  1. I've had it happen a few times in my aristo. Always occurs when pulling out of junctions under a decent amount of throttle for some reason. I've usually put it down to low oil pressure or low fuel pressure caused by me changing direction and pulling away quickly causing fuel or oil surge and the fluids getting away from the pickups. Run no less than 1/4 tank of fuel and keep a close eye on the levels now and it seems to be helping. Maybe you had the same due to your rate of knots forcing the fluids to the rear, then sudden change to deceleration maybe caused everything to surge forward dropping the pressures and killing the engine for safety.
  2. See about getting some P-clips to secure that braided fuel line to the underside of the car. If those cable ties snap your line could end up hitting the road. Few P-clips riveted onto the car floor and you'll be nice and secure And keep the updates coming.... great to see progress on the car.
  3. Those radiator fittings are going to look amazing when all hosed up. You gonna get the aeroquips re-annodised to be totally blue to go with your theme of the blue/white? Or you going to stick with the factory blue/red combo ?
  4. Fitting my hypertune inlet to my VVTi motor and I was hoping for some input on how you guys have setup and plumbed in all the sensor that need retained from the stock inlet. for starters I don't need the brake master cylinder feed as my car is an aristo and uses a nitrogen accumulator system . So that makes life a tad easier. Any pics, info, diagrams would be great. Looking for a nice neat install of everything too as the engine bay is being tucked and smoothed so hoping to hide as much as possible below the inlet manifold itself.
  5. it'll be an auto diff on there.... or small case, whatever you prefer to call it. My aristo has a V16* box and a small auto diff and its at 3000rpm at 80mph in 6th. horrendous on long drives but absolutely brutal acceleration !
  6. I just have a big hardon for making things myself if possible as opposed to buying. Here was a previous effort for a mates Leon cupra. Ended up finishing it in wrinkle finish black. Looked quite good I thought
  7. no denying its a nice kit....but the Scotsman in me doesn't think its nearly £300 nice. Will either make up something myself as I have access to cable etc and can knock together a battery tray and will hunt out the other stuff needed.
  8. what about a hypertune inlet. ? They don't look to be as big as the greddy units and the TB flange also doesn't look as if its angled as much toward the turret
  9. See Mitchell knows about blowing the fuses. hahahaha Everything has been marked well and I've only had 2x tags come off when feeding the loom elsewhere...I was stressing about it but carrying on with connecting everything else soon leaves you with the 2 remaining wires to connect so no real biggy. What I am surprised with is how much dam earth cables there are on the car within the loom that all go to one single earthing bolt. shortening them and making multiple earth points has really helped make the loom neater too. and a lot less cumbersome. I'm still at the point where the looms are in place and tidily secured. But I wont be wrapping them entirely until I've checked all the lights etc once I've put power back into the electrics. definitely satisfied with the outcome so far. But getting there wasn't as fun or quick as expected. Need to get the battery cables in place now for the battery location then the fuel pump rela and wiring can go in its new home too. Any tips on the battery relocation ??? What size of wire to use since its a longer run , what type of breaker/cut off to use ??? also are you earthed off the battery to a location in the boot ??? Need to stop thread jacking Louis's thread though. Will probably start a ''wire tuck'' thread for any more questions
  10. ha.....I've not powered anything up yet through. That's gonna be the fun bit....Blowing up all the fuses
  11. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of you. Its now inside the car
  12. wheels sold last week and are off to a new home in finland. I've been looking at custom wheels from the states and have something in the pipeline. what happened with your wheels ?
  13. I think thats why i disliked it so much. I enjoyed finding where to route the wires and mount things. But the marking, cutting, extending, shortening, soldering was pretty boring. But i did find the last bit of what I've done so far went alot quicker and smoother than the initial bit of loom. Now i just need to work out how you got your alternator cable through and into that chassis leg !!!! haha In all honestly Louis. You might actually enjoy the tucking process. Think the supra is a lot easier that the aristo due to the ECU not being in the engine bay. And it will be well worth it. Look at hodge's , Mitchell's , and the one SRD are doing for Jay_NW just now . All absolutely stunning. Maybe start with a small bit of wiring and see how you get on. Then carry on from there.
  14. Hodge . I honestly have no idea where you find the patience for the wire tucking. Took me 2 weeks to do the engine bay wiring alone !!! still have the engine loom to work on and the battery/starter cables too !! nightmare ! does look kinda good with no wires in there. Just need to get a finger out and get welding now !
  15. I'm in the middle of a wire tuck and engine bay smoothing on the aristo right now........my advice. Don't do it !!! biggest headache I've ever undertaken but that could be because the aristo ECU was in the engine bay and are now located inside the car. Granted it should look good once done. But your car stands out enough as it is and I don't think it needs tucked or smoothed bay. The aristo on the other hand needs something like that to get it attention as the exterior is so plain.

  17. If you want aristo based questions answered then im 100% sure you will find the answers alot faster than on a supra based forum. No disrespect to the guys here. They know there stuff but the missconception that an aristo is just a supra with extra doors could be a costly mistake. Especially regarding the mk2 version and anything related to its electronics. Spend few minutes on club aristo using the search function and youll get both the above questions answered.
  18. you do not want to know . hahahahaa pretty much an entire rebuild of the chassis/engine etc
  19. so what other hardware is required for a battery relocation ??? be good to see exactly whats needed apart from the obvious battery, cables, battery box possibly.
  20. good stuff. definately the right decision. I cant provide that pic dude as the car is in 1 million peices just now with the engine etc out and all the plumbing disconnected. it just sat up on the inner wing attached to some existing wiring with a cable tie. And it never moved a mm since getting it back. nice simple install. Ryan might manage to take care of it when he comes over to map it as its a simple installation
  21. 1) in the centre console , dash or an obsilete switch blanking cover 2) ?????? 3) Mine was on the inner wing/strut area. Took a boost register from the nipple on the turbo discharge pipework 4) Replace stock sensor under inlet manifold 5) Bung in downpipe, or middle pipe 6) Mine is mounted in a oil filter sandwich plate 7) also mounted in sandwich plate 8) Bung in downpipe 9) Mine is mounted in the spare port/gauge connection on my aeromotive FPR
  22. I just so happen to have a set of 19 inch LM's for sale in staggered fitment but the centres are silver
  23. Maybe Alex (driftbear) could contact crail raceway to see about hiring it out for a weekend . The crail surface for drag racing is pretty bad but a drag strip is a drag strip. But they could maybe do a small time attack track on the saturday and 1/4 mile racing on sunday for the forum. Think they often allow camping on site and if that not for anyone then st andrews is nearby along with some other places with plenty accomodation and nightlife.
  24. looking really good. The paint finish inside your bonnet and straight from the gun actually looks better than some local bodyshop can manage on the exterior of a car with a few hours machining it !!!! keep up the good work
