  1. I have the accelerator pedal position circuit malfunction fault coming up on the diagnostic tool, does anybody know anything or had trouble with this before? this is not the same as the tps faults. any help would be much appreciated. its a 1998 vvti, I know it sounds like a wiring problem but nothing has changed in that respect, and when I clear the fault the revs flutter up and down for a few mins, then goes into limp mode and the same fault re-appears.
  2. think you can get an expansion tank off whifbits that fits nicely between the battery and headlight. have a look
  3. I'm not just saying the smoke would put me off, but also the car looks white in the photos? But advertised as grey? Good luck whoever bought it
  4. DO NOT buy this car, I spoke to the chap on the phone, when hey starts it up it smokes from the engine, he told me he wanted 11000 for it, it was on p/heads for 9000 but on gumtree for 8500. he tried selling it on here a while back (January I think) and it needed mapping at the time, he said he was selling as he was leaving the country and now hes selling coz hes moving into another flat? all seems a bit strange to me. it looks like a lovely car but seems too good to be true

That's the ones, and yeah frost blue not green lol. Maybe get a uk auto with lowish miles and convert it then? The one from Paul brown in the red looks stunning from the outside but I think there's a thread on here about him somewhere not rating him too well. There are plenty of autos still around at the mo though.

Well looking at the uk one for future investment. I have a 98 vvti auto already, but yeah, would rather a manual

Ok thanks, I've seen one in teal green is it? And it's 11000 with 122000. Just don't like the colour. And a red one with 102000. But it's up for 15000? What do you think on them?

Thanks a lot guys, it just seems a lot when you see over 100000 miles but like ya say, it's how it's done those miles. I want to buy one and garage it for the future. Obviously a manual will be worth more than an auto but how much?

I am looking to buy a manual tt uk spec. What's the most amount of miles someone would buy one with? Please help. Seen a couple but have over 100000 on the clock
  12. It was back in January yeah, the guys from Norwich, I don't think it is now, he said it was on gumtree but i can't find it. There was a mob number so I txt'd it on the off chance. He rang back and said someone had put a deposit on it, then viewed it today and didn't buy. At the time he said he was selling to move abroad. Now says he's moving apartment?
  13. Has anyone seen that aero supra for sale? It was being sold in January but needed mapping? It was a flat grey then. Now it is white. Any one have any clues on this as it is back up for sale? The guy is selling for less than 10 grand with over 20 grand spent on it? Bit fishy?

hi, no haven't tried to drive with the diag tool plugged in, only stationary, although the tps fault seems to have cleared and the app fault stayed up. after clearing that fault I started the car and it idled fine down to 700rpm, rev'd the engine a coulpe of times and it went into limp mode again and the app fault came back up again. reset the etcs-i again and started the car and it idled fine again, then the revs climbed to 1100 rpm and sat there. I revd it a couple of times and although it didn't go into limp mode, the revs stayed at 1100. I will be taking it out hopefully sunday once I refit my calipers back on so I cn try it then.

I have already changed the tps and the fault code for that has gone now. I just have the accelerator position pedal sensor fault now so I might try and get one of those and hopefully problem solved. Do you know what was actually wrong with yours Abz? Cheers for the help anyways

Chris could you do me a favour please mate? I checked the tps ohms and they were all over the place, I've replaced the tps and the fault code for that has gone/eliminated. I still have the accelerator pedal position sensor fault up. And have checked them ohms between terminals cl+ and cl- and have almost 6 Ohms. Could you check yours and let me know please? It may just need adjusting or cleaning possibly? Thanks. Lee
  22. does anyone know a good place/supplier to get a carbon look dash kit from?

Looked at the tb again, it seems throttle lever side of it doesn't open the butterfly valve until about 4/5 of the way round. Took it off yesterday and will take it apart tonight and have a look. Can't believe I missed that lol but it does sound like the mechanism ( if there is one) on the tps side is clunking or something. Any ideas? Cheers Chris

Ok thanks for all the info, yeah I could do with a set of wiring diagrams if possible that would be great, will also check voltages aswel as ohms. Also do you know where to get hold of a repair manual for the vvti at all? Cheers
