  2. Thx guys, has anyone got Leons number i think i'll get him to do it. Dont fancy myself as a mechanic at all:) Leons in Bletchley outside Milton Keynes right? Cheers Ad.
  3. Any one know the rough price for a fan belt change, mines getting a little squeeky. Cheers
  4. Toyota charge over 100 pounds an independent garage will charge between 30-70 depending on how much re-aligning they have to do. I had the same problem and the alignment sorted it a treat.
  5. ok the place is: St. Eves Garage Units 23-25 Wedgwood Road Bicester OX6 7UL Tel 01869 249920 I got charged 29.38 for my 4 wheel alignment, which i reckon is very cheap. I had a vibrating problem under braking and some probs at high speed, but they sorted it for me. Hope thats of some help. Ad.
  6. got mine done in Bicester, cant remember the name but i'll find it for u tomorrow. they charged i think...25 initial charge and 25 per hour. it cost me 35 pounds and they only had to re-align one wheel. toyota would have charged 125+ for the same job. will post here tomorrow with details. Cheers Ad.
  7. What u gonna do with ur old 18" wheels?
  8. My induction kit sits right by the air inflow pipe, i get plenty of cold air and even when its 25+ degrees sat in traffic my car doesn't get hot. I would recommend one i have no problems at all.
  9. i will dig out the exact name for the problem tomorrow afternoon for you, it was on an AA report on my car, but it sounds identical to what you say, nothing to worry about..... take it to a garage they will know immediately what it is. ( I even had the same noise on a new clutch) and drove it for 6-7k and it made no difference at all. Oh and yup when your going by walls you can hear it!
  10. I know exactly what you mean, clutch in = no sound, clutch out when in neutral = a small ticking/clicking, its very simple although i cant think of what the thing is called. Had the same thing on my Saab, v-simple and cheap!
  11. I have a blitz sonic induction kit on mine, it was for jap spec but managed to get it on and the airflow metre is in the same place to!
  12. Is he your typical Volvo road hog? No offence intended, I'm sure your dad is very nice when not behind the wheel of the "Volvo":)
  13. Great link people, i went into Halfrauds yesterday to get a blanking plate/pocket, they said only available from Toyota, but went back today and got the Volvo one and yup perfect fit and only 15 sheets! My local car audio place quoted me £30!!! ( And whats wrong with Volvos?) hahaha -> that should happen to all Volvo drivers!
  14. Belts slipping sounds right to me, when they slip i would expect vibrating, where as a pump i feel would just make it more difficult to steer rather than vibrate. Well thats my uneducated opinion. it sort of makes sense.
  15. oh and any ideas on the turbo noise?
  16. Dam its the pump then, how much u reckon is it easy to fit?? cheers ad.
  17. Yeah changed the brake pads twice ( Due to wrong ones being sent first) its been like it for the 6 months i have owned the car, it has new tyres /brakes etc.... the nuts are on fine.
  18. When stationary or moving slowly when i turn the wheel quickly or slowly i get a whirring vibration from the wheel, i looked from the outside as my friend did it and my wheels vibrated shit loads!!! Very strange.... any one got any clues? Also do the turbos when below 4k but accelerating make a loud chugging noise that progresses in pitch - is this the build up to turbo 2? Cheers Ad.
  19. Nice one, i'll have to have a look tomorrow and investigate the difficult ones. Thought it seemed a bit easy at the start. Ad.
  20. Just acquired a set of Samco Turbo Hoses, any one got any pictures of their engine bay fitted with these? Got no diagram with the package so any help would be great! ( I have fitted two but have 3 left over! ) Cheers:rolleyes:
  21. As a few of you know i bought a cusco strut bar for my car, firstly the black large washer type circular "bits" that are on top of the suspension struts... do i remove em or leave em on? It sits lower with em off and i can tighten it up more and actually close my bonnet! Although it doesn't seem to fit as flush with em off. I removed the inside air scoop but its a very close thing closing the bonnet with the black "bits" on. And which way round does it go? I have it facing so that its sat towards the windscreen end more. Hope that makes sense. Oh and i dropped a nut into the bottom of the engine bay.. doh... this aint gonna get caught up in any thing is it? its just gonna fall off the tray when i hit 90 right and not fly off into any moving parts in the engine? Thanks Adam.
  22. Yeah heat shild sits where the two bolts by the air intake on the right, you have to remove the shield at the top front of the Rad when you take the air box off. It fits a treat. i am gonna get a camera tomorrow and take some pics! Watch this space Ad.
  23. Sry i haven't got a digi camera yet, but all i did was not use the metal bend that the J-spec would use. The Airflow metre staying in roughly the same place, the guy at racelogic was unsure about the fitting but its fine, i have now run 1k on it and no probs, stays cool even in traffic in the hot weather we've been having, and it sits just perfect for the air to reach it - better than where the j-spec would sit. If u need anymore help just gimme a shout. Cheers Ad.
  24. I Just put on a Blitz Sonic induction kit, was meant for a j-spec but i got it on no probs, it sits just by the air intake and is shielded from the heat to. Sounds great and no loss of performance! a little gain i feel. ( £300 though it wasn't cheap)
