  1. Boost Logic N/A box, Precision torque converter and 19 row cooler. Presently £100. Could be a good buy? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-Auto-Gearbox-Uprated/183066585667?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D48421%26meid%3De719945d16a44d8e9a2d260e6489aaa8%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D173146190225%26itm%3D183066585667&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  2. T.T. box and torque-converter here for £150 with free delivery. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362240434048?ul_noapp=true
  3. After lots of head scratching................. Supra N/A torque-converter fits Supra N/A. T.T. auto & Aristo torque-converters fits both T.T. auto and Aristo. Torque-converter size is matched to bell-housing size, J1 = smallest, J2 = medium-est and J3 = largest. In later models Mr. T. made several (at least 5) minor changes to input shaft designs for VVT-i and 5-speed boxes and V8's. Consequently, there are so many different versions, the only way to be sure is to test fit the torque-converter to the box and bell-housing, with flex-plate fitted check the spacing to bell-housing face - before fitting into the car.
  4. P.S. You haven't confirmed that the fluid level is up to the mark? Please check the dipstick before you tear your box out. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=188&do=discuss
  5. The box had been standing around for "a while" and I suspect the problem could be a sticky C-0 accumulator? When shimming a box there's no need to touch the C-0 accumulator, but it looks as though from now on I will also need to open and clean that one as part of the job.

  8. N/A auto box here for £50. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk4-Toyota-Supra-3-0-Petrol-NA-5-Speed-Automatic-Gearbox-/332528108180
  9. Boostlogic & Titan boxes come in Stage 1, 2 & 3 "types" and will have been rebuilt with new and stronger clutches, new oil-seals and bearings and also have valve-body modifications various. Because of this, of course they are a stronger option than what I do for £50. A second hand one however, will most likely have been well ragged with up to 1,000 bhp and you can buy a new one for from £1,500? (If someone is not too embarrassed to admit how much one of these things actually costs after shipping and U.K. taxes? Please let me know and I will post a "correct" price.) (What I do is a budget option, that for mere peanuts, creates a fast gear-changing and well mannered transmission that is good for up to 550ftlbs.)
  10. Responding to the horses mouth would be a better idea than a Chinese Japanese whisper. P.S. Whatever schematics/information from it is required, please post on this page to become a resource for all.
  11. For clarification: I am well aware there is more that can be done than just shimming the accumulators and if that is what someone wants, they can simply spend lots of money on a Titan or Boost Logic built box. What I provide is a budget option fast-changing well-mannered transmission for up to 500-550ftlbs? Here in the U.K., at this time pre un-loved auto boxes can be picked up for £150 or less and anyone with an auto Supra who has a brain that functions correctly, will have one of these cheap as chips transmissions shimmed up and stashed in the shed as a spare, ready for the inevitable day that the clutches wear out. It's not only the shimming, it is also maximum attention MUST be paid to ATF temperature and maintainence, which is essential for power levels above 400ftlb and/or with use of a higher stall torque-converter. Here's a clip of what is achieved for a mere £50.
  12. Thank you for your input. I have come across strange differences with torque converter fits that could only be resolved by trying alternative ones, so it looks like try them and see will come around again! Unless Frank's Rocking Horse Manual unravels Mr T's magical mystery, it looks like you could be buying 3 sets of gaskets to solve his valve-body conundrum?
  13. A-haaaa, don't hide your light under an bushel. That might be just the ticket?
  14. I don't have any relevant information on VVT-i Tiptronic boxes and don't know of anyone who has. Edited for pedantic Frank.
  15. Another option would be another complete valve-body. When/if I can ever get my hands onto the Aristo Tiptronic box that I own, if you would like it, you could have the complete valve-body out of that?
  16. That's useful information right there. With reference to the input shaft, does it have the same "torque-converter fit" as A340E & A343E GTE? With reference to valve-body gaskets, it looks like you have 2 options. 1. Buy an OE pair of each from Mr T and see which ones match the gaskets it has now? 2. Ask an Aristo owner of same year of manufacture for his chassis number and be lucky?
