Whilst doing a trackday last weekend I got a massive cloud of smoke coming from the car. At first I thought I had killed it but it still runs perfectly.
The smoke is coming from oil burning off the exhaust, underneath the drivers seat area so quite far back under the car. Its an autobox and it looked to be in that area.
There are no obvious leaks and no large pools of oil or fluids although there are traces around the underneath.
Never happens under normal / fast driving. Only occurred when braking as hard as possible from high speeds, i.e the ABS is on full chat (17" toyo tyres in the dry).
Are there any breather pipes / over flows or anything around the autobox area? Anything else that could leak under braking from the engine? I would expet leaks to come from the front but for it to be so far back I am suspicious about the autobox?
Any ideas, anyone.
