  1. Towelroot no longer works. The flaw it utilises has been fixed now. The other issue with Samsung phones is that they have Knox, which I think can lock your phone but not sure.
  2. I have the note 3 and don't really want to swap it. What I do want though, is to be able to root it so I can control what permissions app's are allowed. I'm finding more and more that every app seems to want access to most of my phone - a train timetable app wanted my photos and identity yesterday?! And Facebook scares me to death. So the question is, is there a safe and easy way to root the note 3?
  3. Has anyone tried the oneplus one, I missed the pre order window and was wondering if it was worth trying to get an invite?
  4. Mine are tein flex, they have pillow ball mounts that start to knock after 5000 miles, they're not particularly cheap either. Mr Wilson on here can manufacture are replacement set that will not wear out, I was intending to get him to replace mine when they went again. If you search for pillow ball mounts there should be thread somewhere discussing it, or give him a shout.
  5. I have still got one that was never fitted, PM me if you are interested.
  6. I havent done the gear judge but to be honest I really dont think its the controller. Something is definitely releasing the pressure or restricting it, the confusing part is the fact it to limits itself to exactly 1.0bar that made me think it might be the controller. I also think a leak would release all the pressure in one go or make it unstable, so I'm going to target the BOV first then look at other things from there. I'll feedback when i find something.
  7. Is there a way of temporarily disabling the BOV to see if its releasing the pressure?
  8. I reset the controller and set the following : A = 0.85 / 60% boost / duty B = 1.40 / 90% boost / duty Feedback set to all 5's and the learn mode to O. The "etc" are correct as per other posts and everything else was default. Setting A is spot on, setting B stops at 1.0, setting OFF lets its boost to 0.68. All the pipes look fine and the plumbing is correct because it did work once. Could there be a restriction somewhere else? I know the BOV was changed, I also put a Tanabe Touring exhaust on it a while ago, maybe that restricts the flow?
  9. Yep, can turn it right up to 80% (the maximum iirc) and it doesnt make a difference, tried the feedback settings and everything else that Ive found about the controller. I dont really understand how they work, seems counter intuitive that I can lower the boost but not raise it.
  10. I've tried all the settings I can find in other threads, it's stubbornly stuck at exactly 1.0. There must be a pipe issue somewhere but I've no idea where to look.
  11. Also reading other threads, it appears that the controller should only be able to increase the boost? I can set mine to 0.85 and will stay at exactly that, set it 0.95 and its also spot on, set above 1.0 though and it sticks at exactly 1.0.
  12. Don't all cars do this since it's easier to chill the air. I think my other car will go back to normal once the desired temp is met.
  13. My car has had an AVCR controller fitted since i bought it. When I went BPU I had it setup by a garage to run at 1.2 bar which it did. Then after a while it reverted to just boosting to 1.0 bar, I didnt think about it or care so I don't know when it happened, but now I want a bit more power again. The only thing I can think of that changed was I replaced a aftermarket BOV for the OEM one. Other than that nothings changed that I can remember. Reset and played with the controller, its fine, just will not go above 1.0. Would the BOV affect it, could a pipe have come off or split? Any ideas where I should look?
  14. Isn't there a rule that allows the US to import European cars at a certain age? So we might see all ours getting shipped off across the pond.
  15. I've got one somewhere that I bought from Andrew and never fitted. I can sell that for £50 posted if you like?
  16. Using the Admiral website: If I say I am a "bank manager" rather than an a "Software developer" it drops my quote by £100. Nothing else seems to have any affect.
  17. Nope, limited to 5000 miles, plus its garaged. they are all fairly consistent so it must be something they dont like, will experiment a little bit. Just put in your postcode (WN2) and the quote was £590.
  18. Its HP15 6ED, comes up as "B" or low risk. Just entered the car as standard (no mods) on Admiral and it dropped to £508 rather than £540, took the wife off as a named driver and it jumped back up £40. Really doesnt make sense to me.
  19. Live in the Chilterns! No idea why its expensive, just got a quote from Admiral for £540. I'm going to try and edit the quote and find out what pushes it up.
  20. This may affect people but just asked for a quote from LV and they will not do Fully Comp on my 93 Supra, if I change it to a 94 its ok so they must have a 20 year cut off! How anybody gets a quote of £166 amazes me, i'm 46, no points, no accidents, 6Yr NCD and live in a rural area, cheapest I get is around £500.
  21. I just got some shims for a UK setup. The front comes with 4 silver shims and a little bag of grease. The back comes with 8 shims, 4 silver, 4 black and a little bag of grease. Do the black shims go next to the pads, with the silver on the outside of the black shims next to the caliper? Where is the grease supposed to go, is it just for the pins or it should it go on the shims as well?
  22. I'm thinking about getting one of these but the diesel version. Do you have any advice on what I should be looking out for on them?
  23. That looks really stable especially in those winds, does it use gps to hold the position? I flew mine at the weekend as well but crashed it into a tree, managed to get it down and put it away until I can practise a bit more. Does anyone use the home lock facility on the dji? I wonder whether it would be easier to control.
  24. Maybe your challenge should be how many can you keep in the air at the same time?
