  1. Its purely for sound deadening. Soon as i buy a car its the first thing i remove.
  2. I believe the very earliest J-Spec cars with the 17" wheels option had wheels with no fins. I think all export cars and imports from late 93 onwards had the fins in the wheels. Revision of the wheel by toyota, no idea why. Perhaps they were worried and decided to strengthen them? Typical Toyota over-engineering.
  3. I think i've seen this driving around... thought the spoiler looked a little weird but couldnt figure out what it was from the angle i saw it...
  4. Why not get a replica TRD Gen2 from ebay? one seller is flogging them for £199 + £8.50 postage! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-SUPRA-MK4-2JZGTE-TURBO-CAT-BACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM_W0QQitemZ180381605506QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item29ff94de82&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Fitment: Toyota Supra JZA80 1993-1998 Twin Turbo & N/T, UK & Import I'm gonna get one this month hopefully, it'll go very nicely with my manifold i just bought. A mate has one of these although he got it from XS Power (identical exhaust with different badge, Motoria, Jap Speed, AutoBahn88 all the same) and its built really well. Forget about the bad things people say about XS Power stuff. I've yet to see bad XS Power parts (except their wastegates).
  5. Yes i am a little worried how loud this system will be once finished May need to fashion a silencer or two...
  6. I sold a mk2 supra w58 a few years ago for £30....so i think he does actually mean £60-80... £600-800 is way more than a W58 is worth, when I could pick up a V160 for £1300. M5W TT - Do you think i should be looking to spend around £100 then on a W58? Would you say thats the going rate?
  7. Just the box. I've already picked up all the conversion stuff. The only 2 things that im missing are a flywheel and the actual box itself. If the going rate is actually £60-80 then sod £300
  8. Hummm i've heard some people have a nightmare with these and some have them go straight on without worries. I guess they all vary slightly in shape/angle when they are manufactured. Oh well i'll see whats what when it turns up Just out of curiosity how much did yours cost you? (seeing if i got a good deal)
  9. Finally found a few today... Been offered one for £315 delivered and he'll throw the flywheel in for free... What do you guys think? Its hard to tell what they are worth as prices vary so much.
  10. I've just picked one up, can anyone tell me in more detail what kind of modification i need to do to it to get it to fit a RHD car? Cheers
  11. Tell me about it....after it went in for some work i had a... Leaking Brake Calliper Leaking Fuel Rail - Nice and safe to drive that! Front bumper hanging on without any screws... Those are the top 3 of a list as long as my arm..... They bodged up my car so bad i sold it as i kept finding more and more bodges...
  12. Well im not mentioning names... im not sure where they are based now or if they even exist anymore....but they used to work out of a unit in Baisingstoke if its the same one im thinking of
  13. Is there anywhere i can get the Autobahn 88 manifold other than US websites? Also what is considered the better manifold out of the two? The Autobahn or the OBX? I'd assume from the reviews the Autobahn is the better choice?
  14. Mine has never leaked. Every time i wash the car i spray the seals with halfords silicone spray - keeps em like new
  15. Just thought i'd add that im going down this route also at the moment. Im rebuilding a 99 2JZ-GE VVTI for high RPM and high power. Head is being reworked with larger valves, titanium springs. Going for maximum flow. Crank is being rebalanced, stronger rods and pistons, lightened pulleys and electric waterpump. Long duration cams with adjustable gears. M3 Throttle Bodies. Im looking at revving it to 8500rpm where im hoping i'll make some serious NA power. I've been looking for an aftermarket manifold for a while now so this OBX system interests me a lot. So you had to modify it to clear the steering? Hummmm, it looks very close though. This could cause contact given a hard corner or heavy load. This is my only concern. Also im keeping the stock airbox. The INJen looks cool but its something i think that belongs on honda's. The stock box will allow enough air flow for a 500bhp twin turbo, so there really is zero benefit of removing the stock box. I've gone with just a simple Blitz SUS Panel filter, not because i thought there would be a performance gain but more to make sure i had a decent filter in there. Otherwise good write up and i'm going to keep a eye on this
