  1. Found this and from the parts breakdown appears to be the part you are after. The description seems to be a little misleading. 75573-14210 MOULDING, BACK WINDOW, OUTSIDE Hope that helps.
  2. Pulled the throttle body and verified/adjusted the TPS and checked transmission fluid levels. Everything checked good after some adjustment, but had to wait for the vehicle to get registered before I could take it for a legitimate drive. Finally got my plates Wednesday, but today was the first day I had a chance to take the car out. So ofcourse it was raining, but wanted to verify my issues were sorted and I can proudly say no more code 42 or flashing O/D Off light. Looks like the TPS was slightly out of spec and the adjustments I made sorted the issue. Adjusting the TPS was quite tedious but I got there in the end. Now I just need a nice sunny, dry day so I can remove the roof and give the turbos a proper workout.
  3. I have a US Spec and was also under the impression US/UK are the same other than the side the driver sits on.
  4. Thnaks for the pictures, but appears to be in about the same condition as mine.
  5. I had a similar issue and found out you get the warning all the time when you upgrade a pre-facelift to facelift tail lights. Can't tell if you have facelift rears or not, but found this sticky on supraforums that sorted my bulb failure light always being on. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?386061-Lamp-sensor-failure-indication-fix-after-97-98-taillight-swap-on-older-MKIV-s Hope that helps.
  6. Thank you Mr. Wilson, I have already removed all the gizmos, before this started happening as my battery kept draining overnight, new battery now installed. Will check the TPS as well as verify the fluid levels again once warm. I was thinking along the same lines as you with the loose wiring, or fluid level related. If you are referring to how soon the engine reacted as far as stalling after the incline it was almost imediately, same for the O/D Off light after the splice. Fairly certain I was still in second hitting close to but just shy of 3000rpm by the peak of the incline. The engine/ transmission does not seem to be reacting as fast as I would expect, but this being my first Supra I am still in the learning process and I am uncertain of how things are suppose to react. I was also contributing the sluggishness to the ECU not receiving the correct speed and hope once this is sorted it will drive as expected. Thanks again for your assistance it is greatly appreciated.
  7. OK, so was taking the Supra to get MOT'd the other day, car seemed to be driving fine till I went up a slight incline. It then proceded to stall about every 100 meters. Pulled the EFI #1 fuse to reset the ECU and was able to drive about two miles back to the house. Did the paperclip trick and pulled code 42, so went straight to splicing the pink wire to the blue/red one. Reset the ECU and took the car for two seperate test drives of about two miles each with no issues. Then went to take the car to MOT test station again, same incline get O/D Off light flashing but no stalling now. Turned O/D off and proceeded to MOT, passed and returned home to pull code 42 again. So now followed the the service manual for code 42, this is where my question begin. Since I already spliced the wires at the back of the odometer, that should rule that out correct? Checked the voltage as recommended at the ECU A plug pin SP1 but get close to 11V instead of the 4-6V the TRSM states, would this also be do to the splice/unbuffered speed sensor signal? I also pulled the No. 1 speed sensor, gear looks fine and voltage checked good per the TRSM. Cycled between 0V and 12V four times. I am also going on the assumption the wires are good as I am getting voltage at the ECU and the speedometer and tachometer are both working. Forgot to add, 1995 TT Auto that I have recently removed a faulty car alarm along with a working turbo timer and AVC-R. Every splice from the removed items were covered with heatshrink and verified correct per the TRSM. So hopefully someone on here will spot something I missed and help me sort this. Thank you in advance for any help.
  8. Mine arrived too, looks superb. Waiting MOT outcome to fit. Thank you.
  9. I am an F-15E Avionics Specialist but currently working as an Activity Security Manager (desk job) Thanks for the compliments, still torn on wether to keep the orange or not as I do like the looks of both RSP and gunmetal. Decisions, decisions.
  10. I too am an American stationed in the UK and was looking to take a RHD Supra back to the states with me do to the availability and cost of them over here. I also enjoy the drive much more shifting with my left and steering with my right. I looked into every possible route you can take to get a RHD imported. If you want to do it legally you either have to donate atleast 2 to the Department of Transportation for crash testing and then modify to meet there regulations or get the manufacturer on their letterhead to state that your specific vehicle meets US safety requirements for the year it was manufactured. The crash testing isn't very cost effective for an individual wanting to import and the latter is known to be untrue. I even went as far as to see if I could legally convert a LHD to a RHD, was informed that would be state specific and not every state will approve this and not knowing where I will be stationed next ruled this option out. As has been stated before there are a fair amount of RHD vehicles in the states and people do pay silly money for them. However even though an individual state has given them a license doesn't mean they are legal. I even read on another forum where a guy had registered his RHD Supra as a Nissani kit car. The federal government could at anytime take and crush their vehicle at a minimum. Here are some sites: http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/ http://www.foreignborn.com/visas_imm/entering_us/7importingyourcar.htm HTH
  11. Thanks for the welcome, I am hoping there is a beauty under that beast. Hello and thank you The orange is growing on me and most my family seems to like it, just not sure about finding someone who can match it. Yes, I guess you could say Gaddafi is putting a huge damper in my plans, but that seems quite insignificant if you compare the impact he is having on his own people. If the price is right everything is always forsale.
  12. That was the plan, that way when its all said and done it should be exactly how I envision it or close anyway. Think that is part of the enjoyment, knowing my blood, sweat, and tear when into making the end result. Hopefully it all goes to plan but you never know with work, so hopefully I can atleast make it mechaincally sound and then worry about the asthetics. Only time will tell. Thanks for the words of encouragement and the welcome.
