  1. If you're fitting a new head gasket to your N/A-T, use the thicker T.T. version. This will drop the compression and allow more boost and/or ignition advance.

  3. Now that Parliament has declared a Climate Emergency, it is inevitable that emissions regulations will soon become stricter.
  4. Post a copy of those regulation on here, then members can print off a copy to show to any MOT tester who is too dim to perform the job they're paid to do.
  5. I am scratching about at laying a path, officially it's for Spaz Charriot access, yet unofficially, it's a widening of the drive to make enough space to play Supra games. Before the bungalow was built, the hedge bottom in this corner of the field was used as a fly-tip for garden waste and ashes. Which has resulted with around 16 tonnes of overburden to dig and cart away, before the required trench for the "path" can then be dug and carted. On Saturday, Chris Picoto and his wife Kendall came and gave me a hand with this project, Chris dug out the concrete post and sycamore tree roots and between us we managed to fill around 40 more Lucky Bags, in-between the bacon-sarni, rain-showers, hail-storm and tea (coffee, ginger beer and diet coke) breaks. Thank you both very much. Before (Most of the Lucky Bags in this pic had been carted away before we started) After One more hit like that and the overburden will be cleared. Then........... At around 1am this morning, an idiot completely missed the track and reversed into my garden, where the BMW is now stuck. Bottomed out on the sill and has no traction with left wheel. That'll teach him/her for not having a limited slip diff.
  6. Diagrams show both, for manual installation discount the auto pins. https://www.jegs.com/InstallationInstructions/0/017/017-30-1100.pdf
  7. Maybe because of it's slack rear end?
  8. The OE temp stabiliser for ATF is always a good thing to have, but fitting an additional large cooler without a thermostat to manage it, would inevitably result with running ATF below optimum temp for much/most of the time.
  9. Not an answer to your question, but excuse me for asking if this Supra is an Aerotop?

  12. Pin I.D. here. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=257&do=discuss If you need a solenoid, they can be found on eBay.
  13. GE engine has MAP sensor, not MAF. A worn throttle body won't cause idle difference between P and D. Check that the Throttle Position Sensor is set correctly. Check the closed circuit oil breather system; hose not split and the valve functions correctly.
  14. Don't waste your time with a lower temp thermostat.
  15. Delboy52 has a neat & discreet install here........ http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?346957-Twin-boot-batteries-in-parallel
  16. Patrick, Dave told me he used a straight mount for his installation and not the boomerang that was on his Tiptronic box? If he did, then he should have the now spare boomerang mount in his shed? The A650E box I gave to him had a boomerang mount on it too, so he should have a brace of them? Edit: If you need to move the car whilst you're hunting for one, I remember that; turning the rubber mount 180 degrees will then allow 2 of the holes in a straight cross-member to line up with 2 of the bolt holes in chassis. You wouldn't want to go drag racing like that, but it would be fine for a gentle trundle home.
  17. J spec Supra N/A & T.T. are both A340E. (Sub coded A340E-GE & A340E-GTE) (US & Euro spec T.T. will be A343E-GTE) Soarer (& others) are A341E Early LS400 (& others) are A342E Later LS400 (& others) are A343E The Tiptronic box, which is last in the 35000 series, is coded by AisinAW as A30-40LS. Mr T called this one A34#E, but translated from Aisin to Toyota lingo as others, would become A340S. Which contradicts any assumption of larger numbers denoting stronger boxes, because the Tiptronic box is the strongest of the lot. More info here............. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?discussionid=153&do=discuss Should you find any information other than Old Wives Tales re. "strength" of these variants, please let us know?
  18. J spec is A340E and U.K. spec is A343E. A later model box is likely to have upgrades, but I have seen no information to confirm this? However, Mr T. uses different codes than are used by AisinAW who manufacture these boxes. According to Mr T, both N/A and J spec T.T. boxes are A340E, however, these boxes are very different.
  19. They are an identical plug & play fit. The speedometer sensor may be geared slightly differently if UK auto has a different diff ratio? But almost nobody runs on stock rims and tyres, which means that almost all are running slightly out of kilter. They change hands for £150 to £200, depending on how many miles it has done.
