can't be sure as it was from a pic. I think this might have something to do with the fact the speedo reads a few mph more than the sat nav. Like it was re-calibrated for bigger wheels and not changed back. Previous owner was a lexis technician. Might be just me. Might be better with 18"- thanks- cheaper too marc_p- nice wheels. I'm watching a very simular set on eBay MANIARACING MONACO ALLOYS Cheers for the other suggestions. Work tomorrow will be productive
  14. Hi there, first post on the forum, been a mk3 driver/owner from 2003 and after a long search found my uk 95 TT silver mk4, lovely condition, 88k, black leather, auto. Love it. It loves petrol [sHOCK][/sHOCK] [GRIN][/GRIN] Anyway, it currently has the stock 17" alloys on it. I was happy to have them as I think they can look better than some alternatives. I'm starting to think however that come the summer I would like an upgrade. I'm looking for a set of 19" or 18" 5 spoke black alloys with a deep dish chrome lip. They would have to fit over Uk brakes or if nice enough I would look into spacers. Anybody got any suggestions? I think they would look gd on a silver supra. Cheers for Reading Marcus
