The housing of the light seems to come up towards the edge of the light and makes the lenses look better Scott, but I am also of the same mind that its a shame to buy facelifts then paint them to look like non facelift. Just wondered what they would look like as the lenses do seem to look much nicer on the facelift. However.. I think I am about 85% for the pre-facelift.
-
So next on the hunt list would be to see what facelift look like once the grey part has been painted.. but definately leaning towards keeping pre-facelift and having the conversion done on those now
-
The 2nd pic is ideal for what I was after. I like the black on the pre-facelift and then I like the way the surround comes up to meet the light, and the lenses look better on the facelift. The dilema continues..

Toyed with that idea of tinting them but I like the rear light look a bit too much (the Jspec arrangement in particular) as I think its one of the signature parts of the Supra going to leave them un-tinted but definitely want the LEDs in there whilst retaining the OEM look.
-
Excellent - will be a good comparison. Im going to be going for the full LEDs too if I can sneek it past the missus as one of those "essential items to enhance road safety".. think it will wash.. hopefully.

I am having a think about buying some facelift lights for the LED conversion or sticking with pre-facelift and having the conversion done on those. I think the pre-facelift look better on a black car but I have not seen too many clear views of facelift ones on a black car. Anyone got a comparison photo like the ones attached? As an added brucey bonus if anyone has the LED conversion done on pre-facelift lights it would be very nice to see so I can get more of an idea of how it will look.. Ive been looking at the stuff Heckler makes and the more I look the more I want =)

I was mis-sold my car also as it was the first time I had ever bought a car and got caught up in it - tried small claims court who did nothing except charge me an admin fee then tell me they could not do a thing. I also ran into certain laws protecting the actual seller. Few mates, turn up, explain to him that you want your money back. Just don't do anything thats going to land yourself in trouble.

LPG conversions anyone? Isnt it higher octane than petrol anyways?

Read up as much as you can about the supra before you buy one - it will reduce your chances of picking one up that has been hammered, and will give you tips on what to look for. There is a well put together safe driving tip thread that I make a point of reading at least every couple of monthshttp://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?131040-Safer-Driving-Tips-**PLEASE-READ** The forum and knowledge within is more than worth the subscription fee - things like this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?140112-WARNING-15-year-old-brake-line-rotted-through will give you a heads up about problems relating to the cars age.

If your talking about the illuminated switch I imagine you can put it anywhere you like if you have the wire available - dont think any special dash panels are required.

Even an N/A can bite you. If you have no experience in RWD or turbo cars then an N/A just for the experience would be worthwhile. If you save up for a big power single and subsequently bin it youl be kicking yourself. As mentioned earlier too dont fully disregard the auto box - its not like something they drop into a peugeot - its actually a very good system. But if you do test drive an auto make sure you remember it is an auto or you may end up planting the front end into something.

I want the job of updating peoples addresses - takes what all of 10 minutes at most? 25 quid a pop.. yes please.

Damn.. and yeah gonna have another go at fixing it next weekend. Pretty sure its to do with the Prototype board as I couldnt figure out how to raise it off the board, ended up using superglue and chunks of plastic Ive probably mis-aligned the LEDs too. Money saved by doing this myself is going into the rear light LED conversions I want
-
haha well they are acting strange! they only illuminate when I press in one of the buttons along the top. Ill get hold of some of those LEDS then, I soldered mine in by following Hecklers guide, but somethings gone wrong somewhere. If I can make use of the stock bulb holders I will! Were they fine fitment wise behind the dash lights? i.e. where the bulb holders are?

Thats more than a 33% rise there.. Going to be more uninsured drivers on the road with the costs rising, which will have a knock on effect of increasing the cost of insurance...
-
Organised insurance claiming is only going to get worse - seems so easy for people to set it up and make big money from it. Just remember to keep a camera in your car in the event it happens to you and take as many photos of the damage as you can. My uncle hit someone who slammed on in front of him at a clear roundabout, he reacted quickly so it was a low speed collision, minor scuffs to the bumpers etc - but come claim time the guys car had inherited more damage than was initially caused.. Had my uncle had a camera and taken pics they wouldnt have got away with it. Incidently it was the guys 4th claim of the year involving a rear collisions according to the insurance investigation people. Even if they clamp down on insurance fraud though will the price drop, or will it stay because were already accepting and paying it?

Neo how did you use the T5 / T10`s? Are they simply plug in to existing bulb holders? Ive just done mine but managed to mix up my LEDs and somehow got a bunch of purple ones on the heater control. Half of the blue ones arent working either until you press a button down so got some funky connection issue somewhere..

Ideal first Supra on ebay by the looks of it......

I like the baseball cap comment -
Very good price, but too far to go
-
haha your pic scares me Hate, I didnt go that far, seats stayed at least! However I have just put it all back together, I have 2 screws left over.. so its not too bad! But.. I am concerned about a green plug under the steering wheel which is not connected to anything!! Help! Does this need to be plugged in anywhere? It is quite short and linked to another part of the loom so it cant move very far and I cannot see where it could be plugged in.. any ideas? *Edit, I havnt plugged this in as I cant figure out where to put it, but its all back together and appears to work fine.. Glad its over! What a pain in the rear. Got coffee and a well deserved club

Try Heroes of Newerth - a bit too addictive because of the endless combinations of opponents and team makeups / tactics. Bit of a hard learning curve and you will get griefed for being a noob but its fun once you get into it.

What an absolute pain in the rear this is! Got the air con de-gassed yesterday so set about it again this morning. Ive managed to only just get the old matrix and pipes out and attach them up to the new matrix on my dining room table. It should slot in fine and I can try to put it all back together. I had such a hard time removing the bulkhead bolts from the water pipe and air con pipe fixing plates.. having ABS and a charcoal can didnt help things. And those clips holding the water pipe to the matrix pipes were a royal PITA to get off. I ended up having to dremel off the clips and pull them through the bulkhead to undo them whilst inside the car - as I simply couldnt get the tools in place within the engine bay. God knows how you guys did this in a few hours, but im betting its all to do with the right tools Whilst its out I have swapped over my dials for some el-glo ones and about to order the bits for the dash light conversion from maplin. Hope I never have to do one of these ever again though, and if I sell that supe its going to be a major point of interest

Original EQ was my drug for a long time - Nothing seems to even come close to the high end raiding of that challenge wise, or teamwork wise. was 64 man raids at one point and we didnt "cheat" and use vent or TS

Nm, dont feel up to doing the whole converstion so ill go with stock replacements from Mr T. Id probably do it wrong and kill the unit.
