  1. Would have had this if the race season hadn't just finished and wasn't building a new car for next year
  2. Hi all, Im going to be installing a supra-stick and am struggling to find a simple plug pin out for the TT auto box? Please can someone assist? its not in a road car so wire colors mean nothing im afraid, but i have the original connector. any assistance or direction is greatly appreciated.
  3. Davep, ordering suprastick. Could you give me a walk through on how you installed it and set it up?
  4. I have the line pressure cable running off the throttle pedal. I think to be honest suprastick is the way to go. I just have no idea how to set it up
  5. At the moment I have nothing but TC slip all the way through the gears. I need to find away to lock out the TC. Fluid is new, level is great. 2 srd coolers. I'm all ears.
  6. Dave you said wire in to resistors to the ecu wires. I'm sure would be good advise if I know what wires, what resistors and what pins in the original ecu to use as I'm running stand alone the original e u is obsolete.. I'm all ears though if it will work. Do I just need to wire the original gearbox wiring into the original ecu and power up the e u? Will this drive the gearbox?
  7. Thanks guys. I have the gearbox wiring plug and wires that original went to the ecu. But there's nothing rigged to the gearbox at all wiring wise.
  8. Hi all, cars on the dyno at the moment and an seeing slip in 3rd at 5200rpm. i know you can lock out the TC when using a standard ecu set up but im running stand alone and have no electronic control for the gearbox. is there a way you can lock out the TC without it being wiring into the ecu? many thanks?
  9. thanks for this - i shall buy a new one to be safe as the engine was sitting for 2 years. just trying to remove all potential issues causing the dumping of coolant
  10. Thread revival: Having just got the drag car up and running, i got down the strip yesterday for the first time at low speeds to check systems and after 3 runs i found the coolant system dumping coolant. Having just read this whole thread and the other posted im aware this may be the case of the fact i have used a bypass pipe where the heater matrix once was. would this cause over heating? i have ordered a new rad cap just in case and also to blanking plugs for the inlet and outlet of the block for the matrix pipes. Iv also removed the thermostat to allow constant flow. im hoping im not to late and i haven't done the head gasket in, but the car was just plodding around and not under huge load when this happened and was running absolutely fine.
  11. Might be there with the drag car if we get it mapped in time
  12. I have the same box, it's one of daveyps hybrids he built for me with the cable. So a supra stick should be ideal I guess?
  13. Been looking at the suprastick but thought I'd get some insight from you guys
  14. I'm running a standalone ecu and am intrested how people control there autobox? My ecu doesn't have a way of running the autobox so wondered if there was a way to use the stock ecu to still control the autobox but not anything else on a 2jzgte?
  15. yeah i did think about that, but really want the shift lock working just incase i try burning out in reverse or attempt to launch in neutral
  16. Has anyone on here changed the automatic gear shifter knob for a universal one, ie top push button? the issue i have is the drag car is left hand drive and the shifter is the wrong way round. im looking at the simple top button universal shifters, which look like they'd do the trick but have to order them from worlds away. just thought id see if anyone else has done anything?
  17. Having got all the main components in place, it was now the dreaded time for wiring. Originally i planned on tackling it myself by transferring over the original looms from the road supra but i was put in contact with Nodland and lydon took on the job along with getting me a sponsor from ECU master who supplied an EMU ecu. The work lydon has done so far is so tidy i dont know how he has so much patience but i recommend him to anyone. Lydon has now tied himself to the team and is going to be a big part in getting the car up and running and will hopefully be supporting at the races next year. I also will be advertising a charity for Leukaemia as a massive thank you to lyndon and to raise awareness to everyone about the charity. - - - Updated - - - Cheers dude, ill bare that in mind
  18. With running the shoot iv wanted to run a drag spoiler, but what i original had i couldn't stand so i spent quite a while cutting a shapping a few bits of alloy after having a look at all sorts of different types of drag spoilers and this is what i came up with. With the supra having such a rounded back it was very difficult to get such a bland flat surface to look right, but over all it should be functional.
  19. Been a while since the last update, been busy with work and other commitments but things have moved on with the drag car. Having several dealings with the guys at custom chrome they gave me a load of bits to mock up the exhaust, so i went for it on that front and cut up the original downpipe and had a play having the exhaust straight out the side, in 3". I then had to get some 2"5 inch and make up the waist gate pipe, i decided to take this up into the 3" thinking it would be easy but it wasn't, any who perseverance and lots of screaming later i managed to get it all fitted.
  20. Id like to think it would be ready well before, but we will see, always unexpected bridges to cross.
  21. Ideally I want a 4000+ stall but finances at the moment can't provide. So the 3600 will have to do. Not sure about power at the moment probably about 650hp for now.
  22. Been a while since my last update, I was made redundant at the beginning of December last year so had to put everything on hold and thought id have to sell the project but thankfully not. Since then iv made a bit of head way. The engine loome has been sent off to Lyndon to be developed along with an EMU ecu who are now sponsoring the build. More on this to follow. The radiator and intercooler have been mounted and plumed in as guidance at this point so I can get the proper pipe work made up. The fitment was somewhat challenging considering it was supposed to have the fuel cell and pump mounted in front of the engine, I didn't quite fancy that idea so have opted to put it in the back.
  23. Having thought about this, im going to run a short belt from crank to water pump and use the tensioner but remount it. should be an interesting project
