  1. You've been to my house then Cheers Jake, just trying to catch up with you on the improvment front mate. Buddy we will definatly have to catch up soon. Will sort some pics. soon Alex. Go on go get it, you know it makes sense.
  2. Cheers guys. Fastnfurious, not microwave oven, it would have to be a massive one, just a normal electric oven, misses not to impressed but she's used to me and my car obsessions by now By the way, loving your XXR's man.
  3. Cheers guys. I know what you mean about the paint Josh but I wasn't expecting too much as it's only silver paint at the end of the day but the dark day is not helping the matter. I'll get a pic, up of the front Westy but at the moment it's raining
  4. Like quite a few on here my headlights are not in the best of condition. Both have flaking chrome and the nearside light gets condensation on the inside. I had a two day window this week, car is a daily driver, so I bit the bullet and took the nearside light out to attempt a quick referb. on it. I only worked on the chrome rings as time was limited but intend to do them both in full at a later date. So first thing to do is take out the light. This went well and was alot easier than I thought it might be. Next to separate it. This was the part that worried me most, into the oven 80 for 10 mins. This was not enough to get it apart so another 5 mins. Some elbow grease and we were good to go. The chrome was really bad on the big ring but all would need to look the same so prep. was done to all. Next to spray. Three coats of undercoat and three coats of Halfords chome paint. OK I know it is not going to be as good as chroming but as a quick fix I felt it was worth a punt. Left for a day and then unrapped. Now again back to the scary bit. Back into the oven at 80 this time for 17 mins. to ensure the sealant was really soft. Pushed back together with ease, thankfully. Now back onto the car. Sorry it's a bit picture heavy. That is the results, what do you guys think? I’m quite pleased myself. I don't think I will have cured the condesation problem but now I have the confidence to do the job again more thoroughly at some point and get the offside light done. Hopefully if you have been thinking of doing this yourself this will give you the confidence to have a go, it was alot easier than I thought it would be and I think was well worth the effort.
  5. Lovely wheels mate, I'm so jealous. They will look sweet as, on your Supra.

    unbelievable

Looks very nice and at that price you really can't go wrong. I look forward to see what you do to it, make sure you post up the progress.
  9. No mate, hoping for a bit of good (dry) weather over xmas and I will get the Interior out. Failing that I'll get the headlights out and give them a referb. Have you driven yours with the strut brace yet? If so what's it like? I was thinking of putting a front and rear one onto mine to stiffen up the ride with the roof off because the roads here are soooo bad.
  10. Be good to meet up with you guys for a drink, I'll be over your way for new year so if you're about I'll bell you.
  11. Right, that's it, I'm coming over to set fire to your Supe. You are making me look lazy and my car c**p. . Sorry you have had a bit of ag. mate but your car is looking really good. Your hard work is paying off and I'm loving the strut brace, good work.
  12. Looks great as always Marc. Looks lower than ever, do you get any rubbing from the front tyres?

    Number 7

Looks like a nice straight motor that. Chrome on headlights look like they are in very good condition. Also likeing the colour.
  19. Hope you have a good one mate. Be sure to
  20. Sad news. I found myself shocked by the news as it was announced on the radio. I always admired Speed as a player and he always seemed to be the perfect Professional on and off the pitch. My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time. On a football front, the greatest honour I can give any player is that having seen them play I hoped that one day they would sign for the team I support, Gary Speed was one of those players. If it is depression, I feel for his family, I have done alot of training to help people who suffer it and it really can be a life breaking illness. So young, a real shame. RIP Gary.
  21. Hi there and welcome. I am also ex-FTO. Had two and loved them, only fault was front whell drive but so neutral was a great drive with a really revvy engine. (I remember you aderookie, a lovely looking FTO). Here's a pic. of my old one, sorry for the rubbish phone pic.
  22. Dude! Sorry man did not realise it is your birthday. Have a good one mate.
  23. Good work Alex. Always rewarding when you do the work yourself. To be honest I prefer the look without the aerocatches, but I understand the peace of mind you get from the bonnet being secured and it still looks really good. A nice style bonnet that, (I would be interested in it if you are selling it next year, if you start looking for a buyer in the future). Really glad you are able to keep the car buddy.
