  1. Thankfully I’ve not had to deal with any of these on fire yet, but I had heard they take forever to put out. As much of a pain they seem to deal with in a fire scenario, I think I’d rather deal with one than an lpg conversion. I’ve seen some videos of how violently they can explode. They might be as well developing a dam to go round the car and just submerge the battery pack like they used to do with acetylene cylinders. I must admit I find Tesla as a company quite interesting. I find the thought of the car driving you home from the pub quite appealing. Heard they would eventually like you to be able to summon the car from home. Handy for picking you up from the airport after holiday etc
  2. Initially interested. Always thought it looks a great event
  3. I’ve heard from someone else as well who owns an e61 m5 that he considered his previous 535d lci the best for an all rounder.
  4. I follow this guy on twitter, @markricconi - he is a photographer for top gear and has an E61 M5. Have a scroll through his timeline from last week to a few months ago and you will see his car on the back of a flatbed at least half a dozen times. Latest tweet about it was a joke saying when the recovery guy arrived to uplift he was asking him, how’s the wife and kids?, how was that holiday? Etc. His car has a BMW warranty and he showed some of the invoices including one for a new engine that were eye watering. I don’t know if the reliability of the car is worsened for him because he is using main dealers to maintain his car. In my experience they are incompetent liars. (Sure not all like that, but I’m not alone in thinking that) He says it’s out of this world; when it works.
  5. I recognise the wall where the pictures of the car are taken. As if he’s sold supras before and taken the pics at the same spot.
  6. Tried your settings, my boost 2 setting at 1.4 was already at 60 gain but boost 1 at 1.2 was down at 20. Changed it to 50 and seems like there’s a difference
  7. You must be right, just looked like it could have been overspray at first so begged the question. Lovely car all the same. Pretty much the holy grail as said (if is as seems)
  8. Can anyone else conform if their bolts that are holding the wings on are body coloured? Mine is silver so is too hard to tell if they are or aren’t. My instinct says that they aren’t body coloured and that this has been resprayed.
  9. My uk bay is Matt too I’m sure. Any way to find out what the exact exhaust situation is? As in is it origional stock in good condition or not? Might find when exporting to certain countries, the car requires to be unmodified.
  10. Hope this all to be the case, and actually agree; I think we will see “what we all want” a bit further down the line. With the mkiii was it not a few years after launch that the turbo was offered? Looking forward to seeing what LFA / Lemans tech trickles down. (Chassis is already more ridged than the LFA)
  11. Welcome. Your car recently had a new paint job that makes it look great. Good buy.
  12. The chief engineer has actually said the following for the Supra owners who plan to swap in a 2JZ engine, "please buy the four-cylinder. It will be cheaper."
  13. Well done :thumns: Glad you got it sorted, sorry I couldn’t be more help at the time. It was too long ago to remember the details. Hope you enjoy them P.s as has been stated before, if you go too low on the front it can rub the arches. Think the springs are a bit soft. I love them though.
  14. Never know, the top GRMN spec might have an LFA engine in it with hybrid motors in the front. (I don’t think!) I get the points about not using lexus treasure trove. Must be down to trying to price it competitively and sharing production costs. I guess time will tell if it worked out. Hope all who attended had a good experience; “I was there” moment for sure
  15. Is it not something to do with being pre facelift? As in the facelift cars don’t have the slot in the middle? Could be wrong, but rings a bell. As in maybe that’s what they used for development nd assume all OEM is like that. Disappointing support from them. IIRC I didn’t get great help when complained about squeaking while going over speed bumps etc. Said it was normal. It was too long ago to remember what I did while assembling them to be sure. I could look at what I have left over to see what I didn’t use.
  16. Thanks, that’s helpful I can’t remember what my gain settings are, but I’ll need to try some of yours to see how it compares. I have low, high, and scramble; which is time limited. Not sure I get what the “start” feature is though. Not been in the zone for a while with boost settings as I’ve been happy with them for a few years.
  17. Yep, done it too. Can’t remember the bit size, but just drilled out the slotted section to the same diameter as the rest of it. It didn’t take too long.... unlike the 8 hours or so changing everything over! Deary me. (Drop link issues)
  18. Following your thread with interest What is the gain settings for 1.4 bar, and your other ones? 1.2 etc if you know them please. Just for comparison.
  19. It’s from the Gran tourismo game, that’s fully licensed and Toyota are promoting. It lets you drive the concept, but showes you the ideas that are floating about with them so wouldn’t rule it out in the top spec GRMN model.
  20. Lovely! A rare find indeed. Did the 2 guys originate in Scotland by any chance? Heard of a similar scenario here.
