  1. I loved taking part in the "ducted teeth" debate of 2014 "If you where to stick your head out the window of a moving car and smile with teeth showing, would wind go round your face without forcing air between your teeth or would your face need ducting lol." http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?307893-Advantage-of-FMIC-over-SMIC-when-only-BPU/page2&highlight=Ducted+teeth
  2. Welcome to the club mate. Where in glasgow are you?
  3. I was really happy with mine, pretty easy to fit too. (CW smic)
  4. I thought he said he can make any pads up to order?
  5. I'm the same where i think it's getting a bit more about making Jeremy clarkston funny than doing enough on interesting and new cars. I also have this image of David Cameron laughing at home on his couch at all clarkstons jokes for some reason (not in a good way). I must admit though for all I complain about it I still enjoy watching it and the bit where the ambulance stretcher fired violently into the window and got stuck did genuinely make me laugh. The reason I tolerate it is because most of the real car shows I like are all on YouTube, including; Jay lenos garage Chris Harris on cars And the associated "drive" shows And motor trend If you've never seen any check the first two out for sure
  6. Cool, safe to say it will be a different car when you get it back then
  7. Cool, hopefully I'll get to see it in the summer months for a few blasts up the west coast What's involved with the work being done then?
  8. I did mine using autosol metal polish, you can get it in halfords. I also used towel rags and a bit of elbow gease. Smear it on and let it work then buff it off. Works wonders. What's the update with the car mate?
  9. Congratulations on the new Supra, and welcome to the club! Reminds me of the smile I had driving off in my newly purchased UK Spec, my grin was only matched by the ex owners sadness as I drove away

    hi

Welcome! If you paid the member fee, go to the wanted section and start a new wanted thread detailing the above. You can also browse the for sale section. If you haven't paid the membership fee yet you won't have access. You are allowed to "bump" your thread a couple of times a week or so to keep it active. (don't ask what bump means what ever you do ) Good luck with the project and get some pics up
  11. Sorry to see you're at this point mate, but I think it is what it is, go with your gut. What about fixing up a 240z??
  12. Welcome to the club! We are quite proud that the forum is so good with such high standards and might have came accross defensive to you at first, but now a few folk have explained why it's important to join up properly to use members facilities and we have that out the way, let's move on and hopefully help you into a supra that ticks all your boxes. Good luck with the hunt.
  13. Chris Wilson sells "fast road" pads that I'm using and like.
  14. It is as clean as it looks- £10k would be a steal for this car IMO, more like the £14k mark but don't really want to help you sell it so that's enough of that
  15. Congrats on the news bud, welcome to the club! I really hope you get something sorted so you don't need to sell mate. Fingers crossed for you.
  16. Star Wars battlefront due next year should be good, and the new silent game in development is promising. In the mean time try the last of us remastered and the evil within

  18. I'm rank (rotten) 24 and only started playing online. After level 20 the way you level up changes to finding gear with high levels of "light" I find playing free for all and trying to be higher than bottom of the table earns you a good weapon or bit of gear faster than doing missions in the full game does. If however you are below level 20 and have done most missions on all the planets, go to any one of them and do the "patrol" missions where you look for the green beacons. Pressing the touch pad helps show the nearest ones. Also it helps to take on bounties at the tower that you are likely to achieve on the patrol missions. In the crucible I was and still am cannon fodder but I switched my gun to a pulse rifle and use the throwing knife a lot and have been doing better.
  19. I would do as suggested and return the boost hoses to stock to rule out your boost controller actuator causing the problem, and if it is still happening then it would point to the wastegate having a problem and you can look into replacing it.
  20. I've never had a problem with intercooler pipes popping off with "3 double decat, and I've had the pipes off and back on when fitting a new intercooler. Reading the thread, you are right in what you are saying about the UK spec normally needing an ebc to raise boost to 1.2 bar as the larger wastegate releases more pressure than the comparible J-spec one. So I agree with Nic that if the wastegate has developed a fault and isn't releasing pressure the next weakest part that is giving is your intercooler pipes. Could it be stuck in the closed position perhaps?
  21. Could the front crank seal failure be influenced by a faulty crankshaft pully? If it's causing vibration (ie failing the "tippex test" where you can see it wobble) it might be a good idea to change that as well if it is an origional part. I've also seen it suggested that low mileage can cause seals to perish due to lack of use and causes shrinkage of the seals. Anyone back this up? Good news is it sounds like your turbos are ok?
  22. ^ this 2 can be accessed straight on, one you will need the elbow. Make sure it's fully on before turning. Good luck Ps you might find the bolts between cats and on the exhaust bracket are in worse condition so be sure you can deal with them before going to all the hassle of getting the tough 3 off. I had to cut some
