  1. It's not that easy to just ditch the Fiat. I would never get any money back if I tried to sell it, so I'd have to break the car and sell the bits, and that is too much of a hassle. I'm sure I would love a Supra, but I do love my Coupe so I'll stick with it for now.
  2. Not all Supra owners are this arrogant are they?
  3. I couldn't agree with you more. Have you even read the rest of the thread? Lol
  4. How much power is your car running?
  5. Barbz built my engine and it's his car running 570bhp at the moment with a GTX3076. He took his red one to Dubai when he moved there and sold the bits. He's now been back for just over a year and had a dark green one. Small world!
  6. Hmmm, interesting. To date, there are only two Coupes that did a quarter mile in the 11's as far as I know, and both of them ran GT30's. One of them was metallic red and the other light metallic blue. I wonder who this was then?
  7. No offence, but look at the power your car is producing! I doubt there's many cars on the planet that could give you a good run. Out of interest, who's Coupe was it? I wasn't aware of anyone in the UK running a GT35.
  8. I would never try and compare the two cars. And you're right, they are in a different league. Like I've said, I love Supras and I'm sure if I had one, I'd laugh at anyone mentioning a shitty Fiat Coupe. I've never driven a Supra, so I have no idea how it puts the power down. As for putting that much power through the front wheels, it's perfectly tractable and more drivable than you'd think. It would really be interesting to see how the two cars compare on the road, so maybe we could tag along on one of the meets?
  9. I'm clearly in the minority here. I'll forgive you guys for defending your Supras - I'd do the same thing on the Fiat forum. I guess one way of settling 'who is faster' is to come to a Supra meet and put it to the test. Also, mine has a new fully forged engine which means she will be more reliable than when she rolled off the production line.
  10. That's just the thing. For relatively little money, you can make my car very fast and reliable. I'm sure if you put a 600bhp supra up against a 600bhp Coupe, the Supra would struggle to keep up as the Coupe is so light. I love the look of Supras and they have incredible street presence, but I also love the understated look of the Coupe. No one expects it to be quick, but what a shock you give them.
  11. I'm sure some of you know I don't own a Supra. I've always loved them, and came pretty close to buying one, so I registered here. I do come on here and have a read every once in a while, and the Supra is always in the back of my mind. I own a Fiat Coupe 20 valve turbo, which I've put a lot of time and money into. It's currently got the potential to do around 600bhp, but it's not completely done and still needs to be remapped. This is what I've always wondered. What's it like owning a Supra? I'm more interested in the big power cars. I know owning any modified car costs a lot to run, but what do you spend on the Supe and how reliable are they? To give you an idea, I've owned my Coupe for just over a year, and I've already spent over £12k on it.
  12. The way the belt is routed, there is not 1 long run of the belt like on the Supe, but two shorter equally spaced runs between two pulleys. I'll see if I can get some pics up. I think another problem is possibly the tensioner pulley is made from plastic and doesn't have a lip, so under extreme conditions it gives ever so slightly and causes the belt to jump off. I'll need to find a solution as my tuner's car had the engine go because of this on Thursday, and I'm running an even bigger turbo than him. Can't have the same happen to me or I'll kill the mapper. Lol
  13. Thanks for that Chris. Much appreciated! Can I just ask, do you still have to use an uprated belt or will the stock belt hold up with this mod?
  14. The new GTX series turbos seem really good and do exactly what they say. The Precision Turbo 5857 is similar to the GTX30 and should make the power you require with minimal spool.
