  1. I had a similar problem to what you are having, the engine would start and run for about 1 second on the first start, and after then wouldn't start at all. After checking all the wiring, and even plugging back in the original ECU, I eventually traced it to a bad ground connection. The problem was where a previous installation that had tapped into the ground wire before it goes into the ECU, had loosened the connector pin in the plastic block, so when you plugged the ECU back in, the connection was short by only a couple of mm, so from the outside all looked o.k, but was infact not connecting. For some reason when the ECU was plugged in but not the Emanage, the engine would run o.k, so maybe the ECU gets a ground from a separate source as well? It took me a long time to find this, and working in a footwell it's not easy to spot small things like this with a hundred wires going everywhere!! I'm not saying this is your problem, but it would be worth checking the continuity of the ground wire from your main harness into the ECU and Emanage. Hope this helps.
  2. Just been searching on Supraforums, and the general understanding is that you could roughly double the standard spring rate if using a boost controller. i.e, if you want to run a max boost of, say, 1.6bar choose a 0.8bar spring, and then adjust up to your max with the controller. The spring rate on its own should give you somewhere close to minimum boost required (but it may depend on manifold and other exhaust restrictions, so may change by a few p.s.i) In my case I would look to run about the 1.5bar mark, so a 0.8 spring would be a good starting point.
  3. Anyone? Would I be right in assuming, that if I didn't have a boost controller, then I would control what level of boost I needed with the spring tension only?
  4. Hi, I am currently getting together some parts to go single turbo in the future, I will be probably be going the GT3582 route, mounted to a cast manifold. The car will be a daily driver, so good spooling and reliability is more important than outright HP. I am looking to buy a Tial 44mm wastegate, but what would be an ideal spring pressure to start with. It will also be connected to a electronic boost controller (AVCR), so I was thinking would a 0.8bar spring be a good start, and I could increase the boost with the controller, or should I start with a lower spring tension, and increase it more with the controller? Can any of you lads that have gone single turbo with a similar setup, advise me before I order one? Thanks.
  5. Saturday bump. Most parts are still available. Offers anyone? Will also have a drivers side door card available soon. Reasonable condition, some small marks. Photos to follow.
  6. If you are still interested, pm me and we'll sort something out. Thanks.
  7. A couple of photos to show condition. The wheel is in very good used codition, no cuts or nicks, just the usual shiny wear marks to the rim. Would like this collected please, as I don't think it is possible/legal to post with a lot of couriers because of the airbag. Looking for about £35? Thanks.
  8. O.K I have found another section of the Samco intercooler hoses, so now have four sections in total, as per the picture. All are in very good condition, and one section has never been fitted. The four sections are: turbo outlet to hole in inner wing, two sections that connect under the front of the car, and the final section that goes to the intake throttle body/plenum. Looking for about £65 posted.
  9. Okay, I have been inundated with PMs about most of the parts, so for the requests about the TEIN coilovers, I have uploaded some more pictures so the condition can be more easily seen. As mentioned before, they will probably require new ally spring platform rings and the old ones removed because they are seized in position (thanks to local council dumping salt every winter!) I have tried to move them but in the end the ally on the rings was breaking away. I enquired direct to Tein and they quoted approx £7 per ring for new ones. The part number is 95314, if anybody wants to check for themselves. I was going to drill and then split the old rings to get them off, then clean up the threads and then refit with new, but in the end I decided to change the whole suspension setup anyway. In the photos hopefully you will be able to see the splitting dust/crap shields, which would ideally be replaced when the new rings are fitted. I do not know the price of these. Cant see them being much more than 5-10 quid each though. Part number SAP24 94282. I have also included a couple of pics of the lower bushes on the front units, which are starting to squash up, I do not know if these are replaceable though. Hope this information helps. I would still prefer collection on these due to the weight, all in the four weigh approx 40kg. If anybody is able to arrange their own courier, then that would be o.k Anybody still interested?
  10. Hi, I am currently clearing out my garage to make a bit of room, and I have the following parts up for grabs if anyone is interested: All was fitted to a JSpec TT facelift(non VVTI) Standard plastic front bumper in black, O.K condition, no cracks, but may need respray. £30?Provisionally sold Awaiting payment/collection Standard plastic rear boot spoiler in black, O.K condition, minor small cracking to back edge, may need a respray. £25 Standard 4 spoke steering wheel complete with air bag (minus horn wire). Good condition. £30 Standard SMIC air duct, good condition. £10?+ postage Standard bumper plastic undertray (non active type), minor scratches, but not split. £10?Provisionally sold Awaiting payment/collection Front aluminium crash reinforcement bar, good condition. £15 Plastic air duct that connects to reinforcment bar, good condition. £10 Facelift front seats, complete with subframes. Good condition, one cigarette burn next to hinge point on lower section, but hardly noticeble. Drivers side electric, all in good working condition. Seats have no seatbelt mechanisms, as are now fitted to my new seats. £50? Tein type HA top adjustable coilovers. O.K condition, no leaks, but aluminium adjustment rings are seized and in poor condition (I have been told they are approx £7 each to replace) Rubber dust shields are starting to split. I was going to change the parts out myself, but in the end changed the whole setup.Ideally these will need some attention. £80?Sold Samco silicon top radiator hose in blue, unused. Sold Samco intercooler hoses in blue, I think I am missing one of the sections, but I can't remember! Good used condition.SOLD I am open to sensible offers to any of the above. I may be able to post some of the smaller items, but would prefer for the larger or heavier items to be collected. (arm that is touching spoiler in picture not included in sale, also Kawasaki petrol tank not included with seats, before anyone asks!!!) Thanks.
  11. I can't remember off the top of my head, the car is at another house at the moment, but I should be able to adjust them in the Racelogic software, as well as putting in my tyre sizes etc. I am looking for good base settings, and then I will be able to configure it to suit my wheels. Any help will be appreciated though.
  12. Hi, I have recently finished installing RLTC, with launch control, and Digi adjuster, to my J Spec TT 6sp BPU spec. The system was previously fitted to a 4 cylinder engine, on a Nissan 180SX, and am wondering if any kind member on here would help me with a good, working DAT file, that I could export to the system? I have two laptops that I can use to communicate with the control unit, one with a USB to serial adapter, the other an old IBM with serial port (but no USB, it really is that old!). So hopefully should be o.k. one way or the other. Can anybody help. Many thanks.
  13. Anyone got one? May have to put in a order this week for one from AutoSportWiring if not. Thanks.
  14. Can anybody help me? I am after a Fields Harness for a Facelift J Spec TT, non VVTI engine, to help me wire in my RLTC. Has anybody got one that they do not require anymore, or know of anywhere I can get hold of one in this country? I know I can get them from the States, but with shipping etc, it would cost well over £200, a bit too much for me to justify,at the moment! Cheers.
