  2. We should start a supra guitar fans group. FWIW I have a bunch of guitars - including an 11.5 lb 1994 LP standard. The last time I played a full gig with that, I had backache for a week!
  3. Hi All, I have an A02B small case differential. This is the torsen II LSD with the 200 mm ring gear and 3.71 final drive ratio from a late-model auto TT. The differential is in great condition, but I'd like to lower my gearing to n/a spec, so does anyone have an A01B torsen differential that they would like to swap it for? Patrick

  8. I just checked, and the ABS sensors are 2 wire, so they are using variable reluctance - the same as the 2 wire sensor on the gearbox. That means they'll be generating a sine wave, not a square wave, and you won't be able to use one to drive the speedometer without some intervening signal processing.

  11. It looks like I may have spoken too soon about being able to drive my speedometer from the EcuMaster, it doesn't support routing that signal to 1 of the custom output channels. So I'm now left with an interesting problem: the 2 wire speed sensor on the tiptonic box works using Variable Reluctance. That means it's output will be a sine wave which increases both in frequency and voltage as the speed goes up - basically, it generates a small AC current. The signal that the speedometer is expecting is a 5 V square wave with 4 pulses per revolution. This is the same problem that Rossi Dave has - and the simple solution is that I need to buy a Dakota universal speedometer signal interface to convert the AC from the 2 wire VR sensor to the 5 V square with the speedometer needs. The alternative is to do some homebrewed electronics to convert the AC into a square wave, and then put together a signal divider to get it to the right frequency. Oh what fun...

  13. Hi All, I'm trying to convert a manual transmission Soarer back to automatic gearbox (don't ask why). The engine loom I have does not have the plugs to connect to the automatic gearbox. If there's anyone who has already converted from auto to manual - do you still have the plugs that connect to the auto gearbox? Most people snip them off and throw them away. If you still have them, please let me know. Patrick
  14. Unfortunately, the lack of the 2nd speed sensor is an issue if you are not using a stand-alone which supports modifying the speedometer input/output signals. If so, you are going to need to either spend some money another device or find a way to divide the existing 12 pulse signal from the gearbox into a format which the speedometer will understand (Sorry Dave!). There are a couple of DIY projects on Youtube which show how to do this (here is one: ), but they do require a certain amount of electronics skills. I should be putting this box into the car within the next few weeks, so I will update on progress.
  15. Hi all, 1st off I'd like to say a very big thank you to David P (and to Rossi Dave) for putting together my Hybrid gearbox using an A340E from an Aristo Tiptronic. This is apparently only the 2nd one he's ever done, although we found out a couple of issues on the way. The biggest issue is around the electronics - apparently the a340e Tip only has one speed sensor. It does not have the 3 wire speed sensor which would drive the speedometer. For me that is not such a big issue, as I am driving the gearbox from a SupraStick transmission controller which can work from the ABS sensors to calculate the correct shift timing for the gearbox. I also don't have to worry about the speedometer as I am currently driving my it from my EcuMaster stand-alone, which provides the ability to not only modify the speed sensor input signal (so it can work from the gearbox speed sensor or from an ABS sensor), but can also modify the output signal to match almost any kind of speedometer - a neat device.

Hi all, Unfortunately I've had a continuing problem with my left hand for many years (it was caused by a motorcycle accident damaging the nerves and tendons), and it's getting worse as the years go by. Driving with a manual transmission is becoming more and more painful, and it's getting to the point where I have to do something about it. For that reason I'm gonna have to do the very unusual step of converting from a manual transmission to an automatic. I'm currently running a 1JZ engine with a GT3076 turbo, an R154 gearbox and an ECUMaster stand-alone engine control. I still have my old auto box sitting in the back of the shed, but to put it back on the car, I'm going to need an auto transmission controller. I used to have a Suprastick which would have done the job perfectly fine, but I sold it long time ago. One other alternative might be to somehow wire in the original ECU, but how would that work if it wasn't also controlling the ignition? Does anyone have any recommendations? I know that Syvecs do one, but I don't happen to have 3 grand lying around.
  17. HI, I have a set of stock alloy wheels from a 1995 RZ. These are the 17 inch staggered 8J front, 9 1/2 J rears. Condition is pretty average, the fronts are scratched so if I wanted to put them on my car I would want to refurbish them. They come with the centres. I'm looking for about 200 quid for them, not including postage. But feel free to make me an offer.   19. Hi All, I'm trying to get a set of front lower control arms for a 1994 supra, but they don't seem to be available anymore in the UK. There are plenty of places in the US that advertise them, but every single one I have tried states that they do not ship internationally. Does anyone know a good supplier who can send them to the UK?
