  1. Broadly agree with the comments so far. It’s too forced and none of the jokes land. It’s as if it’s trying to speak to an international audience too much with the pacing of it being so slow (and easier to understand) who knows. It’s terrible anyway. I’ve liked Chris and Matt but it didn’t really develop. Chris looks and is quite an awkward person at times when being forced to act, and full of nervous smirking doesn’t help. Rory, god love him is a positive person but I’d rather he was dropped as he’s hard to watch. He won an internet competition so what do we expect. Like the idea of former F1 drivers having a bit of banter. At the moment the grand tour is a much better watch.
  2. I think the Tartain Tarmac meets are back up and running again in the Glasgow area. It’s an excellent and convenient vehicle for a monthly meet imo. Main reason being that if high or low numbers turn out from here, there will still be a hundred or so people there with lots of interesting cars to see and it’s lambos and high end stuff, not Ned fest. Last Sunday of the month.
  3. How have I never left a comment on here!? Guess I thought it would die out after the first decade
  4. Sorry to hear it. Might not solve your particular requirements but thought I’d say +1 for rescue animals. We had 17 years from both dogs we rescued growing up and they were the best you could hope for.
  5. I saw on twitter yesterday that someone bought a 190k miles example for £6000. I suppose if he was planning on putting in a new engine then it might have been a good buy. I had the supra at a track day in September and was behind an E61 M5. The noise off it was lovely. They are known to be very unreliable though. The owner said he had multiple versions of the E60/E61 and said the 535d was the best all rounder. You don’t get the noise though obviously.
  6. Sorry rob hear the bad news. Who were you insured by out of interest? Thanks for sharing the info; as has been said, it’s useful for members
  7. Terrible news. Hope you come out of it ok regarding insurance. You will have plenty of valuable parts on it if it cant be repaired (hopefully it can) so bear that in mind from a financial point of view.
  8. I actually missed the part about exporting to the US. Excited to see how you get on. Have you looked into what requirements if any need to be met with regards to modifications? Ie is it like some countries like Norway where it has to be how it left the factory etc? (hence why you’re returning it to OEM) Also a thought that crossed my mind with the whole USA 25 year rule; does that include California?, because I know their emissions requirements are quite strict. Reason for asking is because the UK Spec has an egr on it (reason for the hood scoop)to meet European emissions that were stricter than Japan at the time (I believe) Point being would a UK/ EURO spec model be eligible in California also? A place where there is a huge USmarket.
  9. Nice car and write up. Looks like it’ll be well cared for
  10. Great work, hope you enjoy the car and glad to see it getting looked after.
  11. Uk 4 pot brakes fitted under 17’s remember.
  12. My bet is that it’s a JSpec with UK engine and other parts. Something doesn’t seem right.
  13. Rider, I always thought supra prices should be more in line with those of the nsx (just imo, and the fact they aren’t helped me become an owner), they have always seemed cheap to me for what you get really. I agree that they will reach the same values eventually. I can see the appeal in buying a close to stock car and tweaking it to my choices, after all that’s what I did. Blank canvas if you will. I can see the attraction of a high quality build though, but in general I think most people would want a stock car and take it from there, after all BPU isn’t too much effort to get it to should you want to go that way... and you can choose your own parts that suit your tastes that way.
  14. Congratulations I’m sure you will love it
  15. I can’t make this now for definite unfortunately.
  16. Wonder how close it got to the asking price
  17. Toyota haven’t given up on Hydrogen it seems. They launched a hydrogen powered ship this summer. http://blog.toyota.co.uk/toyota-sails-into-the-future-with-the-worlds-first-hydrogen-ship
  18. I suppose that’s always going to be a potential problem with them isn’t it. Depends if the conversion was done properly or not. I saw elon musks interview last night on Joe Rohan’s podcast on YouTube. He was interesting. He said we are already cyborgs if you count how connected we are to our phones.
