I think the fact that the engine will be it's own thing being like a modern f1 engine will be good news for our cars, it keeps the legend of the 2jz supra alive and well. It's from a different era and will make it that bit more special to own when the new supra is all 4 cylinder and hybrid.

When fitting the new intercooler, keep the protective card on at the back of it (if it has some- if not it's a good idea) until it's in place as it protects the fins from bumping and bending on the brake disc as it's a tight squeeze Oh and if you're short on intercooler hose to reconnect it, loosten the othe side at the intake manifold and wiggle it to steal a cm or two

I also thought it originated as an American/ supra store thing. To me the + represents additional things that are above what is required for bpu upto apu (advanced performance upgrades, ie single conversion etc) as explained above.

You will need a 12" extension for your socket set to reach the top 3 bolts. Two of them you can get to ok but with one of them you will need a knuckle attachment to get it at an angle. I soaked the 3 bolts the night before in wd30 and they came off ok with patience, but I did round one off putting it back on so be careful.

This would be my suggestion too, including the 2nd nut that is on the positive clamp that joins the earth wire. Sounds like when you slow down the battery shifts a bit somewhere and breaks the connection. Is it clamped down tightly too?

Fyi the handbrake light is also a general purpose warning light. What's going on with this car mate? Hope that's your last gremlin! -

Hi mate, I'm not the best person to coment on fmic's as I've never bought one, but have you considered the group buy on Chris Wilson's updated SMIC? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?314923-Group-Buy-proposal-for-my-uprated-stock-mount-intercoolers&p=3948398#post3948398 He makes a good case for it with regards to propper ducting and air flow. These group buys pop up once a year or so. I'm delighted with mine, and after spanking it over 500 miles on the applecross weekend I can say it performed perfectly.

Take your car to halfords and they do a free diagnostic in the car park. They might try and sell you a battery but should be able to tell if your alternator is goosed.
