  1. Kevin likes to mend things that are not broken or improve things that are already good enough, it's his way of saying I love you. Best way to scratch this itch would be to add the additional T.T. mount to the sub-frame, you will have expressed your love with a hundred pounds and the mounts will be future-proofed for N/A-T or T.T. conversion.
  2. Keron will sort you out. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/member.php?676-keron Edit: Series 2?
  3. Watch out for the 30 profile flagellation squad.
  4. If you're happy with your brakes other than how you want them to look, maybe these are for you? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-4pcs-3D-Brembo-Style-Car-Disc-Brake-Caliper-Covers-Front-Rear-Kit-Gold-/311672739476?hash=item4891249694:g:3uQAAOSwU-pXqcms
  5. T.T. transmission here, £150. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?338665-Autobox-hi-stall-auto-lever-etc&p=4189970#post4189970
  6. A lovely clean find, that 52k-er knocks the spots off fresh import 30k jobbies.
  7. That bottle in front of me will be better than this frontal lobotomy. Cheers.
  8. Nothing serious about it, I just mean what I say. You're waaay beyond my help.
  9. I keep getting asked how to fit additional cooling and a thermostat to automatic transmission. I'm trying to find a couple of 'project' or 'how-to type' of threads that include pretty pictures to link up in the Transmission Group for easy access. Searching has turned up nothing but there must be a few lurking around in build threads? To save me trawling through many build threads, if you know where to find please post up a link. Thank you.
  10. You're getting ahead of yourself. Unless you plan to increase the power, you don't need bigger sump, coolers or thermostat and you have a new strainer in it already. Shimming the actuators would perk up the gear-changes and Suprastick would make driving it more fun.
  11. The best advice I can give you is for you to find a sump from an A650E and fit a temp sensor into it, then when fitted to your box you will benefit from both a temp gauge and an extra 2 litres of transmission fluid capacity. If you like, we could shim up the actuators and fit a Suprastick & flappy-paddles, alternatively, as is often suggested, you could burn it with fire. benjiboy87, I answered your technical questions way beyond any expectations and introduced you to the answers to any and every other question you could possibly have re. your transmission. Furthermore, to economise with your button pressing, I even sent you an invite to the Transmission Group. Regardless, you have completely ignored my beneficence and alternatively, chose to prattle off topic. Were you born ignorant, or do you practice a lot? Fear not, ignorance is trendy on here and you'll fit in well. Maybe you're conforming to your peers? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?322158-New-favourite-car-sounds-video&p=4188611&viewfull=1#post4188611 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?338788-Fitted-my-Engine-Bay-boxes&p=4188966&viewfull=1#post4188966
  12. The harder you work a transmission the hotter it will get & additional-power WILL require additional-cooling 9 out of 10 transmission failures are because of overheating, nevertheless, same as for engines, too cold is bad too Automatic transmissions have an optimum operating temperature range http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=154&do=discuss Running additional cooling via a thermostat is the solution Mocal Oil Thermostat Please note: You require 3/8" - 10mm hose-tails model Demontweeks page (More info &/or purchase) http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/oil-coolers-accessories/mocal-oil-stat Plumbing Diagram
  13. Beefing up auto boxes is like Tesco's motto, "Every little helps." With shimmed actuators, new strainer, new fluid, additional oil cooling, an oil thermostat and good idea to fit the 2 litre larger A650E sump too. Your box should be fine for up to 550ftlb, or up to 600ftlb if the slam after the lag is not too fierce. For any more you'll need a box built with stronger clutch plates and/or a few billet bits. Heat is the killer, which means that it's a very very very good idea to run a fluid temp gauge. Take a look around in the Transmission Group, there's a link in my signature. A650E swap, sorting the electronics and fitting the shifter are PITA, it's doable but the Yanks don't, they do however use the larger 3rd or 4th? gear basket from that box in the 4-speed because it has an extra clutch plate.
  14. Does mounting an FPR to the bulkhead transmit fuel pump resonance? The reason to ask is because I found that after relocated the oil filter on mine next to fuel filter, when driving around town and/or cruising, I could hear the oil pump working as I drove along. This nasty groan was cured by insulating the filter mount on rubber bobbins and now it's radio supercharger all the way.
  15. If it helps Ctek make a 2.5m extention cable. http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/battery-chargers-jump-starters/ctek-2-5m-extension-cable
  16. You could take out the box that's in the way on the right and fit it there?
  17. There recently was a thread about this that includes a link to the ABS sensor that you need. Do a search and it'll turn up.
  18. You'll soon get fed up with it. That fluid temp is too low, fit a thermostat and run two of your three rads through it or your box will soon die.
