  1. If the car's a 1988 it's over 15 years old and can therefore be insured on a classic car policy. There's no such thing as a no claims bonus on these policies. There usually really cheap. Try http://www.firebond.co.uk
  2. It was £75 for mine. I only needed the front doing as the tyre wear on the back was perfect. If I remember rightly Chris said it would be between £75 and £200 depending on what needed doing. He does it the old fashioned way/ the proper way. None of this laser stuff Mine certainly feels better.
  3. My last set of tyres were the same. Down to the wires on the inside and hardly any wear on the outside or middle. I've just had CW sort the geometry so fingers cross the next set'll last a bit longer. Is your car really light on the steering and twitchy on anything but a perfectly flat surface? Those were my symptoms. The car feels planted on the road now and doesn't try to dart off in all directions when driving on poor roads.
  4. I thought elephant didn't insure imports at all?
  5. Great tip about the dental floss Kev. I just heated it up with the hairdryer, got the dental floss under it and it came straight off. There are a couple of small scratches/chips where the low life used a screwdriver or something but all in all a great result. I was in such a rage when I first saw it but it's all ok now
  6. The hologramic look - just breath on it
  7. No worries. Sounds like your badge is different to mine then so a trip to my local Toyota dealer maybe on the cards. I'll see how well the badge removal goe. If there are no marks I'll stay badgeless
  8. I think the badge is just stuck on albundy. I'll have a better look later.
  9. Cheers guys, always look on the bright side of life Thanks for the offer of your badge albundy, I may take you up on the offer or may go fully de-badged as Kev suggested.
  10. Some scum bag must have taken a shine to the Supra badge on the back of my car last night. Or at least half of it cos now I've got a "upra"!!!!!! Scrotes! What should I do now? How difficult will it be to remove the rest of the badge? It looks really shit at the moment so I'll try and do something with it tonight when I get home from work. What's the easiest way to remove it?
  11. I'm gonna send the sensor to CW and he's going to have a go at making an adaptor up for me. I'll let you know how it goes.
  12. Thanks Chris, I'll email you the details.
  13. Here's a picture of the sensor. If anyone can supply a sump adapter I'd be very interested.
  14. Can anyone tell me what type of thread a standard sump plug has? I've got a HKS oil temp sensor, that's supposed to plug into the sump. The sensor itself is smaller than the sump hole so I need some kind of adapter to convert it from its current thread to the sump thread. When I came to do an oil change the original adapter was thread bear so I had to fit a standard sump plug. I seem to have lost the old adapter now and could do with some help sorting out a new one. Thanks Jon
  15. Hi Stu, my car's the same model and years as your's and I have no cats and a Nur spec. I noticed a massive difference in torque after fitting these mods However the boost only ever reaches 1.1bar so you may not need a ring or boost controller. Not sure if this is because our cars are face lift models. Maybe they sort themselves out like the uk spec.
  16. Corsa's with 19" wheels! What are some people like Yeah, I agree that spacers are bad news. I'd certainly advise anyone getting new wheels to steer well clear of them. But I'm stuck with them for now.
  17. 'Wheel Mania' just hearing the name angers me Bunch of monkeys! But we won't go into that. Did the wheel alignment fix your problem? I had mine done by CW while he was servicing it just after having the wheels fitted. That reminds me, I've got a service due in March. I'll have to book it in with Chris I noticed with my old standard wheels that the inside edge was slightly more worn than the rest. But like you say Tim "not like that"
  18. I could do with some expert opinions on my wheel + tyre setup. The front tyres are wearing very unevenly (See attatched pic). I've just had all 4 tyres replaced and don't want the same thing happening to the new front tyres. As you can see from the pic the old tyres are completely bald on the inside edge but have loads of tread left on the rest of the tyre. So my first question is - is it the spacers that are causing the uneven wear? I've currently got 25mm bolt on spacers. The wheels are 8.5 wide and have an offset of 40mm. So this means that the total offset is 65mm, which is 15mm over the standard offset, I think The second question is - if it is the spacers should I change them for smaller 10mm spacers, that will just about do the job but won't be the safer bolt on type and will involve fitting longer studs? Or is it posible to alter the geometry setup to compensate for the extra offset?
  19. The launch control is just a bit of fun really. Something to show off to your mates with. I'd still get it though, it's not that much extra. As for the install, if you're reasonably good at soldering and you've got a decent soldering iron, you'll find it really easy. I'm not so I didn't do mine but saw how it was done. Make sure you've got a correct wiring diagram. Mine's a VVTi and I had a bit of a nightmare with it cos all the wire colours and pins are different to the non VVTi models. You should be ok though.
