  1. The only new A340E-GE C-0 accumulator in Europe, there are more available, yet require order from Japan. (Pics Delboy52 ) (Availabillity info Inchcape Toyota) Mr T's prices are elastic, or is that Latex? We plan to fit this into Mike's transmission, 7th July. Working underneath the Supra.

  4. An A340E automatic transmission is a box full of clutches and sooner or later, one of them will wear out first. O.D. is the weakest, only 2 clutch-plates here. O.D. stands for Over-Driven, and is for light-throttle eco-cruising. Always turn O.D. off for WOT driving. Always also, engage "Low" for any burnout silliness, if it gets the chance to change-up to 2nd-gear mid-burnout, it's very likely to break 2nd-gear clutch-basket. (Sprag) Avoid these pitfalls, maintain ATF correctly and the transmission should live on to become a ripe old age. Eventually, dying a slow peaceful death from slipping 3rd-gear clutches.
  5. Strainer-change - drop the pan and there it is. Tip: It may run ATF up your sleeve when taken off. (pic evinX ) Tip: Whilst you can get at them, re-torque all valve-body 10mm-head bolts to 7ftlb. Tip: Don't use sump gasket, clean both surfaces with brake-cleaner and use Loctite Grey SI 5660. (Strainer-bolts 7ftlb - sump-bolts 6.5ftlb only) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Loctite-5699-Premium-Silicone-Grey-Gasket-Maker-Sealant-80ml-Metal-Plastic-/191428349901?hash=item2c9204cfcd Service Items @ Sensible Prices here. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=128&do=discuss
  6. If you binned it, Mr. T. can sort you out. A340E-GE 35426A PISTON, C-0 ACCUMULATOR 35426-40010 35426B RING, O (FOR C-0 ACCUMULATOR PISTON) 90301-24001 35426C SPRING, COMPRESSION (FOR C-0 ACCUMULATOR PISTON) 90501-22008 90501-23073 Amayama thinks the accumulator part no. is for a steel-bush and has no idea what the O-ring might be? No I don't have any.
  7. Getting ahead of the game. If you still have the donor A340E-GE in your shed, you will find the C-0 accumulator where I left it. (Stick finger in hole, bend finger and pull.) (For ref: GTE springs top, GE springs below.)
  8. ECU failures here. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?343065-Warning-Engine-ecu-failure
  9. At the pedal-end of the cable-core, run-solder along it, from where the cable-block will cramp onto it, to where you plan to cut it. Do this before you cut it, the cable will then not deform under the screws and your end will never fray. By feel, at zero pedal-depression, set the cable to; "only just not doing anything" and the big squidgy N/A throttle-cable rubber-stopper (or similar), will allow for any slight difference there might be in the two-cables travels at WOT? Confirm that accelerator-pedal has full-travel without putting strain on the line-feed cable, you really don't want the job of finding and re-soldering the nipple back on at the other end.
  10. I have built a new recipe A340E-GTE/GE Hybrid for Picoto, incorporating the alternative A340E-GE C-0 1st & Reverse brake-band accumulator. Which should be the end of the P to D Bump? This Lucky Number 13 Hybrid transmission will/should be fitted and running by mid July, Chris will then report back. Hybrid Transmission Register. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=91&do=discuss A340E-GE and A340E-GTE C-0 accumulators, side by side in the Real World, GE version has erect nipple. GE version will have more spring-tension and less travel, as when in OE GE transmission.
