Thanks for the help I'll try a couple sites see if I get lucky as someone will do them I'm sure. Looks like it won't be cheap though.

I'm wondering if you can still get ABS sensors for the Supra as I'm having problems finding them. Try'd a few parts company's (4 local and a few online) and no joy. I've done a search on here and never found anything regarding them being rare or discontinued. Seems odd given it shares the chassis with a few other body's thought they'd be common to the point of even being cheap!

Clutch now gone

I have a Carbonetic/ATS twin plate cabon carbon clutch for sale as it just won't hold the new engine setup so I've bought another. This was in my 93 RZ 6spd for about 2-2.5k mls so still as new really. It's rated by Carbonetic at about 900hp but ATS say 800hp so we'll stick witht the lower for safety. It comes with the pull to push conversion slave braided hose and fulcrum etc. Drives okay for a clutch with this power capability I think. I swapped from a HKS triple to it and it was so nice in comparison but I have to assume it's heavier than stock pedal feel. Any questions just ask. Price is £1000 Thanks Gary

It was after I had it done that he gave his oppinion on the shop so already to late if it was true. The machine shop that did the work is the oldest in Scotland or something and do all kind of really mental old and rare engines... Never a stroker on a 2jz but other engines. I would rather not say the "tuners" name/company as I don't want to do to other people what he did to me. Theres a good chance theres a few 2jz and 1jz engines from him on here as he's the latest "expert" about Scotland and doing loads of drift cars and projects.

The tuner in question only uses HQ garage. HQ garage used to be Dastec and is one of the preferred dynos around my area. They have recently made a hub dyno so can do big power stuff properly. Its for these reasons most tuners use/hire there dyno to do the work on. They had a good rep for a bit then really bad but are coming back once again. I'm going to use them to run my engine in as it's all new parts and they can monitor it better than unknown Street driving. Anyway the proofs in the results and thats what I go by and thats why I have used the bits I used as they have been proven before... Except the machine shop they've never done a stroker 2j and I was almost ready to send my block to England as nobody could or would do it so fingers crossed on that front. Lol
-
Thats how I took it but still a shame the car didn't work at the time would have been good to see. I'd say everyone has there opinion when it comes to tuning but its still not great to hear a "pro tuner" proclaim such a thing. He slaughtered my whole project basically between the Whifbitz claim and Borg Warner which I have a custom spec S383, he did the same for the only machine shop in Scotland willing to machine my block for my stroker kit. Lol

This car was at HQ garage the other week it had a boost spike issue hitting above 2.5 bar at 1/3 throttle and going into limp mode. The diagnosis was the Whifbitz manifold and waste gates don't work. Infact the person looking after the car for the owner has outright removed and slaughtered all Whifbitz products and Borg Warner turbos! This was info from the newest proclaimed top Scottish 2JZ tuner.

So it seems I am missing small brackets from the looks of it. The car was bought as a rolling shell and it never had the bracket as either they kept it or as it was a drag car they just didn't use the front bar. The brackets don't show up in the book I have under anti roll bar so must be listed as something else. Hopefully the missing plates will solve the clearance issue as well. Thanks for the help folks Gary

This is what I'm talking about you see the mount is right on the bend and you can see the twist in the bracket itself. Also you see the clearance with the seam weld and one the other side it actually bent the seam.

Do you have any photos of where they mount to the car as I've given up trying to upload the photos of mine after 35 mins trying...GRRR! Thanks Gary

I was wondering if anybody had fitted the Titan antiroll bar? I fitted the front antiroll bar and I'm not very happy with it. The bar seems almost to narrow. The mounts when tight are kind of twisted a bit right on the bend of the bar. Also it fouls the chassis rail a bit where it's folded together and seam welded. Does anyone have photos of there bar fitted or let me know if they had the same issue.

Mr Wilson if you had a choice of valve train who would you use in a big spec build? Is it more about personal preference when you use top end products or is there a true difference? The research that I have done there was stories that Ferrea valves will bend but never snap. Owners gave stories of having had massive engine failures never having to do more than change bent valves and press new guides in. The same owners would often claim that they have been using other brands they'd be digging valve heads out of the under side of a unsalvageable head. Sounds like the usual Internet waffle to me mostly but I'd rather ask and get it correct the first time. I just hope I don't need to buy another valve set as it's all money side stepping not achieving the end goal. Thanks Gary

Just thought I'd pose a quick question regarding valves for the 2JZ. I bought a valve train for my big build a little while back and at the time I opted for the Supertech +1mm valves with dual springs option. I have now got to the stage where I need the head machined in terms of flowing, over sizing the seats and measuring for shim less buckets. I contacted a trusted performance shop about my requirements and was surprised that from the way it reads it seems that the Supertech valve train was completely dismissed and Ferrea was given in spec. Here's the question then... is there a problem with Supertech valve trains? I checked and Supertech have been used on some serious builds so what's going on? Thanks Gary

Some questions that I thought I could get help with here?
Crouch replied to Crouch's topic in Supra Chat
Excellent then just daft sites I was using listing the different designs of aftermarket parts as specific to region. Anybody else have suggestions as to who and where to get my block machined in Scotland ideally. There's plenty other big power 2jz cars about Scotland so someone must do the work. I'd have thought it a common practice to run billet caps for peace of mind so hands up those that run them. [COOL][/COOL] Thanks Gary
