  1. Funny how when challenged on what are assumptions about UK spec supras people change their tune. There are plenty of jspecs that have seen many uk winters now but how many people use their supra year after year in the winter? I know I don't. Discounting any car without viewing it or simply by it being a UK spec doesn't make sense to me. My car is 20 years old and had the arches rolled last week. The member on here who did it said it was very clean and the arches were so solid it was hard going working on them. Some people look after what they have. I would also argue a UK spec is LESS likely to have a body kit etc on it as people know they are more valuable as close to stock as possible and try and preserve their value, which if people continually talk down will have a false negative effect. People that buy them know their worth
  2. Great pics Scott Supra UFO, keep an eye on dates mate as they might not be exactly the same.
  3. Thanks for the appreciation and kind words guys, I'm glad everyone seemed to really enjoy it and are still on a buzz from it I really can't take the credit myself as it was a team effort between SPG, Gordy and myself. Talking months of late tight phone calls texts and meets all to plan how to put this trip together. Being more than double the size of trip from last year, there were some new challenges to overcome to do with scaling and dealing with a bit more expectation from the organisers, but we totally smashed it and we couldn't have made it the trip it was without all of you staying positive and mostly keeping to tight shedules when we were tight on time. The effort was rewarded with some of the highlights of the trip that were non driving, and helped to bring a balance to being in the car for 3 days. It didn't feel like we did 670 miles because the roads were so rewarding, and it's funny how used to the jaw dropping landscape around you up in the highlands. Roll on next year! Couple of points to make. 1. Gordy is still owed money from the takeaway on sat night. It was £170 so £17 per head. Could we all send him that as a gift via PayPal to [email protected] (also £1.60 if you haven't paid the extra that the polo shirts came in at) 2. Please leave a positive trip advisor review for the skyewalker hostel, as they are really going to help us out next year
  4. Hi mate, sorry we lost touch- we got to our diggs at 8:30 and were refused to be served at the hotel next to the skywalker hostel. Nobody has your number to tell you and I've only just found wifi. Up to date situation is the guys are bringing a takeaway and beers back to the skywalker hostel so head round if you can! Typical hospitality up here eh
  5. Get booked up early next year mate, the highlands are always booked up with American tourists at this time of year! You can always look forward to the highlights vid So guys, early start at the xcape tomorrow then at the green welly. Scott, do you know where you think you might catch us up after dropping the kids at school? Thinking Eilean Donan castle for our lunch stop might be an idea? You'll know best. The weather starts good and dry but the forecast is light showers on Saturday and heavy downpours on Sunday, so pack waterproofs incase there is a break in the weather in the Sunday morning to still manage the fairy pools. There are a few last min jobs going on just now. Good luck with all the last min prep! I need to ; Having a chip in the windscreen from last years event repaired at work today Need to pick up a loan of a sleeping bag that I just remembered! Wipe gopro memory card and charge that and spare batteries. Wash, clay and wax car. Prob won't have time to polish too. Check tyre pressures Check fluid levels Pack the car with tent, cooker, clothes , car charging accessories for all the different electronics. Look out waterproofs and Midgie net Get an asda shop in Know I'm forgetting something.
  6. Oh dear! I don't think I counted the tank of fuel I've put in already. That's my story anyway and I'm sticking with it!

For me I'm thinking; Tank of fuel £90 x2 Breakfast Friday £10 Lunch Friday £15 Dinner and beers fri £30 Lunch sat £15 Dinner and beers sat £30 Lunch Sunday £15 £205 But that's gestemates and doesn't include buying rubbish.
  8. Baofeng 2 Way Radio BF-888S UHF 16CH Single Band FM
  9. Productive day then! Yesterday I had my rear arches rolled to accommodate the 275 rear eagle F1's, as they were rubbing a bit on compression. Got the wonderful Liam to thank for helping me out with that one, some guy Now I really just need to give the car a good clean out, wash, clay, polish and wax then I'm all set. Changing my insurance on the 28th to lynbrook who quoted me £265 for a 5k mile policy that allows me to fit a ebc and Finnish bpu (not allowed to fit it with admiral) so I'll have to wait till next years trip to up the boost. Gives me something to look forward too though
  10. Cool, sounds like it's running pretty sweet. The supra really was built for roads that we are going to be visiting ....NEXT WEEK!!
  11. Sounds like you're all over it Nice one, hope you're happy with the new rubber How's the car running other than needing new tyres?
  12. Was inside a nuclear power plant on Sunday there. Pretty eerie. It's owned by EDF (Hunterston) and 80% of its profit goes to France. The main fear they have is a co2 leak from the reactor as it's gas cooled (it happened at the site before, but the managed to handle it) I was surprised at the level of response training the staff have at the place, and they have spent £200 million increasing their flood defence, which apparently is what caused the fail safe systems at Fukushima to pack in, all the buildings that are designed to kick in in an emergency and for example, pump in nitrogen, were flooded so nothing worked as all the computer systems were fried. Interesting place right enough but I was glad to leave!
  13. I'm surprised you missed the thread Kev! Yeah keep a look out for next years trip Great, sounds good Scott
  14. Graham have you an idea of how we will get all the radios working together? Ie john was saying he has to program his radio on his PC before use to what frequency it will be on. If we have the information to share with everyone it might prevent issues on the trip. Would it be an idea to use sonething that folk with less fancy radios can use too?
  15. Did you hear about that dude in England last week who contacted the international space station from his shed?? That will be you lol
  16. Good shout on the new rubber mate I've had ZZ3's before and they weren't too bad. You'll def benefit from the extra grip.
  17. FYI I paid £417 for 2 front uk spec calipers from Toyota 3 weeks ago. So that gives you a price guide to what they can do
