  1. a rover V8 goes in no probs - the JZ is longer but thinner and the g/box on a transit is huge it'll just take up that space
  2. haha.... but i'm putting it in the front:D
  3. i'm gonna put a 2JZGTE in my Transit van:d what do you guys think??? waste of a good engine :innocent:or nice idea:cool:
  4. thats me - i'm not a mechanic, i'm a maintenance engineer
  5. i see what you mean but this is what we couldnt understand, the crack in the h/g is so slight it couldnt get the volume of water back through - the car has run fine since the overheating incident - since the old rad had cracked and was replaced with the ally one no water went in the oil no oil in the water and its ran for months with no leaks - then this hapened:( the cyl was full of water when i took the plug out it flooded out - i cant believe that it had been running like that without hydraulicing the engine - the chances of it parking up on the exhaust stroke every time seem very unlikely and as said the h/g crack was so slight i was expecting damage in the head or block but we cant see any - before we investigated it the car drove spot on other than the vibrations on idle:(
  6. just searching for the measurment of the allowable tolerance on the head before it needs a regrind - do you know what it is?
  7. eventually got round to getting the head off today! block looks ok but the h/g has a crack in it and it looks like it had delaminated- it's so fine you wouldnt have thought that it would have caused so much water to get in there but as theres no other evident damage it must be that has anyone had a similar experiance with a cracked h/g delaminating like this ?? all in all a good result tho
  8. good to know - i'll email them to check have you got any pics of it fitted in your car?
  9. how was it to fit mate? did it line up ok need any modding etc. cheers
  10. yep - i was looking at the kit from XS (not to buy lol) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2JZGTE-GT45-Single-Turbo-Conversion-2JZ-550-675-WHP-/230553830911?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35ae1445ff and it looks like the same manifold but braced
  11. i'm ok with a welder - the last pair (for a v6) i made myself but for the price of these it's hardly worth the time and effort
  12. anyone got any helpfull feedback on either of these products off ebay is the only difference the grade of stainless? and do the turbo's sit in the same position on both? Cheers:) XS power £178 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/93-98-TOYOTA-SUPRA-2JZGTE-T4-Flange-Turbo-Manifold-/290442475962?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item439fb879ba or JDM £142 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Supra-Soarer-2JZ-GTE-Race-Turbo-Exhaust-Manifold-/120648902824?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c173c28a8
  13. can anyone post a picture showing this additional support? cheers:)
