  1. I'm new to turbo's so bare with me, I have a soarer intercooler and pipes but I have just swapped all the pipework for supra intercooler pipes, I have only been trying it in drive, it will drive smoothly and accelerate upwards as long as I'm gentle on the pedal but if I try to hurry it then it holds back as if cutting out/missing..... I have no gauges.
  2.:angry:Rev counter wasn't working either so I modified it by soldering the wire across the contacts and that doesn't work still....... It's a bloody good job the sun is out :@ - - - Updated - - -:angry:Rev counter wasn't working either so I modified it by soldering the wire across the contacts and that doesn't work still....... 3. Well I connected those and they sent my temp rocketing to the top (engine's cool)....what did you do with wire 12 from the soarer grey 14 pin plug? It's a thick black and red :-)
  4. Well its still not boosting, all clamps and hoses ok with no leaks.....any more ideas? Yes graham I did :-P
  5. Which wire did you connect to pin 19 of the same orange supra plug? :-)
  6. I'll have another look at my clamps
  7. Hi all, Well I've done it, I put the 1jz motor in my Supra over the past few days and I have a few issues, still have a few wiring gremlins to sort but the car refuses to boost, I'm new to turbos but the best way I can describe it is like the dump valve hiss whilst refusing to take off, like it's trying to cut out.....accelerate's fine without booting it..... Any ideas? Also, can anybody tell me what colour wire from the soarer loom connects to pin 24 on the supra orange plug for the dash temp? Thanks.
  8. I had this after putting runflats on the rear (285's) but luckily I had 5mm spacers on and taking them off cured it......Don't suppose you have spacers on ?
  9. I so wanted to go to this and booked the day off work well in advance, but then it wasn't happening and I was gutted .....but now it is happening and I have plans.........gutted....again.
  10. I'm kinda interested too.....Was it expensive?
  11. Its definately the flex joint on the first decat, mine was the same and I spent ages and ages trying to find the "farting" noise by replacing joints, gaskets and even manifolds....I bought a couple of metre's of heat wrap and bound the shit out of the flexi .....hey presto, its virtually dissappeared
  12. Yes I'd be quite happy with one in that condition
  13. I will be needing one of these soon and just wondered how available they are (used) .....or if I will need to start searching early? What kind of money do they fetch?
  14. Yes I'm using these with no problems.......Oh and yes it's defo dizzy O ring, did mine last year.
  15. Don't you need to have a new transmission tunnel welded in too to fit the manual box ?
  16. Welcome.....Don't limit your search to just Merseyside dude;)
  17. Whats the mileage on your soarer engine? Just curious as to how long the turbo's last before needing refurb....I presume it is the soarer ?
  18. Make sure everything induction wise is tight and you are not sucking any air in where you shouldn't be.
  19. Can usually tell by watching your revs climbing much quicker and out of sync with the speedo.
  20. Mine has been on permanently since I got the car but all lights work fine , must be the cheapo dodgy fog/brake light doodah.
  21. Socket and many extension bars then you'll be able to access it from underneath
  22. Mine was heavy as hell, I propped it up with a golf brolly and packed magazines between the rusted part and the top of the tailgate......don't get any bloody help with anything I do on mine ....but that's ok , I have ways and means
