  1. Not end of argument really ... I agree with your first argument that Windows phone 7 is a bit behind in terms of features when compared with an iPhone or an Android phone. It has only been in the market less than an year compared to other ecosystems. The new mango release has almost brought it on par with other smart phone OSes but still a bit behind in a few features. Also Abz you should update your phone to Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) to get the latest features. I disagree with you on the second argument about WP7 being less intuitive or lack of usability on the UI of the OS. In my opinion integrated hubs are more intuitive for a normal user (esp for an ex feature phone to smart phone convert) than thousands of apps.
  2. Honestly you cannot talk to a guy who thinks two cores takes less power than one core and increases battery life! You may aswell have 20 cores each competing and need no battery and the phone can run on thin air according to your argument! End of discussion ...
  3. Yeah Subaru legacy is a decent car. Pretty reliable and from my experience can easily get 150K miles on the engine with no issues as long as it is not abused and well looked after. The twin turbo version has decent bhp. But the boxer engines are a real pain in the ar** to fix when things go wrong. Even changing spark plugs & timing belts takes for ever on a 4 cylinder 4 cam motor. Expect to pay mega bucks if things go wrong! I would mostly advice you to avoid unless the cars been well looked after in good condition and has full service history. Check that the timing belts are replaced if not you are looking at atleast an extra £700 to get the job done properly.

  6. RIP Steve Jobs! We lost one of the titans of the tech industry! You sure freaking did!!! Take that ...
  7. Know this video series is just for a laugh but this video is technically wrong made on a rumor (unlike the other one with iPhone5). Actually all phones including the beta phones, developer build phones, nodo and pre-nodo phones all got the mango update across all the carriers and handset manufacturers.
  8. Came across this one on Gizmodo http://gizmodo.com/5846892/hitler-doesnt-like-the-iphone-4s-either
  9. Looks like I am the only guy using this phone/os on the forum ... so probably this thread will not be like other android or ios threads on this forum. Will always be bashing or sarcastic replies and if I respond with some reasoning suddenly it becomes an MS advert!
  10. I have been using this phone for almost an year now and see no issues with the phone. Instead of striking off my points in the prev post as an MS advert why dont you give your point of view. I am genuinely interested to know other people's experiences with this OS & ecosystem. I am not interested in sales numbers nor like to know that someone got embarrassed as the only one having the phone at a conference. More interested in experiences, features in the OS (missing or newly added), something you are looking forward to etc ... Mostly end user experiences/ may be a couple of developer experiences with the phone, OS & the overall ecosystem.
  11. Sarcasm aside ... I dont see what it cannot do and only other phones can do. Yeah the intial version is a bit low on features and on completeness but mango added more than 500 new features that are missing from the first release and brought it on par with other ecosystems. I am sure if you go into another conf gain you will find another guy having WP7 phone along woth you dont worry. But dont expect more than one to accompany you. There are lot of points of view. From an end user's view (speed, responsiveness, features), from an app designer point of view (how beautiful an app/graphics look), development tools & ease of development on the platform, usability point, hardware specs, features in the OS, Cloud/web services around the OS, support from the OS developers, support from manufacturer's in patching/updating ROMs, Big/popular apps, retail salesmen & network price plans... and a lot more effects. In most of these cases Windows phone is on par or above other platforms except for decent hardware, carrier support & price plans. An example app is Skype. There are more than 23 versions of Skype app on the android platform. This is due to different versions of the OS like Pre-Froyo, Froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb etc etc and also due to different manufacturers taking different versions of the OS and making their own changes. Skype being a quite a big company, can deal with developing different version and have a whole page describing what devices running on what version of the OS are supported. This is insane for a normal developer to develop, update, manage and support! There are no flagship phones for WP7 until now. Like for iOS there are iPhone. Android HTC has one iconic phone, LG has one, Samsung has one, Motorola has one, Sony Ericsson has one etc etc. But this is not the case with WP7. All of these manufacturers jumped on the Android boat as it is free and invested heavily to develop for this platform. Now everybody is paying licensing fees to MS (except motorola), this includes HTC, LG, Samsung, Sony,General Dynamics Itronix, Velocity Micro, Onkyo, Wistron, Acer and ViewSonic etc etc. Just Today: http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/28/microsoft-and-samsung-sitting-in-a-tree-patent-s-h-a-r-i-n-g/ HTC Titan Series for WP7: 4.7" Screen!! Samsung, LG and most of all Nokia are bringing in these exclusive phones... Iphone was exclusive to O2 when it was released so the remaining carriers wanted something exclusive. Blackberry & Later Android came to rescue and all became very popular. WP7 came late to the party. It is designed from scratch (not like android that has linux kernel with half the work already done). Looking at how things are going WP7 will become THE third ecosystem after Android & IOS ecosystems.
  12. Windows Mobile!!??!! Yeah but windows mobile is quite bulky an unusable with no apps. This is NOT windows mobile period! This is a totally different OS written from scratch. Windows Mobile was killed off by MS about 1.5 year ago!
  13. What happened? Only thing lacking is the number of apps but all the big names are already there in the market place ...
  14. Does anybody use one of these windows phones in here? Or is it only me, usual sole warrior of this new platform ... ;-) Just connected my HTC trophy to my laptop and got 3 updates pushed down. Two from Microsoft and one from HTC! The OS is already fast but Mango takes it to the next level! Super smooth and super fast! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=locNEna0of4
  15. Fantastic find! ... Moved me quite a bit ... that guy is crying out loud to drop the differences to make this world a better place!
  16. Sorry to hear that man. Hope your do a full recovery! Good luck
  17. Now I am feeling bad ... I missed out on my big single May be we should ask the guy in the pic above to join our forum ...
  18. Not sure whether this is a repost ... Think this is an interesting idea ... that shock absorbers can help power your car by converting the up-and-down motion to electricity rather than heat.
