oh right, so how would removing the exhaust make the seals go? I will be running a standard downpipe and y-pipe so do you think that would be ok or do you think i will need to leave the cat in for restriction? i dunno if it changes anything but my downpipe will also be at the standard diameter for about 1-2 feet more than standard as i have to drop it across to the other side of the car to the standard position in my nissan.

the reason i heard a restrictor ring is required is to prevent a boost spike that will cause the seals to go on the turbos. im dropping the same engine in a 200sx and will just be using the cat as a restriction, hopefully thatll be enough.

well, thats the bit i also have. On the aristo sump the face it bolts to is at an angle so it points into the block. I assume on some engine somewhere it has one that comes out at an angle to suit this sump, i just dont know what????

cheers chris, it seems the y-pipe on your engine is the same as mine, it looks like ill have to modify the one ive got then, bugger. Its cast into the top part of the sump as you say so it must have been machined and used on some engine but ive no idea what. My sump came from an aristo so i guess they dont use it on that. weird. For reference its the metal y-pipe at the bottom of this picture with the number 2 embossed on it

Hi all, first post, ill make it a goodun. Im putting an aristo fron sump on my 1jz, and found that the standard Y-pipe that bolts onto the sump that the turbos drain into will foul on the block. Im hoping this all makes sense, i was wondering what they were like on the supra 2jz sump because id like to fit something standard that i know wont fail rather than cutting and welding my 1j y pipe. I hope this all makes sense, i can throw a couple of pictures up in the morning if it will help but im hoping someone will understand.