  13. Thanks for the welcome. I am sitting here it Italy itching to get stuck in. Hello and thank you. The color is growing on me, but I figure matching it when it comes time for a respray will be quite the challenge as the previous owner does not recall the paint code information. Thanks Havard.
  14. Thanks for the welcome and support. Hope to have some updates in the very near future.
  15. Carriage is FREE for one vehicle. See marc_p's response to the plate he is spot on. I bought the car in California, but their taxes are crazy expensive. So luckily since I was previously stationed in Alaska I was able to register the vehicle there for about 180 USD. Thanks for the welcome and would love to make it to Suprapod, however currently being stuck in Italy with no estimated return date does present its problems in making it. Yes I saw her posts too, but have no idea where she is..lol Thanks for the compliment.
  16. Well after almost 6 months of road block after road block, my supra has finally arrived in the UK. Only aggravating bit is I am currently in Italy on business, so the wife was kind enough to take some pics and send them to me. Sitting in its new home. Although I already have some mechanical and some aesthetic work in store. Targa seals are shot, my brother was nice enough to throw some vinyl tape on there to seal things up for the trip over. Don't fret, there are new seals waiting in the shed. Headlights have seen better days, plus they are LHD. Picked up a set of pre-facelift RHD on here that I will shift on before leaving, but keep me legal while here. Also picked up a set of facelift I plan on doing a TSX projector retrofit along with turning the fog into a side/signal light, so I can remove the orange blobs in the side ducts. Luckily previous owner was nice enough to get some facelift rears installed for me, they do look quite nice. Doesn't appear the SMIC is in too bad of a condition, but already have a CW SMIC and HKS hard pipe kit awaiting install. While the car was in my brother’s possession, he described what sounded like the #2 turbo seal going. Well knowing I probably wouldn't pass an MOT with a bad turbo and like the stock twins I purchased a set of hybrid twins from SpeedforSale that too are awaiting my return so they can be nestled into their new home. The standard air box will be returning too, just need to figure out if the aluminum pipe with the yellow couplers will fit the stock air box or if I need to source a #1 intake pipe. Picture of the intake pipe mentioned above, anybody now who makes it or is it just a standard 45* pipe? All leather interior, pretty much stock with the exception of the HKS turbo timer, APEXI AVC-R and the SPI P-series boost gauge (not sure I like the location of the boost gauge so this will be changing) I picked up a facelift set of clocks with surround here recently and I know people say it is a huge wiring nightmare and my car being LHD into the mix and it should be quite the challenge, but I like challenges and the wiring does not seem over complicated ( I do work on F-15E fighter jets for a living). Will give it a go and see what happens, bearing in mind this is a long term project and has to be drivable for me to take it back to the states when it comes time to move. My brother was nice enough to hook me up with a 98 steering wheel which looks nice but think I prefer the 2000 Celica wheel which I also happen to have (It happens to be a triptronic model, but the plan is to use one set of buttons to activate OD and MANU when I remove the stock shifter and replace it with either a MOMO or TRD manual version) My co-pilot is already anxious for me to return so she can go for a spin (not to fast with the kiddies aboard of course) According to the wife this is the worst part of the interior (driver side bolster) figure I can either source a passenger seat from one of the fine individuals on here or possibly have dude refurbish the interior (that of course is dependent on cost as I do get paid in USD). This is apparently an HKS Super dragger, does anyone know if its suppose to be that low or is it just the angle of the picture? As you can see it has the Veilside front, sides, and spats. I really dislike the front and have an OEM front with active spoiler waiting in the shed along with OEM skirts and spats. However I really like the looks of the Trial rear, so may go that route especially because the wife likes it too. The spoilerless look is growing on me, but since I have a Greddy spoiler in the shed while set it on when I get a chance and see if that sways me at all. I like the way the Greddy spoiler flows with the rear of the car. Wheels, what can I say they look OK, but would like to find a nice set of forged wheels. I seem to lean towards the multispoke with a lip designs. Would love to find a set of 18" Blitz Technospeeds, but they will most likely be out of my budget at the moment. Yes, I realize the rotors need attention. Noticed that a lot lately, seen lots of pictures of Supra's with nice wheels and rusty rotors and painted calipers. If you are going to take the time to paint your calipers, why not take the extra bit to paint the rotors while you are at it (of course not the braking surface)? This picture shows the car was originally white, and although the current 10 year old paint job still looks to be in good shape bar the fading (although I am not sure it wasn't done like that on purpose) since I am replacing some of the panels a full respray will be in order. Currently I am torn with staying OEM and going white, or going gunmetal, although I think RSP looks quite sharp too. I have thought of black also, but being a little OCD I think it would drive me nuts. I think white would be easiest as I would not have to pull the engine (also save some cash) and have a feeling the previous owner did not pull the windows etc when getting the current paint. Won't be able to know for sure till I get back and am able to finally lay me hands on the car. Just a random shot the wife sent me, which sparked my memory on my mirror idea. Here is the plan to have power folding, heated, electric adjustment, side repeater mirrors. Sorry don't have any pictures with me here. Since I like the look of the front bumper and fenders (wings) without side repeater and think some of the new vehicles with side repeaters built into the mirror I figured I would give it a go, only thing I haven't figured out is if I should have the lenses smoked or not (that’s pretty much dependent on the paint color I chose) Like white would look better clear and gunmetal would look better smoked IMHO. If anyone has any painter recommendations in the Cambridge area please let me know. Well that pretty much my overall plans for my Supra, there are probably some more bits I will end up changing and or leaving alone. This by no means will all be done at once, but hope to at least have the UK legal in the next month or so, dependent on if I return home anytime soon. Sorry for the long post, but thought I would share some of my ideas with you all and hopefully pictures of the progress shortly as most of my ideas come from others on here and the US site. Thanks for looking, if you made it this far...lol
