I have a good one. £30 collected or £10 P&P.

A Crap Ovic?
-
Excuse the poor pic, but the best I could do from the van window at 80, spotted this on the back of a trailer on the A6 near Leicester. I think it more likely to be a copy than a real one, yet very nice to see.

An N/A inlet cam can be had for the asking then half a days tinkering, and the job is jobbed. An aftermarket standalone or piggy-back ECU and a dyno tune would be best, yet I would think the stock ECU would be O.K. This would need to be trialed, but there is some information about this to be found on Supraforum. I used to tune Toyota deisel engines and to use an N/A inlet cam on a turbocharged engine gave a noticable gain.

I am surprised there has been no further input re. this suggestion, this looks to give a nice little power gain @ BPU, 'raising the bar' with simple work at little cost.

I have been researching the blanking plate, it appears that it definitely increases the noise and possibly increases power! It goes on a bit, but almost gets there in the end. http://xjr6.co.uk/index.php?topic=22.0 What do you think of this mod Adam?

All bits bought so far, were dispatched Royal Snail 2nd class recorded at 2pm today.

T.T. pistons are different, they give lower compression, but stock diameter T.T. pistons will fit into stock bore diameter N/A block. Yes the T.T. head will fit onto the N/A block.

The 'full cold' mark is about level with the join sump to casting, there is a lot of space above this before there are any moving parts, I run mine 1 litre over without issue, but it will be the drag/track users experience that will tell. I posted some pics of this yesterday in my Supracharger build thread.

I haven't heard of that mod before, are you dissapointed that your new charger will be quieter? Post any links you have to this please, I am interested to learn more about this.

Try and fix it as you suggested first, then if you are not satisfied with the result, replace it.

The job list is getting shorter. Now the weather has steadied up a bit, I will start doing a few jobs on the car, there is a lot to do. As soon as I have the cable, I will swop in the complete new transmission and install the w/m pipe whilst I'm under there. I want to test out the Hybrid and set up the Suprastick before fitting the supercharger.

My original plan was to encorporate the splined N/A tail shaft which would have allowed me to use my new one-piece aluminium prop, which in turn would enable me to switch between N/A and T.T. Torsens for sprint or top speed. But the price for the engineering was more than buying 2 Torsen diffs and 2 propshafts. Plan B. Keep the T.T. tail shaft and use a T.T. auto prop and diff, it makes the job a lot simpler too. (I later found it better to use an N/A 4.083 Torsen diff with a T.T. diff prop-flange) The spring sunshine was lovely today so I have performed this Supra brain surgery outdoors in field conditions. I have transplanted the N/A valve body, gearbox loom and cable line pressure control into the T.T. box, and tapped a hole into it's bellhousing for the cable mount. Et Voila! The A340E-GTE/GE Hybrid is born. A 500+ ftlb transmission, compatible with N/A electronics and cheap as chips. For this application the line-feed pressure control cable needs to be 2" longer to reach the Lexus throttle body on the supercharger conversion and now that I have one to use for a pattern I will get it made, the whole transmission upgrade will then be complete and ready to go in. This plug & play unit will be compatible with the N/A ECU and/or Suprastick manualised control and will be more than strong enough for the job. This hasn't been done before, I have worked this out by myself. Here are the 2 victims! T.T. A340E GTE top (with flange) and N/A A340E-GE below (with splined shaft and line pressure control cable) Fluids drained, then steam cleaned - They both look very worried! (Note: N/A left has J1 bell-housing, T.T. right has J3 bell-housing) T.T. A340E-GTE layer 1 N/A A340E-GE layer 1 T.T. A340E-GTE layer 2 (Note 5 solenoids, there's another located under 2nd from left) N/A A340E-GE layer 2 (Note: 3 solenoids) T.T. A340E-GTE layer 3 (The actuators seen on the right are removed and shimmed to increase shift speed and firmness as required) N/A A340E-GE layer 3 Layers 4 The Hybrids new brain N/A A340E valve-body, loom and line pressure control cable transplanted into T.T. A340E-GTE. All done and dusted, it's now a Plug & Play upgrade (Note:J3 bell-housing requires a hole drilling and tapping to locate the line-pressure cable) (Either N/A or T.T. dipstick can be used, but it must be paired with it's original correct tube) Further information about this transmission in link below. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?groupid=57 Automatic-Transmission-Serial-Number-Identification.pdf

Erm, the thread subject steering wheel(s) on ebay didn't have any centre(s) at all. But the thread has been informative and entertaining in a Supranurd sort of way, and Scott and I are not bickering. All's well that ends well.

Thanks for the offer, but sold at asking price by pm. I am keeping the first post updated as we go.
-
Maybe you're onto something there, sell it to a Saxo owner, maybe that's where they all deserve to live.
-
I too prefer the look of mine compared to a 'real one' because I don't like shiny and bright things in my line of sight. Although I may get it re-covered to make it thicker wristed once I have more important Suprastuff finished.
-
Mmmm I bet it costs more than that to post, make it £15? and I will send it.
-
Here's a 'real one', without the Tetly perforations, but TRD wheels come in both flavours, in fact the Lexus wheel is without the perforations. Yet I can't justify a months wages more for something that is almost the same. Maybe I am the only Supra owner without money to burn

When I posted a pic of my TuRD steering wheel which is the same as that but with Tiptronic buttons and a TRD hooter button badge stuck the middle, there was a gaggle of ..... "Where did you get that mate"? Now I give the heads up there's a bucketfull going for a song, I am an arse. Compare the pics below with a TRD wheel and ask yourself if it is worth shelling out £1,500ish more because the badge was glued on in the Toyota factory.

Look out, if Chris's got the date wrong, he will be asking you what it tastes like next.

Htfdik I am not the vendor, just posted a heads-up for anyone interested.
