Finally got another Supra....and it’s DJG!
ShawnPreece replied to drift_bear's topic in mkiv Supra Projects
Corrected it for you bud Looking good Alex -
For sale is my race spec 2JZ-GTE non vvti head This was in my Supra running 1031bhp on pump fuel and full spec of head is: Ported and polished GSC Beehive valve spring kit GSC intake valves GSC exhaust valves GSC Viton valve stem seals Shimless buckets GSC stage 2 274 cams HKS adjustable cam pulleys It does have quite abit of wear detailed below... The valves and guides have had some wear. The valve seats also have wear but could be reused. Cams could be reused but ideally need changing from abnormal wear. Wear to cam lobes and buckets. There is visible wear to valve stems, they vary in size but generally have 0.02mm of uneven wear. The port work is all still fine. Reason for sale is to go for a vvti head to compliment my setup rather than re-using this head. Look through all the pictures as I have included as many as possible showing the wear, the head is currently at SRD and I can ask for any more photos on request and I will try to answer any questions I can but I have been as honest as possible about the condition of it. £1900 collected (from SRD) or I’m sure I could arrange delivery with Lee for a little extra

Hmm hard to say exactly bud as there are so many options of components that go into it... it’s basically machining costs on top of what the kits cost... The 6062 is a gen ll turbo bud so a different range to the 6266’s and so on, they claim 750bhp off it so thinking it should do 700 ok but it’s mainly the technology in the gen ll for the faster spool I’m wanting
-
Pretty much agree with everything that’s already been said, it’s just 1 of a few methods of improving spool with low down torque and the more of these methods you do the better your spool will be. There are cheaper methods of gaining the same if not more on spool but as mentioned above your not only getting an increase in torque to help with spool it does alter the sound too it’s much deeper and everyone has a preference but to me I love it. I’m just starting to build my black Supra now too and I’ve got a vvti engine to go in but my goal is very different with that one I only want about 700bhp from it and my goal is the ultra fastest spooling 700bhp that I can do so starting with the vvti engine and most probably a precision 6062 gen ll turbo (or maybe Garrett equivalent if the spool is comparable enough) I will see how that drives and then my plan will be to take the engine back out to 3.4 the bottom end aswell so with the vvti head the fast spooling turbo and the 3.4 bottom end I think that will be a really good street setup with very little spool time. Basically explaining this as it shows how much I do love the stroker as I will go stroker on this one too. A lot of people will say there are cheaper methods of improving spool and I 100% agree with them but it does work and in my oppinion it sounds amazing so o am a massive fan of stroker

In this case that’s my fault sorry, Dan (the seller) text me asking how to mark it as sold as he’s new to the forum but I was on the phone for hours and didn’t get back to him soon enough and then had a phonecall off him which I switched to as he had just logged onto the forum and seen the comment, my bad sorry
-
I’m good friends with Dan (the seller) and it was also for sale on the Facebook page which is where it sold and when he came on here later on in the evening to comment on here to say sold that’s when he noticed your comment and therefore mentioned it was sold. Unfortunately because of social media and more advertising strategies this day in age it’s very rare that any items are only ever advertised on one place and therefore there is always a chance or anything being sold even where no comments are made (even things like cars... the number of times I’ve called about a car on auto trader and it’s sold via eBay for example) I was only made aware of this post as Dan called me as he was upset about the comment, he’s relatively new to the forum and he’s only bought his first Supra less than a month ago so he’s trying to build relationships with people on here and didn’t want to upset anyone, he’s a very honest person and a great addition to the Supra community. Unfortunately though with the increase of popularity in social media and with the additional avenues of places to advertise we all just have to accept that in this day in age being the first to comment on a for sale post doesn’t necessarily mean we are the first to be in touch about the item.

How’s he shafted anyone? He’s just sold his seats beforehand and was honest about the condition...

wanted Ideally Aerotop but will consider any
ShawnPreece replied to ShawnPreece's topic in Supra Classifieds
Haha nah just asking for a friend -
Hi, just seeing whats about, ideally after an aerotop but will consider any Supra. Budget of £12000 but will consider perfect working Supras or Supras that are needing work done too (obviously aslong as it is reflected in the price)… what you got? If you are tempted to part with yours then give me a pm with spec and price Thanks Shawn.

what supporting mods do you have with your turbo setup? as in amount of fuel pumps, electric fans etc... as theses are what will use it (aswell as the stereo of course)

2010 BMW 320D Effient Dynamics here, very comfortable daily nice to drive and very economical, I do an 80 mile round trip for work every day aswell as have a season ticket at Man Utd (130 mile each way) so economy was very important for me and does the job nicely 163bhp too which is by no means fast but is sufficient to overtake when needed and drive comfortably

Haha me and Dad was very impressed
