  1. Just watched it having recorded it and came on to talk about the grid girls but I see I have been beaten to it! They know how to make them over there! The venue was also amazing. I loved the stadium section, it had such a great atmosphere. F1 needs that track to be a permanent fixture where it has everything going for it, not least what looked like real working/ middle class f1 fans turning out in numbers. Compared to the barhains and some of the other cold emotionless tracks. One night race is enough. I was pleased for Nico, hopefully he keeps winning to keep the end of the season and run up to next seasons rivalry interesting. I hope what's been said about Hondas upgraded power unit is true. I'd love to see them fighting at the front next year. It's not fair for them that they haven't been allowed a bit of extra testing to catch up with other manufacturers.
  2. Glad it all worked out, congratulations!
  3. I'd travel back to Toyota city in the mid 90's and erase the plans to VVT-I the 2JZ
  4. I was about to say I'd buy this but I'm not as big headed as you are
  5. This has given me full body rush every time I've watched it. The bit where the music comes in at the falcon shot is special. The book now feature linked to the trailer apparently crashed both the ugc and odeon websites.
  6. Fuel tank cover condition and price please. Do you have a buyer for the engine and if not do you have a price?
  7. Good find, thanks for sharing Sure it will get some use for servicing the estate.
  8. Looking good mate! Shame it's not the dry day we had yesterday! You had it out for a test drive yet?
  9. Sounds like a good trip regardless Havard I think it was April that work started on last years event! It'll be September some time probably, like the last 2 years have been, other than that it's still early
  10. How you enjoying the trip Havard? Hopefully the weather stays nice and bright for you as it was today Is that route called the north coast 500 or something? Looks like that new route they are trying to promote as a tourist attraction. It would be a good experiance I'm sure. You'll need to tell us what the best bits were It's a shame you missed out applecross as others have said but you can't fit everything in at once and you'll just need to catch it next time, along with a blast over to Skye, where I would choose to go to if I could go anywhere in Scotland Keep an eye out for the Applecross 2016 thread next year
  11. Cool video The windscreen is black because the camera doesn't penatrate glass; so won't pick up the heat from the driver through it.
  12. Sorry to the last and previous owners to see this. It's hard for those of us that had nothing to do with it never mind those who have had a connection to it. As above; glad the driver and everyone else were unharmed. As we know, these engines have a sweet spot around 60mph in the right gear so this could be what has caused the driver to be caught out. It's a stark reminder that they really do deserve upmost respect until you get to know it (and beyond). For me after 5 years+ of ownership I am still careful to use smooth throttle in the wet. Accidents happen though and I'm full of sympathy. Death of an icon.
  13. £417 for just the fronts from Toyota

Cool, I think the only real problem with that engine was that they didn't torque the head bolts tight enough resulting in head gasket failure (mine went at about 100,000 miles) I suppose if they were tightened up it would be a different story; I actually suspect that we have the 7M to thank for the 2JZ being so strong as they would have wanted to make up for it being problematic. Loved my old MKiii, it was my 1st car.

Hi, welcome to the club Tom I would highly recommend the TT auto, it's a very smooth box and you can still have fun with it as it has a semi manual mode which it calls "Manu" Ideally you would benefit from a test drive as it's not comparable to a "normal" auto from the same period; it's very good. You will pay a lot more for a manual too btw. Good luck

Welcome to the club from a fellow former MKiii owner. How did the 7M-GTE like 500hp? Not a lot I'm thinking
  17. This thread itself is turning into the cats pyjamas. If I view a UK spec that is bpu, it doesn't stop being a uk spec; as any reasonable person would conclude that the things that make the car uk spec are still present unless swapped or uprated. Also, there are lots more diferences to a uk spec that have been mentioned here; the drive shaft for example is stronger and the auto box and diff to name a few more. Thanks for your concern for the buyers in the market, but I don't think anyone else seems to be confused
