  2. I see there is movement today regarding this on gazoo racing’s twitter page. Says parts are now available for the 2000 gt from today if anyone has one Hopefully start seeing more parts available. Headlamps available from winter 2020 This might help with prices of parts skyrocketing in recent years, depending on how they price them. There is a reproduction request form. They are asking what parts we want. https://www.toyota.co.jp/cmpnform/pub/co/grheritage_en
  3. Wow lucky you! So was it the normal key to on and press the black button till it takes for about half a minute? I tried replacing the battery in my key fob so no such luck for me
  4. Having this problem too. Think I’m just going to have a new system installed. The standard alarm has always been a pain when it works; never mind when it doesn’t.
  5. Apologies, I tried uploading pics but having issues.
  6. That can be true. If I can find it a good home then it would be less hassle. These things run forever. If anyone is interested before I start a future for sale thread let me know.
  7. Thanks for the kind words and info guys. The interior of the car is mint black leather but there are a couple of scuffs on the bodywork that might need attention before selling as a whole.
  8. Hi all, my father passed away in December leaving behind his Lexus GS 300 which I need to do something with soon. It’s the last version that had the VVTI 2JZ-GE engine in it (uk car) The engine has less than 90,000 miles and was serviced regularly with no issues. I was wondering if it’s worth my while having the engine pulled if there is enough value in it. What’s the thoughts? Thanks in advance. Marcus
  9. I have these somewhere if still needed
  10. I’m looking forward to buying one one day and being able to summon it from home to pick me up if I’ve been out etc. Plus they are talking about registering them as part of an autonomous taxi network so it could be out working for you while you are in bed. Don’t fancy doing the school run in it the next morning after it’s been out the night before running about god knows who though, but the technology will throw up some interesting new things. (A bit like it’s customers ) I’ve noticed the fire risk thing though. They seem to be extremely hard to extinguish once on fire. I think it’s due to battery cells continuing to individually rupture due to the heat the store. I’ve heard they can take hours and hours and the only real way to be sure is to fully submerge them in water (like the fire brigade used to do to cool down acetylene cylinders)
  11. Was driving through town a few months ago with a mate in the car and some gymuy snatched his phone out at a junction and started filming; getting down low to get creative. I said: “yeah, it happens with this car” haha
  12. I believe they are discontinued, yes. Thanks for the response, I can see that there wouldn’t also be the same demand as say, the smic. Thanks
  13. Chris, would you ever commission a replacement for the diff cooler that the uk cars have in the rear side pods? Thanks Sorry if it’s off topic.
  14. Thought Paddy was really respectful of the car and his enthusiasm shone through. Well done to all involved It would be rude not to drive my silver UK spec to work in the morning now after that
  15. Fantastic, can’t wait to see it and interesting insight
  16. Hi they came in the following colours: Silver Black White Red Storm blue All had either cream or black leather seats (front and back) Engine differences include egr cooler (snorkel and bonet scoop) Steel turbo fins instead of ceramic and a larger diameter exhaust manifold down pipe. There are other differences under the bonet but I’m not as sharp with all of them. They have a diff cooler in the rear air ducts and different arrangement tail light, headlight washers and glass headlights. The 17” alloys are also a slightly different that the j spec 17’s The drive shaft is thicker I believe (things on it are “beefier” in general) The auto box is meant to be different (may be contested but meant to be stronger) It has a speed sensitive front spoiler It has larger brake callipers and disks all round (as standard) I believe the digital clock telling outside temp is also not a jspec feature.
  17. Hopefully we will see what it means in reality soon. I have a feeling if they restart discontinued parts that they will resume the previous prices. As an example, the discontinued new stock exhaust I have was last listed at over £1,000. Also, parts like the V160 that were made by Getrag may not be included... I remember the petition but I was refering to direct lobbying of Tetsuo Tada at the owners event last year where the point seemed to register with him. Enough people in enough places were all wanting it. They will be doing well to match companies like Porsche and Land Rover, where you can still get virtually any part for any car from them.
  18. Texas supra Facebook page. I have a screen grab but it’s not uploading. The point was made to Toyota from members (not me) that companies like Nissan have a heritage parts dept and Tada said he would raise it with the company. Seems he may have kept his word on this...
  19. Toyota announced the launch of the “part reprint activity- GR Heritage parts project” for A70 & A80 owners Specific parts not announced yet... Ooft!
