  2. Im on my mobile trying to search, you have link? Il try looking tonight otherwise will give cr turbos bell also
  3. bumping this before i have to get mine refirbed
  4. need a replacement 1st turbo as mine is damaged. been offered this one, but on "back blades" (second lot) it looks like a chip in. will this make a hissing sound as spools up? or wont it matter as its not on the 1st set of blades on the front of the turbo?
  5. going to be putting some new replacement turbos on soon, need the gaskets. im only changing the 1st turbo, but looks like the whole lot has to come off. if anyone knows which ones il need be great
  6. UPDATE i purchased the Diagnostic machine, well impressed with it! £16 delivered from ebay. car has 3 errors 1) P0015 - Camshaft position A actuator B-Bank timing over retarded 2) P0366 - Camshaft position Sensor B Bank 1 CKT Range/Performance 3) P0050 - HO2S Bank 2 Sensor 1 heater circuit SOLUTION? P0050 - think thats just replace the O2/lambda sensor what about P0366 + P0015 though? is it the sensors which are broke? or is the timing out?
  7. Are the turbos available? or are they going with the engine. Ps if you do have any j speec trbos please advise :-)
  8. Bump Can anyone point me in right direction.... Guna have to fork out for rebuild otherwise
  9. Looks pritty retro, early 90s . Same style as the hks EVC 1 Cool and rare i suppose :-)
  10. For extra peace of mind have extra gauges, water temp gauges tell you the exact temp of the rad. Radiators are around 80degrees so yea pritty hot to touch :-)
  11. thanks for the input guys, ive just purchased the reader code from ebay. will report back next week. only symptoms i have is its really heavy on juice, my mrs drives it so i dont know the exact mpg. she says its gone so bad it she can nerly watch the needle moving. she has said theres no power in it, but this has been like this from when we had it. my mate also said that those models have no power in them anyway so im not to bothered about the power of it. but the fuel consumption NEEDS to be good. just for the record id never buy a BMW lol, dont think they are quality at all
  12. Ok thanks. But if i dont have any engine managemnt light on, doesnt that mean there are no ecu errors?
  13. its a 2001 316ti no warning lights have come on, but its going through loads of fuel! before i buy loads and loads of parts, which i may not need, is there any way of finding out? or shall i just buy the following and hope for the best? o2 sensor, spark plugs, fuel filter check for vacuum leaks
  14. yes as mellonman has stated "i cant be bothered" to update this, nothing to do with me working 6 days a week or anything, i cant be bothered apparently... anyway, yes for anyone who has similar problem, one of the fins on the 1st turbo became damaged, must have been when it was exposed. lesson too all you can never be too careful when working with the turbo. i thought i was very careful, obvious not enough. when new turbo is on il edit this post
  15. thats defo broke... when the car is switched off its suposst to rest on 0, not 736 mmhg. i wouldnt say its a common fault, ive had my gauges for about 7 years and put them in about 4 different cars and still work unless the vacuum hose has come off the boost source
  16. Think thers only admiral and direct line who do multi vehicle policies. Ok if your cars are relativly standard. Neither cover serious mods
  17. does it whine when you are just turning the wheel? or do you mean a slight grunt when it wont turn any more?
  18. Yea i will check both of them when i get them off. Will report back :-)
  19. must be in good condition, minimal play, no smoke or bad oil seals if you have one let me know
  20. true, but a re-coned turbo, would be better than a broken turbo also think who re-conditions them plays a big part there too hmm looks ok in pictures, will let you know next week!
  21. ok cheers mate. been looking at the epic guide of all time here, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?82952-Blitz-Twin-Turbo-Installation looks asif i would be able to just remove number one turbo relatively easy. well my plan was to just refirb the 1st turbo, if i have to refirb the second turbo too its going to be quite costly. so now youv made me think of a second hand one lol
  22. ah right. i was just showing the type of damage i have on mine thats all, but on the compressor wheel not the exhaust one. i had all the turbo pipes and vacuum pipes taken off to clean up and replace, something must have got in there somehow whilst it was exposed (was carefull, obvious not enough) ive seen the guide how to remove the 2 turbos, want to know if i have to follow that procedude to remove them both or can i just remove the 1 turbo. if the second turbo is fine and in good shape, am i ok to leave that one and just replace the 1st turbo?
  23. the pic isnt mine, im showing you the silimar damage i have on mine, its on the 1st set of blades on the 1st turbo (think they are called the inducers) dude, unsure what your last coment is relating to, do you mean then if i have similar damage to the picture ive posted, that it wouldnt always create a whistling sound?
  24. Yea dude, that damage isit always the sign of an object going through it? Or do they fail over time. I was carefull nothing went in there, or are yhey super super sensative so if any sort of debris would cause such damage.. If the second turbo is fine cant see there being any need to replace?
