  1. Try an ECU swap, it's the easiest thing to cross off the list. If that doesn't help, follow the O.D. diagnostics in WSM.
  2. BTW, just in case that idea appeals to you, by pure fluke the most difficult to find best donor bonnet for this job could be found lurking here? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?326630-Stock-Hood-Bonnet&p=4106624&viewfull=1#post4106624
  3. Insulation would help, but it won't look as pretty, hope there will be space for air to exit the rad? I built mine to go on top, the combination of N/A rocker covers and a sexy bonnet bulge make space for it.
  4. Nice bracket, but in a hot place for a charge-cooler?
  5. My solution is to replace the N/A transmission with a 600 ftlb Hybrid, however, the Yanks choose to dick with them for more expensive yet lesser gains. The thread linked is about 7MGTE Mk 111 Supra automatic transmission, which is the same family as 2JZA80-GE Mk IV Supra automatic transmission and may be of interest to N/A automatic transmission owners, and/or owners of Hybrid transmission, in the latter case only the valve-body information is relevant. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?267655-How-to-make-a-a340-last(56kers-take-a-nap) http://www.atfspeed.com/shop/transmissions/a340e-transmissions/atf-stage-iii-toyota-supra-lexus-sc300-aristo-auto-transmission/
  6. Should you care to look, that mere snippet of information is included in the Supra Automatic Transmissions - The Answer to Everything link.
  7. Link to "my garage" where you will find Youtube embedded links of my flappy-paddles in action. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=3257
  8. This link will lead Club members to a link with the answer to anything they might need to know. Supra Automatic Transmissions - The Answer to Everything
  9. For those who seek further and/or detailed Workshop Manual information, yet are too tight to buy hard copies, below are links to this information in PDF, which are guaranteed to be a proper wind-up. Nevertheless, whatever the problem may be, the answer will be in there. To find the answer to your problem, someone will have to make the effort to read it and because it's your problem, the best way you can help yourself is to get reading. The Club collection of PDF Workshop Manual Chapters http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/content.php?51-Repair-Manuals Multiple A340 Transmission Workshop Manual http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?234279-A340E-ATM-Unit-Repair
  10. First check that the correct on/off signals are going to the solenoids, info in Workshop Manual, if not the problem, drop the sump, take out the solenoids and test them.
  11. Could you please explain the logic behind being content to have petrol vapours in the engine bay, as long as you can't smell them inside the car?
  12. It could be a sticky solenoid or a dicky signal to a good one.
  13. If it's not, I have a full gas flowed inside and polished outside set off my old N/A set up.
  14. I found pics of the pages and have posted them in the transmission Group for reference. You might?
  15. Excuse me, I had overlooked that you are not a paid up member, which is why you cannot access the Group pages.
  16. I don't know if either of you have tinkered with the control cables on the throttle body? If you have, check that you have refitted the line feed cable onto the correct ramp and is adjusted correctly.
  17. A throttle body is a deceptively complex component and anything on it that is factory sealed should not be dicked with, yet on many occasions this advice gets trumped by the shiny card which mostly ends up by learning this the hard way.
  18. Drop the pan and there it is (pic evinX ) Tip: Whilst you can get at them, re-torque all valve-body 10mm-head bolts to 7ftlb. Tip: Don't use sump gasket, clean both surfaces with brake-cleaner and use Loctite Grey SI 5660. (Strainer-bolts 7ftlb - sump-bolts 6.5ftlb only) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282651301240 Halfords stock it too.
  19. This guide that I have added to the Transmission Group might help? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=189&do=discuss Most faults are self inflicted by poor maintenance, electrickery dickery and throttle body tinkerings. Should your transmission fail to work properly, if you have recently tinkered with any of the above, there would be a good place to start. Check list. 1. Correct fluid level is crucially important. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=188&do=discuss 2. Check for any fault codes. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35920-How-To-Check-the-diagnostics-codes 3. Correct signal from odometer is vital, check for poor connections on speed converter. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?72588-Code-42-Fix&highlight=pink+wire+mod 4. Correct setting of Throttle Position Sensor is essential. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?gmid=2546&do=discuss#gmessage2546 (If you have dicked with the throttle stop, you may have a problem) 5. Speed sensor signal is imperative. (See links on 2 & 3.)
