  1. Looked a nice car, first Supra ive seen since actually owning one myself.
  2. Whereabouts in Shropshire are you? Its possible I could leave the car with you depending where you are.
  3. Elementary is the right word, you are absolutely correct it's the front callipers seizing on a bit after heavy braking (which normally occurs after heavy acceleration! ) Since they are AP racing callipers are they likely to be difficult to service? Or can it be that wheels aren't letting them vent properly and causing them to overheat?
  4. It has AP racing calipers on the front so i'm assuming theyre not that old and are ok. The rears could be seizing but then wouldnt be affected by steering. I think the steering is actually a red herring and is probably just the power steering changing the load on the engine or something. Someone has mentioned the second turbo exhaust valve which stays open a bit after booting it. That would make sense if it increases the noise and sound the engine makes, it would make even more sense if it was sticking a bit and staying open too long. Could it be a valve?
  5. This is really hard to articulate but there's a very loud vibration coming from my car just after it's been given the full gas. It sounds like wheel bearings grinding and actually changes note when I turn the steering either way. But it don't think it is because it only happens after a quick blast and then goes away again once it's cruising normally. It only happens when hot and the car has been running for at least 15 mins or so. It feels like the exhaust is choked and cannot clear itself so it vibrates and groans, then clears up, but the noise can get quite severe. It's a tt with the front cat in place and a boost control showing 1.0 bar. Anyone come across this type of noise?
  6. I have a classic tommasini that I inherited from my late dad. Its gathering dust at the moment in the shed but its a very good bike. Heres a reference to it from when I tried to sell it earlier this year... http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90614&highlight=tomassini I was looking for £400. Theres one on ebay at the moment to give an idea of what its worth... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140429251575&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 Let me know if your interested?
  7. Hi Martin, welcome. I think it's the same car I looked at when I bought mine a few weeks ago. Had a few sleepless nights trying to decide whether to get that one or the slightly modified one I ended up with. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it, I am still getting used to it's speed and the amount of attention the supras get on the road! Good luck with it.
  8. Its 2wd, about 8 years old (i have had it 3 years) and ive had some great races against the kids who managed to work out how to drive the new one.
  9. Hayter 13/30 ride on lawn mower for sale. £200. Excellent working order, new blade last season. 30 inch cut, petrol, collector box and side discharge options, good for up to about an acre. Collection only near high wycombe.
  10. Will check the pump and intercooler as a matter of course, and then i'll look into removing the first cat but thats going to need more investigation from me. Probably a dumb question but does removing the cats make the exhaust any louder than it already is? It has quite a few gauges already including fuel mixture and fuel pressure but to be honest I dont really know what the values are supposed to be. I tried watching them last week and they seemed similar to those in this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=219406&highlight=lean Didnt get accurate readings though as i went round a corner whilst watching the gauge and going flat out, I slowed down for a while after that [sHOCK][/sHOCK] Thanks for the reponses though
  11. The controller is set to 0.8 most of the time, the controller shows that peak boost on that setting can get up to 1.01. It has a higher second setting at 1.1 which shows a peak boost of 1.1. Henk had the car dyno'd at 306 bhp but after reading more about bpu it seems it could be capable of more than that, so I was trying to find the area that was restricting it. I guess the restriction is the first cat, and after reading the bpu faq it had me worried that using high boost without removing that cat wasnt a good idea. Probably fine on the road for short periods but I was hoping to do a track day which would be much more sustained stress on it.
  12. I bought henks car a few weeks ago, loving it but would like to carry on making improvements. It's had a single decat (rear) and has a boost controller, but I don't think it's had a new fuel pump or intercooler. The bpu FAQ says the combination of boost and a remaining cat is not good as it can cause overheating issues. What should be next to upgrade, the intercooler, pump or something else? (Not keen on removing the second cat because of mot issues) What should I be looking at doing next?
  13. I have a car with Tein monoflex coil overs with the EDFC control in the car. I already have the EDFC unit set to its softest setting but the roads I use are a state so i wanted to soften the ride more. Does anyone know if raising the ride height will soften the ride or should I be looking at the preload settings? Either which way how are the adjustments made? (I didnt get any special tools with the car) Ta
  14. Its nice to know its such a clean car, it will make me sleep easier, hopefully! Thanks for all the help.
  15. Sorry, the forum member is Henk. You can see the car on his profile.
  16. It's this one... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1673238.htm
  17. I am purchasing a 93 tt which is looks in great condition and has been owned by a well regarded member of this forum, so on the face of it it looks like a safe purchase. However its still a 17 year old car and isn't cheap so for peace of mind I am thinking of having the car inspected. Can anyone recommend the best people for this, would it be the AA or say a local specialist? The car is in guildford and has BPU if that helps?
