  1. very strange then mate, il add pics tmrw of what mine looks like inside and out. the clutch does feel very good was launching like a mofo smoking the drag radials up my tarmac road with very good clutch feel just didnt like the heat and welded up on me.
  2. if i had paid £2500 for this clutch id be at the door of the retailer now going absolutely barmey tbh.
  3. cheers for that fella, im done with them im gonna run mine til it throws a wobler again than change it for possibly a rps triple carbon/carbon, i need a clutch i can slip without it welding itself to the flywheel ! lol even my mere 760 rwhp is proving somewhat difficult to get the power down on drs.
  4. i had to make more adjustment by physicaly moving the slave cylinder, it pushed so far i had to grind some of the gearbox away to make room for the arm to move as it was backing up against the gearbox !
  5. yes ive just gone to far now since it jammed up, i forgot to mention i also had to grind abit of my gearbox away as the clutch release arm was hitting up against the gearbox bellhousing, il take pics tmrw for you, it doesnt need to go far ive just overdone mine due to the sticking issue.
  6. no problem mate il take a pic tmrw, all i have to do now is slacken the bolts off and slide my slave forward or back till i get it where i want it, my clutch at the moment is so high its only an inch or 2 down from the top to biting point ! il take a pic of inside the box aswell to show the release bearing and sleeve.
  7. mark, you also need your clutch pedal adjuster fully released so you get full travel to push the slave out to full reach, the pedal will sit abit high but its no biggy.
  8. mine was doing exactly the same bud, the slave doesnt really have enough throw on it imo, slot the holes on the slave mount bracket and slide it closer towards the engine just by a few mm will make all the differance, ive slotted mine out so much now i went through the back of the bracket ! lol i wanted maximum force on the clutch plates to get it released and it worked. im a mechanic by trade on civil engineering and agricultural equipment and have lots of experiience with repairing machinery and the clutch kit isnt made properly well the slave mounting bracket anyways, its not good enough tbh.
  9. the worse thing is the rps carbon/carbon triple rated to 1200 rwhp is only £2000 from mvp motorsport its cheaper than the carbonetics and fully slippable, i think im sold tbh once my clutch gives up il flog it on ebay and get the rps triple, if its good enough for jp then its more than good enough for mine
  10. jps seems to be holding upto his monster engine and thats just a twin which i think is cheaper than the carbonetics triple ! i belive these carbonetics are truely rubbish.
  11. id just like to add imo anybody reading this thinking of buying a carbonetics triple, please DONT they are rubbish buy something else.
  12. its got a long sleeve that looks part of the release bearing il take a phone pic tmrw for you, is your issue that your foot is right on the floor and it wont go in gear properly ? im guessing it is, slave needs modding to cure it i had to do mine first launch i did and wore the clutch down a few thou and wouldnt engage anymore !. be warned there definately not a good drag racing clutch fella. im very unnimpressed tbh, i gave my nismo twin death in my skyline and it took much longer to show signs of weakness.
  13. surely your joking, more power ! lol i was just looking on there site i want something fit and forget maybe the billet tripple when i remove the carbonetics garbage, for what they charge for these carbonetics clutches they are utter rubbish imo, id advise anyone NOT to buy one buy something else, mine has been nothing but trouble with not engageing properly now welding itself together !
  14. what issues did you have ? my issues have always been clutch doesnt engage properly which i have rectified now. on mine the clutch slave cylinder wasnt putting enough pressure on the arm so i slotted the slave adaptor plate mounting holes so i can slide the slave in further to get more adjustment. its now adjusted too much and biting point is too high, il adjust it back down tmrw.
  15. right my clutch is now working again. took some freeing off but it came, the plates had got stuck together all seems good again now though.
  16. im just off to give it the bigun with the clutch engaged see if it will release it, what you running jp yours seems to hold upto it, and can i get one from the uk anywhere on monday ?
  17. the same symptoms when a clutch gets stuck to the flywheel, it doesnt slip but it wont engage to change gear.
  18. im wondering if the clutch plate is stuck to the flywheel ? im gonna try driving up the road and give it the gun in third with the clutch pedal on the floor if its stuck that should free it.
  19. ive inquired how quick i can get a osg quad, i want to be at pod on 1st october aswell ! il try it in the morning once its sat all night cold but someting must be seriously wrong when a clutch wont engage, there is still some feel to the pedal aswell it hasnt just collapsed. ive tryed ringing whifbitz but no answer there, hopefully they stock parts if i need any, should be able to get box of tmrw and have a look if its no better cold.
  20. got my drag radials on today and done 3 launches up the road and now the clutch wont engage ? clutch has done 1500 miles so almost new. it felt good for the first 2 launches, third one i was coasting down and went to put it in neutral but it was hanging in gear clutch hasnt engaged since then ? could it possibly be stuck together ?
  21. a supplier in america they have worked out £500 for the pair and i suspect fedex will want at least £100 duty aswell, not cheap but the size i wanted at 27.6" tall.
  22. i hope so, they certainly look streetable they will get a good test at pod on the 1st, preying for a dry day
