  1. Think the crank sensor on these can be an intermittent wind-up.
  2. I've never found one of those that won't undo, it looks like your oil sucker will be busy. If the diff has had the same lack of maintenance, it would be a good idea to change the oil in that too whilst you're under there. Check that you can undo the filler/level plug, before you remove the drain plug.
  3. Maybe there will be more interest when the window cleaning season opens?
  4. Over time, Tom, Dick and Harry have had a go in mine, mostly for curiosity of the Hybrid transmission and flappy-paddle shifting, however, after the supercharger went on, only a trusted few that have experience of similar or more powerful cars.
  5. Pay close inspection to the distributor loom clip and wires.
  6. Now you have woken up, maybe you could edit your profile to; After a casual shag?
  7. Last week he warned Bombex side skirts, such is the fun when dicklicksit.
  8. If there are no error codes there are no errors, focus on the one's that have been identified.
  9. You only need a paper clip and a brain that works.
  10. Look for any fault codes, could be connection or function of inlet temp or engine temp sensors?
  11. Check the OBD2 codes, P1345 to P1354 are for VVT-i, they weren't there last time we looked. http://www.troublecodes.net/lexus/
  12. Found this info linked below, assuming the dyno's are talking the same language and not counting what improvement the modifications might, or might not be, it appears that 34 horses could be missing along with 70 ft-lb of torque. Add VVTI mechanism function check to the list? http://www.lexusv8engines.co.za/1uz-fe-vvt-i-4l-v8/
  13. A01B is an N/A 4.083 Torsen, you need an A02B 3.769.
  14. It's a damn sight easier to undo the drain plug than to dick about with a pump and which allows inspection of what comes out. If you're that worried by a 14mm spanner, pump out 2 litres and refill, then run engine for a few seconds, pump out 2 litres and refill. Wear gloves and do this 5 times with your 10 litres and without touching a spanner or getting your hands dirty, you will have changed around 3/4 of the fluid and avoided seeing any scary things underneath your Supra. I have updated the "Fluid Strainers, ATF & Lucas SS at Good Prices" thread in the Transmission Group, ready for the next time this comes around. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=128&do=discuss
  15. Mannol is a bargain bucket brand that appears to manufacture more variations of ATF than any of the Large Oil Companies. I also notice that they market a "Universal ATF" and suspect that's what is in all the bottles, regardless of what it say's on the tin.
  16. My pragmatism began with the Hearing-aid Brown paint and Incontinence-white leather trim, which metamorphosed into disdain after it tried to gas me on the way home. I haven't bonded with this thing at all and can't even drive it until the new back box turns up and then only slowly until the new discs and pads turn up. Whilst waiting, I bought the bits to do an oil change, but have just found that my sockets go up to 35mm and need a 36mm. I shall grimace on until the Supra is sorted.
  17. Now that Toyota Type T-IV has become a "rare item", all the boys will want some.
  18. Best I can find in UK £63 for 5 litres Free P&P. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Toyota-ATF-Automatic-transmission-fluid-Oil-T-IV-5-Litres-Ltr-/221568606203
  19. Can be found in U.K. at around £14.50 per litre plus P&P. It's as cheap as chips in the States, but many Traders won't ship it. This would be the cheapest option, pay the shipping separately and avoid paying VAT on it and then get 1/3 of your money back selling on the 4 litres you won't need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Pack-GENUINE-TOYOTA-T-IV-Synthetic-Automatic-Transmission-Fluid-ATF-TIV-Lexus-/351600190026?fits=Make%3AToyota Or trust Opie Oil to sell you some decent Dexron III. Either/or, add a bottle of Lucas SS. How to partial and/or full flush your transmission here. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=188&do=discuss Mellonman has already informed you that anything else you may need/want to know will be found in my signature link.
  20. Of course I prefer driving the Supra, this old dog is a runabout that is needed to do the running about needed to get my Supra running about again. It's comfy and quiet, averages 50 mpg, has room in the back for my off-road mobility scooter and fishing kit, or a 2J engine and/or a couple of transmissions or even a double mattress. Other than that, it's a fine example of why the Company went bust and I really don't like it at all, even so, a second class ride is better than a first class walk.
  21. The exhaust pipe has rotted out at the top just before the back-box and the car fills up with carbon monoxide through there. It's the Connoisseur model in Hearing-aid Brown with Incontinence-white leather trim, I think the back door fit is a standard extra?
  22. Details here. http://www.overnightdecalsfromjapan.com/faqs/
  23. It is exactly what it say's on the tin, the express post costs more than the sticker.
  24. They come in pairs, so you will get a his and a hers. http://www.overnightdecalsfromjapan.com/tuner-decals-1/
