  1. The one reason I can stand the heat at the moment Oh, and the only joy of public transport, far more lovely ladies about than you see crusing the motorway, or even around town
  2. I like so many different styles on Supras, as long as they are done with some form of class, so I can never decide for definite if I would go for a matte/satin finish or a gloss finish (if I was to buy a black one). So many options...

    hey guys

Thanks again Abz. And that is a very nice car hadyn, but I would not have the money until around September/ October, and even then, I will be lucky to have £3k to spend and an old Vectra isn't worth much in p/x is it haha. I think this would be the reason to get an NA but I won't rule out a TT if I end up in the situation to get one.

    hey guys

Thanks for the tips mate, hehe, no stranger to old cars here, late 80's to late 90's cars are the only way for me I think NA it is then, it' still a damn sight faster than my Vectra, and can spend money on getting it looking great and then NA-TT it in the future
  5. Nothing wrong with leathering the living daylights out of an old disc As for why the clips hitting the stud I can't help you but for taking rear discs off, as far as I can tell, they are a similar design to my Vectra's rear discs in that the handbrake is inside the rear disc? If so, then usually you have to turn a cog or similar through one of the excess holes in the disc which slackens the shoes off inside so they stop gripping the disc (and of course, handbrake needs to be off). However, as I have never worked on a Supra before, I can't be dead sure but that is the usual way. (Oh, and whacking it one with as heavy a hammer as you can find )
  6. Okay mate, I will give it a try tomorrow, will look good if photoshop does what I ask it too this time... hehe
  7. Good point Amar, but you can get matte clear coat can't you. My Vectra is silver, and for repairing some surface rust, I had to buy the clear coat, which is gloss clearcoat, so I would guess it comes as matte too? If it did then wouldn't it have the same smooth feeling of gloss clearcoat so wouldn't streak as you might expect? Just a thought...
  8. Hey barneybrendan, I could have a go at photoshopping your car tomorrow mate, but I couldn't promise anything good haha, photoshop and me have a bit of a love-hate relationship... hehe
  9. I think it would look fine with stock lights, but I think dark rear lights would look awesome on the Supra's rear end I saw a picture today of a Ferrari 599 sprayed matte black stealth style and it looked amazing, the rear lights were shaded too so finished the look well.
  10. I agree, the wheels let it down, should be black or dark grey. Amar, you should definitely not slap yourself for loving that rx7, great cars, just have a built in expiry date of 100k miles... A stealth purple Supra? hmm..... maybe something for photoshopping tomorrow to have a quick look, you never know, might actually look fantastic and begin it's own craze

    hey guys

Thanks Abz, the main use would be literally a run of about 10 miles per day to uni and back (as I would be staying not far from the uni) if not less. Then, maybe the odd night-time cruise (who could resist?) and then every few months (mainly around Christmas, Summer, etc.) the 40 odd mile trip back to Liverpool, then back a few days/weeks later. It wouldn't get anywhere near the use my Vectra does. That car does over 2000 miles per month and uses around £320 of fuel in that month, maybe more. I would actually be sad to sell it, I would get pennies for it, but I am proud of the work it does and the fact it is on 170k miles and still running perfect. If I could, I would keep it as well as the Supra as the main commuter but it won't happen. For the Supra however, it would probably do less than 5000 miles per year, but yes, it would get used every day.
  12. I think matte black cars look great, but at the same time, I wouldn't do such a thing to a black car that's in great condition as it is. I cannot bear to change a car that is in great condition already by such a large amount, I have to respect what others have done with it in the past and if after so many years of use, it is in great condition, you know alot of pride has gone into their ownership.
  13. I guess I have been out-voted ont he stealth look then?
  14. Not favourable then? It is one of those marmite looks I think. Oh and please don't think I am into chavvy kits etc because I mentioned wide arch kits, I just think a car in matte black needs something to highlight it's lines. Oh, and fashions come around! The 80's are back people
  15. Hey guys, just wondering what your opinions of matte black Supras are? I know it isn't a guarantee I will be able to get a Supra this year but never too early to start thinking of where it could end up As I will probably end up going down the NA route, I might as well make it look as good as possible and there are a few different styles I like. However, I was talking with a friend from uni yesterday (another fellow Supra fan ) and we started talking about black Supras. Now, I love gloss black Supras, but if I buy an NA, then I would like something a little different and I have always loved matte black anything hehe, and we started talking about a matte black Supra done in a 'stealth' style. I did a quick search before and found this picture of, what I think, is a very nice car: http://img228.imageshack.us/i/p1115766tn7.jpg/ Some things I would change on it however are; -change those chrome alloys for some matte black alloys, possibly with some red trim/writing, something to accent the matte black -the 'gloss black' headlights don't match the matte black bodywork, they look good, but I would try for matte black headlights, but maybe a little less opaque -I think some form of sideskirt or wide arch body kit could give it a few more 'eccentric' lines that would stand out a little more (to make up for the fact the matte black doesn't catch the light) -and I think the window tinting could be a little less opaque too, however, with the rules on window tinting, it may be better to just leave the windows untinted So, opinions? Anyone have any great exceptions to the whole matte black look? I would only eventually go down this road if I get a black Supra and the bodywork isn't fantastic. If it needs bodywork doing and I have the money at any point, I would go down this route, but any other colour, I would have other plans for it. Oh, and I think that front bumper is amazing
