    I like that one. Damn sight better deterrent than the butlins camps they wind up in if they get caught (for about the 5th time anyway. Before that it's more like a slap on the wrists).

    Glad you're okay. I would have been there with an alternator if I'd seen the message in time (bloody computer packed up so didn't see the thread till late). How bright were your hazards? If the alternator had gone the car would have been running off the battery till even that had nothing left so I would have thought the hazards have been very dim. Even without any lights the guy couldn't have been paying attention to not notice the reflectors and must have been going a fair speed. Did the police say anything about it?

    I'm up for this. As for distance... I went to a Yarmouth and 2 Southend meets last year. Nice to have something closer to home for a change.

    Damn it my PC went funny on me and only just managed to get on. I have a spare alternator, though it stored round a mates. Did this get sorted in the end? To be honest it's just as likely to be a loose / corroded wire. Had one snap on my old Volvo once and it did the exact same was wht you described.

    God at least my bad luck has been pretty much spread across a year and didn't involve personal injury. Anyone says bad luck comes in threes needs to be shot! Chin up though, at the end of the day there is sod all else you can do but try and stay positive.

    Just thought of a possible reason. They want the space but are useless at parking so use another car to line up (prob too blind to see the line)?

    Hi all, Would a leaky seal at the 1bar restrictor ring cause the idle to not make up it's mind where to settle? Some times after a run it will be at 900RPM, sometimes 500RPM and various points in between. I reset the ecu yesterday as I was getting a missfire code (think it was 14) and not checked to see if the code came back yet.
