  1. The bits used I will continue to list in my signature. Some second hand, some hand made and some new. If cost is important to you, I will let you keep tabs on it
  2. This 300hp N/A project is a personal goal, which I believe can be acheived without spending huge sums of money. When finished, will have more power than a stock Jap T.T, and in total, a lot less than buying one, with insurance at half the price. I am adding the items as upgraded to my signature, and look forward to the 'Day of Reconning' on the rollers. I have accumulated all the engine parts I need, except a coil. A manual gearbox and limited slip diff swop was already on my list, I can sell what comes off to subsidise the cost, and not that it matters, but the car will be worth a grand more for the change anyway. This is my every day car, and with the current mods is averaging around 32mpg on an urban cycle, I expect this to be up to around 35 when completed. All the work is being done with my own fair hands, I am fabricating many of the parts to my own designs, and re-engineering others, it keeps me out of mischief I enjoy tinkering with my Supra Furthermore, I am sure that there are many N/A owners that could benefit from this project.
  3. Mmmmm:think: Looks like the manual gear box conversion just went higher up on the priorities list
  4. This information has thrown a spanner into the project Please excuse my ignorance, but what difference does the gearbox make to setting up the engine?
  5. It might not be driving anything yet! Ryan G tells me that the AEM ECU is not good with Auto's, and guess what, mine is an auto.
  6. It is normal to use an AEM 30-1101 for an N/A with MAF. However, the AEM I have to use is the T.T. 30-1100, which I hope to be plug and play because my Jap spec N/A engine uses MAP, not MAF. I assume that this unit will produce 'wasted spark', is this compatible with a 'proper' strong coil set up?
  7. I had planned to use the HKS, because of the good reports, but getting a stronger coil for now because I can't find one. When one does come along, I can compare the two.
  8. I am upgrading the coil, considering a Nology 45,000 volt, and the H.T. leads, and also wondering if a dual spark system would be compatible with the HKS Twin Power? Looking to give the best spark I can get. I was put off changing to coil on plug because of reports of unnaccountable missfires with a few of the N/A/T's that had been converted. Nevertheless, I have chosen my route, now I just need to find a few last bits. That's why I'm asking on here.
  9. This unit is reported to be the best spark upgrade for the N/A engine, so I want one as part of my ignition upgrade plans. Not many N/A engines have been modded, so they are thin on the ground. Maybe one that has, will get 'bent' when winter comes
  10. Thank's for the info re. sensors. Check my signature, it is a bespoke N/A unit and loom HKS made to work with distributer and coil. David
  11. Looking for a facelift clock If you have one 'tucked away' somewhere, please contact me. David

    Tyre Options

http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html You will find everything you need to know about wheel and tyre combinations here. I have the same size wheels, and I am fitting 295 35 18 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's. I have cut back the lip to half way across the spot welds, and fitted coil assistors to the springs. Will let you know if it works.
  13. That would have been a good idea, but have begun and already completed the list in my signature, spending my time and money getting on with the job. It is pretty average for 20 of the horses to have escaped from a 60k engine so gave myself a 'ball park' start figure of 200bhp. Should I acheive 280, then that would be around 300 on a built engine. I am looking forwards to the 'Day of Reconning' How do I find Ryan G?
  14. That wasn't instant, that was 'telepathic', let us begin the pm's
  15. There you go.... I pressed his 'button' I said maybe I was wrong, and I was Maybe I should say 'maybe nobody will find me an HKS Twin Power', then somebody instantly will, just to prove me wrong I am a newcomer to this 'Supragoround', that's why I come here to pick up on a few things. I have read that Ryan G is good at what he does, I will be looking for a 'good man' to set mine up when it is ready. Do you think he would fancy a go on my N/A with a second hand AEM?
  16. Bromy. I have read that switching to coil packs with N/A T conversions causes missfires of 'mysterious causes', and I didn't want to become inflicted by this gremlin.
  17. A used Solaris is not an item to be found easilly, and I could be mistaken, but I doubt there is much 'know how' with that system here. But thank's for the tip, and let me know if you come across an HKS Twin Power.
  18. Thank's for the link. That's exactly the spedo face I seek. However, I have found 2 leads to the face alone, but thanks for picking up on it. I have taken a fancy to the clock though, if you still have it, I will buy it now.
  19. I am keeping the distributer, fitting NGK Iridium plugs, with Nology HT leads and coil, that's why I am looking for an HKS Twin power ignition device, to fit into this ignition system. The OEM ECU has control of the timing, so the AEM will 'plug and play'. David
  20. I have found the information I seek, and just in case someone else might find this useful. The O.E.M. M.A.P. sensor is attactched to the bulkhead and connected to the inlet manifold by a short length of tube. It is better to use the A.E.M. M.A.P. sensor with an A.E.M. E.C.U.
  21. Thank's for the speedhunters link
  22. I am fitting an A.E.M. 30-1100 E.C.U. to my ‘stage 1½’ modified Japanese import N/A Supra. Japanese import N/A’s do not have M.A.F, but utilise M.A.P, the same system as used on the T.T, so this unit should be plug & play. My manual is for U.K. spec and does not show the location of the M.A.P. sensor(s) Could you please give me a link to this information? Second question; Are A.E.M. M.A.P. sensors better for this application than O.E.M? Thank you David
