  1. I presume the thermostat will only fit in one way round ?
  2. Sorry for interupting your thread but I saw a Supra on Ebay a little while ago with the whole of the dash covered in the "Bombing" Jap art/sticker/vinyl .......does anybody know what I mean and where I can get mine done ....I thought it looked great ......Its usually just petrol flaps that are done this way ........am I making sense ????
  3. I had recently done my Celica and after draining and with the thermo out I connected the garden hose up to the top and pushed clean water through until it ran clear at the bottom then let all of that drain out, inserted new thermo followed by new coolant and all was fine ......Is this an acceptable method for the Supra ?
  4. Reading this makes me not want to attempt my coolant and thermo change ....... even with it being the dirty colour that it is
  5. Not exactly sure what wears out most but the guy who told me was Buffalo Bob off the Toyota Estima owners club, he is a wizard with toyota engines ....petrol and diesel , he assured me that this was the case with any engine that is not specifically designed to run on gas ......Only because of his skill and knowledge did I take this as fact and as such it put me off . Please do not let this put you off but I recommend you read ALL the info you can on this .......especially as its your SUPRA
  6. I have been informed that converting a vehicle to LPG will shorten the engine's lifespan unlike modern vehicles which are manufactured to run on gas . The Supra was made to run on petrol and although conversion to gas is an option, it is (in the long run) detrimental to the engine . It was an option that I was consdering on my girlfriends Toyota .
  7. I have a receipt that came with my car that shows gearbox, axle and brake fluid change at a whopping £89.54 ......£22.21 of which was spent on fluids........I doubt very much that they were as thorough as the soarer flush !!!
  8. I have tried the jacking up method myself and it is such a b*ll ache , best way is have the Waxoyl sprayed on via a compressor and that way it penetrates everywhere . Warm the Waxoyl to room temp and it sprays out no problem but move quickly as it thickens as it cools .
  9. Mine seems to "drop" down into 1st when slowing down under braking a little early and you can certainly feel the "engine braking" come in .....maybe this is something to do with the speed convertor ??? .......I also get 1 and 2 !!!
  10. Waxoyl will eat old rust and prevent new .....a decent jetwashing on a ramp and when dry blast it with Waxoyl, this is my preffered way of underbody protection .
  11. I'm pretty sure that mine doesn't look like that , maybe the housing that you have shown is further up but I'm sure the part I can see looks like a sandwich plate with "fittings" for "hoses/pipes" which aren't being used and yes from what I can remember it does look as though one of the "blanking studs" is seeping ..........I will investigate further and try to get a better look .....when it stops raining ....now I know what I'm looking or that is .
  12. Aha....thanks for the reply Digsy, I wonder why that is on it then ?????
  13. I presume the difference is the 2jz ge doesn't have pipes for cooling connected to the housing and the 2jz gte does ? Well mine is an N/A and doesn't seem to have them, but looks like there are huge size allen key "studs" in it and it looks as though one may be leaking ......can I take this out and threadlock it ?
  14. Keep mopping up that sludge every time you take cap off and it should (if all is well) clear up
