    bpu ??

The power per £ extractable from an N/A engine is expensive compared to TT BPU, which is basically allowing the original components to create boost up to a level closer to the 'BANG' threshold than Mr T permitted.

Of course there are Basic Performance Upgrades for an N/A. However, moderately increasing the amount of air passing through the engine doesn't gain much power, or could even reduce it unless the engine is remapped, which requires adding a piggyback or changing to a standalone ECU which is not classified as 'Basic'.
  3. This might be of interest to some. Excuse me if it has been posted before. http://www.autospeed.com/A_110994/cms/article.html
  4. With these smilies remaining to deploy, maybe it 'officially' isn't?
  5. It would certainly ease the wrinkles, yet not sure the softening would be popular.
  6. My induction system will be up for grabs in a few weeks after the supercharger goes on. Details of spec in my garage.
  7. Hello Fizz, was beginning to think you were lost in a garden.
  8. Found this on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180533555550&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_1550wt_905 Using this has made my leather front seats as soft as a baby's bottom with a non-slip finish. Rejuvenated the dry old leather U.K. rear seats a treat. Renovated the glass rubbers making them shiny and supple. Completely transformed the fading scuttle panel, front lip and active spoiler making them as black as new with a silicone rubber feel to the surface. Brought the door rubbers up to look like new. Enriched the interior plastic panels and it smells good too. Fantastic stuff and only £5.50. Now wondering what other old things I can rub it onto.
  9. Looks like you managed one after all.
  10. To make space for the hydrogen generators I have fitted a smaller battery in the back, which means I have a perfectly good 18 months old Halfords battery I no longer need. I believe they have a 3 year guarantee? This could do someone a favour for a tenner, collection only please.
  11. The original battery is out, the conversion wiring complete and the little Odyssey 30 cranks the engine over a treat. To prevent constant drain from the alarm pulling the voltage down, I have mounted a solar panel on aluminium brackets inside the rear hatch with the charge indicator LED fitted to be seen in the rear view mirror.
  12. Thank you That is definitely similar to my intent, a wider and lower version of that would cover all and look the dogs danglies, we shall soon see if I am up to it.
  13. I have had that all out recently for another job and there were no relays lurking, I will look out for it. Now I have seen the diagram for a proper job, that's what it will get when I get around to it.
  14. Lights on = 4 lights. Fog light on = 3 lights and 1 brake light. Brakes = 4 brake lights Where is this relay and/or resistor pack likely to be located? I will go and read the thread, cheers.
  15. Elementary That sounds a highly probable conclusion. Please tell me more about this wire wound resistor pack, I know nothing of these?
  16. Mmmm, I hadn't realised it could show up a fault from the gauges. However, the bulbs in anything and everything and the brake fluid level are all O.K. and my deduction is that it was the importer who had taken the bulb out to shut it up, which makes me suspect his fog light conversion. I will look out for a stray relay whilst tinkering with the supercharger electrickery. Thank you. I am itching to get this Beastie breathing too, looking like Suprapod is to become the target date.
  17. I discovered there was no warning bulb in the socket so fitted one. Then found out that it was permanently on, even though all bulbs function. I have subsequently, replaced the ECU that drives it and the scenario has become; Ignition on light on, start engine light off, which is what it should do, however, first touch of the brake pedal and it is back on again. All bulbs on the car are working and none are aftermarket LED's. The only thing I can think it could be, is how the importer has wired up the rear fog light function to a brake light. Anyone with any ideas?
  18. The alternator is an Eagle Electric 200amp, so that should be the least of my worries. My only concerns are for the belt and power steering pulley, yet plan to upgrade these before it goes on.
  19. I have considered that belt whip could be an issue, if so, thinking of making an idler mounted from the centre of OE idler arm. There are many unknowns that soon won't be. Thanks for the input.
  20. The OE water pump, pulley and fan would be rotating backwards with this design. Looks to be a suck it and see.
