    OMG cant belive

+1 I'm relatively new and you guys are great!
  7. I was at work ( I work on the M25, sorry for slowing you down guys ) and as I was walking back to the Hilux a beautiful silver supra drove past and I saw a beautiful brunette driving it, kinda had that Angelina Jolie look going on and that fact she was driving a supra made her 100 times hotter! I wish more girls drove jap cars
  8. Yeah I suppose there's not that much more room...but I just love supras and always have favourite car in the world!
  9. Chris Wilson - Yeah I forgot to add in that I'll sell the mr2 for about £3500 because that;s what it's worth yet my expenses would be the engine and car which come to less than £1000, and my boss was extra nice and said I can use the workshop for as long as I like outside working hours. I've also though about running costs and I understand supra's are a hell of a lot to maintain but hopefully it will be slightly cheaper being a mechanic and I'm driving a pretty juice 3sgte engine at the moment (300 bhp approx).
  10. Ahh I know lol but the mr2 is a bit impractical in terms of only having 2 seats
  11. I'm 19 but I drive an mr2 turbo everything's declared on it and a uk spec supra is £80 more a year than my mr2 but if I get an import supra well the NA goes up by nearly £2000 and they won't touch me on imported turbo supras
  12. insurance company are charging wayyyyyyyy too much for imports [sAD][/sAD]
  13. man that 3sgte supra is powerful man! Cheers jevansio finding the supra isn't too hard it's just funding a uk spec is a nightmare
  14. Hmmm if it's got the same engine mounts and its the same make of car it's a lot easier, but if you're trying to put a completely different engine in it's a hell of a lot of work yeah i agree lol
  15. Oh yes I've seen that before, that's a hell of a lot of work though! [sAD][/sAD]
  16. The only reason I'm putting the engine in the mr2 is because I found the parts relatively cheap and there's no charge for labour as it's all myself. It's just an investment for the car lol. Anyone know of any other good engine swaps? [GRIN][/GRIN]
  17. I've promised him my mr2 if I get my uk spec supra lol. Yeah it's a rev3 and yeah the rev4 and rev5 turbos go for quite a lot still [GRIN][/GRIN] Also if I were to steal a uk spec supra I'd have to search for a long time, only have ever seen one in my life.

    Good idea?

Hi guys, I still haven't bought a supra yet and it's quite depressing but what me and my work mate have decided to do is team up after work (we work in a garage btw ) and get a uk spec supra shell and find the engine etc because uk spec supras are a bit too much for my pocket and the insurance company said it would be okay to do that. Or secondly, sup up other cars and sell them for a higher prices for example, we've got a 3sgte mr2 engine that we bought for about £400 and a salvaged mr2 rev4 for about £500. Repair costs won't be too much and I've got an mr2 turbo gearbox sitting in the garage. Anyway mr2 rev4 turbos must go for at least £3500, baring in mind the car isn't a cat A,B,C or D just the engine was knocking. So these are the only two ways I could get my UK spec supra What do you guys think?
  19. I've just come off the phone to admiral and sometimes I can get insured on NA's, used to always get insured on the uk spec twin turbo and now they're saying I can't get insured on any of them! :| and yeah I agree it depends on who you get on the other end of the phone...try and get a woman because this time round I think this guy knew his supras lol
  20. I'm with admiral, the only reason I can get insured on these high insurance group car is because my family have a multicar policy which reduces the premium, plus I'm the second driver on the car which also reduces it a lot. I'm not fronting the insurance putting my dad as the main driver because he drives my car more than I do anyway because I'm at uni at the moment plus he seems to like jap cars aswell
  21. Yeah insurance groups don't seem to matter to my insurance company either, I think they just don't like imports, I can get insured on a uk spec supra or a v spec skyline GTR (which is a uk car aswell) for about £80 more a year than my mr2. But they're both so expensive :| I mean there's nothing wrong with my car it's still fast and the 3sgte engine is powerful enough just I've always loved supra's from day 1!
  22. I might do that actually, did the same thing with my mr2 half a year ago, thanks for the idea
  23. no one else seems to want to insure me, I'm 19 years old by the way lol ah I might just have to stick with my mr2 for a bit longer
  24. ah and I was getting my hopes up now I have to save for a uk spec
  25. Oh right thanks Carl yeah most insurance companies don't like imports unfortunately but the SZ is an import aswell but can't seem to understand why I can only get insurance on a 1993 car :S oh well at least I've managed to get insured
