not kidding when i say i used a DREMEL tool with paint and plaster remover head, then harsh sand paper head, then soft sand paper head. if doing this 'quick' method, go steady with it, impatience can cause damage!

for mine i used a grey PLASTIC primer, then a standard primer. for all the dash pieces your probs gonna need 2-3 cans of EACH depending how good the surface is, mine was shockingly filthy and covered in some horrible tar crap. next pick your colour it can be regular spray it will work fine, obviously you konw the difference between matt and gloss and that lacquer is better for gloss it brings that shine out intensly. make sure you put that plastic primer down before you put down a normal primer.

hmmmmmmmmmmm horse shit. they CAN. i know as im an ex technician for toyota. i just bought some front indicators for mine, (a 1994) but the indy's i bought were for the 1998 face lift. they searched for what i asked, 1998, found the info, gave me the fixing differences between the two, then ordered them for me, and it had nothign to do with the fact i used to work there. so try my local dealership, say you dont know your chassis number, but know your engine number and year, 1998 vvti or whatever. fish brothers toyota: 01793 421555 option 2 is service

cheers! to help you ill send you pics of mine in couple hours

if one is bad it will be. are you enquiring as per a previous post you made about a boost problem? if you contact your local toyota dealership and explain the problem they should be able to give you the correct chassis number specific parameters.

P.S. book also covers NONE vvti JAP

are they different on NONE vvti's do you know? different between uk/jap i mean? the book i got is for uk NONE vvti sorry

Hi, soz to post here, not sure it belongs in normal chat. the ballast box went on my hid on one side, and ive been pulled over for it now, so need it done before i can drive. the hid's were done in japan so im strugglin to find a replacement. about a week ago i got one from http://www.hids4u.com or something it dont work, its all the right specs but dont work with the rest of the kit already installed, do i need one from the EXACT kit that is installed....? if so does anyone know where you can buy ballasts from? specifically somewhere that can get the exact part i need.... sorry again but im desperate, if i get clocked driving without it fixed even in the day light the fuzz will rape me

is it a 2jz-gte? if so its the same. its in my toyota technicians manual as that. i think they have copies on here as well...

oooh, ok. that is off my boost controller reading. my greddy boost gauge says 500 ish but i thought that wasnt reading right!! as it reads a little bit under 0 when the engine is off or the gauge is unplugged. the hoses are all relativity new as previous owner had all new red ones put on. ill check all over though thanks

i checked the connectors, they look fine, the car has only done 60k miles. the connectors look really good. should i check for resistance and voltage capacity etc? thanks for your help btw guys!

UPDATE: just took it for another drive, the slip control makes no difference. the car runs at 1 bar standard. it is 90% ok here, unless your low speed in high gear and floor it, then it gets a bit jerky. 2nd gear runs are fine. with boost controller on, at 1.2 bar it bumps all over the place and im scared to let it go through the revs its that bad. i also forgot to mention in the original post, as weird as it sounds, that the SECOND this came up, the car is feeling quite a bit more responsive, AND first turbo pulls a bit harder. just feels faster and smoother, except the bumpy jerking at around 4k revs when the 2nd turbo comes in. WIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERD any thoughts/similar instances?
-
hi peeps, ive trawled the threads and found numerous threads like this, but nothing that is exactly like my problem. was driving normally about half hour ago, and put my foot down a bit to get round a car, and as it came off the 1st turbo into the 2nd it bumped about a bit. like bumpy acceleration symptoms, such as jerky motions, (only 1-3 jerks before it carries on as normal) it happens once out of ten attempts in low gears, but at 30 mph in 4th, if you boot it and let it go right round the revs, its very prominent right at the 2nd turbo coming in (4k revs) NOTE: im spraying my dash, fitting sterio, and loads of other stuff, so pretty much most of the dash is in pieces. could it just be that? i doubt it but thought id make note of that. NO ecu's are unplugged, just a/c controls etc also i noticed the problem is not as bad if i turn the traction OFF help!

Speedo cluster RPM, Mil and speed signal wire location
Dodge replied to hodge's topic in mkiv Technical
a main dealer should be able to tell ya this info for free. i no longer have a wiring diagram i lost it whilst moving house explain thoroughly enough to a dealer and im sure they will show you a wiring diagram -
p.s. these lights have been fitted a while ago, in japan, by the previous owner, i have had teh car in the country for about a month. the HID kits look like they been there a good couple k's

cool thanks guys, its not a battery connect, its a feed from old headlight plug, to starter, to ballast, to bulb. ill strip teh ballast and have a look for any signs of arching then. should i do the same with the starter just to be sure? cheers again guys
