  1. hi mate sorry got not driveway as its a terrace house How will they bring my quote down by so much as they quoted me £2900. Thanks
  2. Hi mate I've tried them all but all coming in expensive minimum £2200, one of them mentioned that if the Supra was a twin turbo then it could be as much as £6800, simply shocking. Its like they are confident that the car will be stolen or crashed within the first years of ownership.
  3. The type that do get stolen are likely to be cheap ones just for a joyride or more expensive ones that can be sold on as a whole or for parts. I can't really see anybody targeting a £3500 Supra that has Cat 1 security. If it didn't have any security then its a lot more likely. The street i live is generally safe although there tends to be mainly UK cars parked but some of them are quite highly valued.
  4. Martini it states next to your Avatar that your in Manchester City Centre which is rated 5th. How have you managed to get insured? Thanks Ady
  5. It just sounds a bit extreme that i'll have to move out of Bradford in order to drive a Supra.
  6. Do you mean registering it with the DVLA at a different address and how do you mean legally.
  7. I know mate I thought at worst it would be double that compared to a good area, but it seems to be more like 3 or 4 times as much
  8. Hi mate Just did an online quote with them and it came out with £2164.02 and that is a UK spec Supra with no modifications. Import would probs taken it near the £3000 mark, shocking
  9. hi mate Its not a lot but £10 Halfords Gift Voucher if i can find it. Could buy you something like a bottle of Autoglym.
  10. I just feel like i'm being discriminated against as some people with similar age, no claims bonus etc, but on a different postcode are paying under £700 on modified twin turbo Supras.
  11. hi mate Generally find UK spec to be more expensive plus i prefer imports as they are generally in better condition and lower mileage.
  12. Thanks for this Will give them a try and let you know of the outcome Ady
  13. Hi mate Bell were the ones that quoted me £1800 which was the cheapest quote i've had so far. That doesn't include protected NCB so its likely that it will go up by another £100
  14. Hello all I'm new to this site and hoping to buy a manual non turbo import Supra very soon subject to work arrangements. However i have a major problem regarding insurance as i can't seem to get quoted anything below £1700 fully comp and have tried all the major companies including those that insure Japanese imports such as Sky insurance who quoted me £2900 I feel that this quote is very unfair judging from the following points:- 31 years old 8 years no claims bonus 0 points on license No accidents Car will have Cat 1 security. However the bad points are:- Live in a very high risk postcode which is Bradford (BD) and is classed as excluded. Car will be kept on road as have no garage or driveway. I feel getting quoted a minimum of £1800 is still very unfair as i'm sure that the worst postcode owner could be charged double that compared to a good postcode. I've also generally found keeping your car in a garage or driveway only reduces the quote by around 5%. I had the same problem with my previous Japanese import (Toyota Starlet Glanza V turbo) but managed to find a specialist company that could insure me, but that was because it was only 135bhp and a 1.3 litre car yet it was a turbo. I've already contacted them and they won't let me insure anything over 200bhp, yet i only want to be insured on a non turbo Supra. Anyway sorry for my first post insurance rant, but hoping somebody can help me out and filfil my goal of owning a Supra. I may even reward the person who could recommend me a company that could insure me for under £1000 fully comp a £10 Halfords gift voucher. Looking forward to your suggestions. Many thanks
